Hey people, I had a doubt while reading the text for the GDRoP. It seems to me that when you do the Rite it's like you had gained a level of sorcerer, whithout having leveled at all.
If that's true, would a kobold who does the Rite at 7th level gain 4th level spells, as if it had leveled up to 8th?
And the when he really levels up to 8th level, would he get the spell progression as if it was a 9th level sorcerer?
Finally, if those assumptions are true, what would happen when it levels up to level 20? He doesn't get any new spells?
Thanks in advance.

In reality, a Kobold Sorcerer who expects to reach level 20 has Prestige Classed out long before level 20, and has in all likelyhood used up that extra level to take a PrC/dip/Paragon class that cost them the level. If nothing else, when they reach level 20, they will take a single level in a class that gets a bonus feat or extra spells known at level 1, but which does not progress casting.

In theory, a level 20 Kobold Sorcerer who has undergone the passage has a caster level of 21, but the spells known and the spell slots of a level 20 sorcerer. Sadly, Epic Sorcerer does not grant more spells known or spell slots, so the caster level is all they get.

But yes, at lower level, a Sorc7 has all the spellcastiness you would normally expect from a Sorc8. They of course get none of the other things that come from levels, such as BAB or Ability Increase, until they actually reach those levels.
