Idea: forum goers engage in a modern day version of chess-by-mail. All forum goers with a decent grasp of algebraic chess notation are invited to play.
Rules:
1. Anyone can play. First one to list a valid move for a side makes that move official. I imagine this will cause the game to descend into chaos in a matter of a page or two, but bare in mind it is an experiment and I'm not too concerned with guaranteed success at this time. Besides, it will be fun!
2. Once you make a move for White/Black, any additional moves you make that game must be for White/Black as well. No sabotaging the other side by submitting valid but horrible moves.
3. If you make a move for your team, let someone else make a move for your team before doing so again. So, if you play for White and someone plays Black, you must let someone else play White before you do so again.
4. Remember that this is the Internet. The Internet may have been developed for serious matters, but it can be used for just goofing off as well. If someone on your team makes a bad move, don't worry about it and don't chastise them for it. It's just a board game being played online. Have fun!
I'll try to see if I can find my chessboard in storage. If I succeed, I'll try to post occasional images of the board so that those who don't understand algebraic chess notation can try to follow along.
