OOC Thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=13075824)

Turn 1, 1933 CE
It is the dawn of the year 1933 CE. The Great War has been over for years, but the scars of its passage still linger. Some are obvious, such as the vast wastelands where veins of Kokytium leave the land barren and dying. Some are not.

In Europa the young king of Portugal seethes on his throne while his neighbor continues a brisk Atlantic trade. Germania and Russia eye each other over what is left of the eastern ranges, and the Roman Empire attempts to reclaim its majesty.

On the vast plains of the east the Mongol clansmen repair their great walkers while thinking dark thoughts of the golden empire. The monks of Bod continue their sacred works while the islanders dream thoughts of empire.

In the Americas two conflicting modes of thought batter against each over lines of commerce and barely withheld contempt. And in the south the vast jungles remain impenetrable to all but the bravest Aztlan warriors.

Africa remains a boiling cauldron of warlords and independent states fighting for power. While the two great powers of the south strive for dominance.

The Great War is over. But for how long can peace hold.

The Canadian Federal Imperium
D.Esp: 10

In North America the Canadian Federal Imperium manages its economy and is still attempting to rebuild from the Separation War. Although agreements have been reached the economy will require a long time to recover. Canada and Quebec have largely come to terms with the war, and are content to allow the other to live peacefully. Despite this Canada is still worried about a war from the south, where the massive armies of the People's Republic of America preform ever more military drills.

In the Prime Ministers Office

The current Prime Minister of the Canadian Federal Imperium - Richard Bennett - looks over the reports his secretary gave him to read before the next parliamentary session. The first session summarizes the state of relations with Quebec. Looking over it he reads about the continuing paranoia and mutual espionage campaign the two nations are engaged in. With the increasing threat to the south he is unhappy, thinking it a waste of resources. He considers possibilities to put these resources and makes a note to write a missive to Quebec later. Perhaps an arrangement could be made. The spying would continue for a while now, but maybe it could be made less of a strain on their resources.

He then reads a briefing on the rest of the Americas and the political status that they have. Looking through the files, he feels strongly that no matter what happens a war is inevitable. The PRA's aggressiveness combined with tensions between Canada the PRA and the DUS will likely break soon. The Aztlan Hegemony might make a good ally given their problems with the Caribbean, but Bennett has doubts abot the reliability of an alliance they would form. After all, they need their sacrifices. In the end he decides that he doesn't need to talk to them at the moment, and will do so later if need arises.

The DUS seem to be doing well. Trade is significant, and a great help to the economy, and the DUS' research seems to be going much faster then expected, and certainly much faster then in Canada. Their military seems fairly weak however, which would be a problem if the PRA wanted to invade.

The PRA seem to be having the same morale issues as usual, but the military buildups are troubling. Bennett makes another note to increase espionage activity into the PRA. He intends to be cautious about it however, and not attempt to give anything away.

The final report he reads deals with the Empire of the Resplendent Sun. It urges him to acquire the technology of their empire as in civilian applications it is much superior to their own.

As he gets up having finished the reports he says to himself The world is changing too quickly. First the great war, then Quebec's separation and now a likely war with the PRA. I certainly hope that the PRA doesn't strike too soon. opefully our operative can make them less effective first.

Diplomatic messages sent later that day from Canada

To the Empire of the Resplendent Sun (lowest esp: 8)

Emperor Hiroyuki of the Empire of the Resplendent Sun we of the government of Canada would like to propose trade relations with you. Your civilian technology is admittedly decades if not more ahead of our own, and we would be interested in acquiring some of this to assist our economic buildup following the economic damage caused by the separation war. If you are interested in continuing discussions then we will send a diplomatic envoy to your country to do so. The government must stress that due to the nature of the technology being traded our envoy will be taking measures to ensure that what is discussed at the meeting remains secret, and request you do the same.

To the DUS (lowest: 10)

Recently we have noticed that the PRA has been building up forces and preforming military exercise within short distances of both our and your border. Action must clearly be taken in order to minimize the threat this poses. I recommend that your research department start to focus on military technology. In addition our military reaffirms that in the event of a war we will aid you, however we lack the research capacity to significantly increase our tech level on our own. We would request that a formal agreement be drafted that states that in the event of a war military technologies will be released to us, so that we can better fight the PRA. We look forward to discussions on this issue.

The Quebec (lowest 4)

A representative is discreetly dispatched to talk to the representatives of the Quebec espionage agency. He does so under orders of the Canadian government. His proposal is very hush hush, and is very unofficial. Given the natures of the agencies the meeting itself is nearly impossible to observe. The only thing people can figure out is that the operative is sent.

PM

The Man walks into the Quebec Espionage Department, and they let him in, having been notified in advance of his arrival. He comes to a meeting with the representatives. He quickly delivers his proposal, saying As you are aware our nations both spy on each other on a near constant basis, and this is becoming a drain on both of our reasources. Therefore to lessen the strain on both of us we propose this; an agent exchange pogram. Whenever agents are caught they will be promised good treatment in interrogation. From there they will be held and treated well, until agreed upon times. At these times these agents will be returned to their country of origin. This will reduce losses to each others counter-espionage campaigns, and allow them to be deployed elsewhere, benefiting both of our abroad networks. So what do you think of this proposal?

Portugal

While the Portugal army worked to fortify the borders of the nation, King Jose II have carefully drafted messages to Russia and Austro-Hungarian Empire.

''We are the most prominent nations of Europe and we share the same memories of the Great War. I would like to propose a meeting and signing a non-aggression pacts to send a message to the rest of Europe. There will be no war and strife between us.''

Luxembourg

Apparently the Portuguese are holding a meeting with Russia and Austria-Hungary, considering themselves the 'most prominent nations in Europe'. Bah, everyone always forgets Luxembourg...

Isn't that good, sire? Isn't that what we want?

I suppose so, but sometimes I wish someone would take note of how well we've avoided anyone taking note of us. Eh, the chance that this meeting will amount to anything is equal to the Canadian secret service meeting with their Quebec counterparts on peaceful terms.

Ehh... about that, sire...

...And the hells will ascend onto the lands of the living...

- End-Time prophecies

It was the 5th aniversary of the Kheranic fundamentalists victory and the declaration of Samubai Imikheras as the Republics Supreme Leader. Now he held his aniversal speech in front of the masses speaking of their reighteousness under God but also of the holy lands of Kherans pilgrimage which were still held by Madagascari infedels.
Just a few hours ago he had send out instructions to his political and military commanders.
A small force was directed to expand northwards and gain access to new recources to supply the bulk of the army that was preparing to liberate the holy lands.
General Ezekiel Mekmende was carried by the fastest hovertruck to the Caliphate to coordinate with the Ethiopian generals. He also carried a personal message from the Supreme Leader to his highness the Caliph.
Then the Supreme leader instructed his President to initiate diplomatic relations with all the great asian and north african nations. One ship was sent to the Empire of the Resplendent Sun with Dr. Sonja Imibwazi acting as envoy. Similar diplomatic ships were sent to Khmer, Bod, Majapit, Kushan, Satavahana, the Mongol Khanate, the Emirates and the Roman Empire. The purpose was to exchange scientific knowledge and technology and to establish trade relations. (OOC - While these envoys are not exactly a secret please only act as if you know if you have enough espionage and were spying on the relevant nations)
The Supreme Leader also lifted the ban on research regarding Acherium but strictly only to learn how to counteract it or how to make it safe.
Lastly he gave his official blessing to the religious mission South America. Even in times of war peaceful endeavors and generosity should not be forgotten. (OOC - The missionary ship will land between realworld Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo, establish a mission on the coast there and spread out from there to preach Kheranism, feed the poor, heal the sick, establish schools and do all the other stuff that missions normally do in third world countries)

Message to the Caliph of Ethiopia: (Lowest Espionage 9)
To His Highness the Caliph Abudjib Odesmaha Umenei III, Steward of Kheran and Supreme Authority to the Ethiopian People under God.

Dear brother Abudjib, I believe the time is has come to take the holy lands back from the infedels and as servants of God and followers of Kheran it is our duty to stand together in this endeavor. Therefore I have sent one of my finest generals to coordinate with your advisors. I besiege you for your blessing and support in this cause.
May His glory shine upon you, your brother under God.

Signed:
His Ecxellency Samubai Imikheras, Patriarch of the Kheranic Church and Father of the Republic of Saloa by will of God.

Attached is a copy of all the attack plans and crucial information about the Saloan agents infiltrating Kenyuganda and Madagascar. (OOC - If everything goes right then Mekmende will as Ethiopia to send out their espionage agents to sopport Saloas agents in Kenyuganda and Madagascar. Attack plans will be made next round.)

Message carried by Dr. Sonja to the Emperor: (Lowest Espionage 8)
To the Kakushinbitoku Emperor Hiroyuki of the Empire of the Resplendent Sun.

Great Emperor. This diplomatic envoy was sent by me from the Kheranic Republic of Saloa located in the southern reaches of Africa. We marvel your culture and technological advances and hope to establish trade and friendship between our countries. I hope that peace and prosperity will be the only thing that comes from our future relations. God bless you.

Signed:
Mubar Maroon, President of the Kheranic Republic of Saloa

EoT: (Do I need to disclose my stats?)
Military:
2 units to recon/expand towards south Angola, allying and supporting any Kheranists in any quarrels in hope to create a puppet/ally regime and/or to incorporate the lands into the Republic.
The rest of the military prepares for the coming war. Naval forces (almost half of total military) concentrated in the southern harbors and patroling the sea there, ground forces securing the borders, training and mostly setting up just below real world Tanzania.

Espionage:
Send 2 units on scouting and intel mission beyond the northern borders of Saloa with priority to learn about the local rulers and their relations to each other (seeking potential allies and weaknesses of the rest) and to catalogize any Pits of Hades and other potential resources. They will not spread higher than just into the borders of real world Congo.
Send 2 units to infiltrate Kenyuganda focused on three prime missions: a) Create an underground network of local fundamentalists and other anti-communists to prepare attack from within synchronized with the comming invasion. b) Learn any and all information possible about the state of the military. c) infiltrate government and report anything relevant.
Send 3 units to the lands conquered by Madagascar on the same missions as those sent to Kenyuganda.
Send 2 units to Madagascar proper, one to infiltrate the government and one to infiltrate the navy.

Research:
2 points towards counteracting the effects of Acherium. That means both short-term medicine and ways to repair long-term damage to environment (should support military and morale equally).
2 points towards perfecting Acherium-less hover technology and production.
2 points towards researching Phlegentiums potential to enhance projectile weapons (focusing more on artillery, but also looking into applications for smaller weapons).

Morale:
6 points to support the war effort against Madagascar.
3 points for the religious mission to the coasts of Brazil.

Pit Resources:
+1 to Military by building a fleet of mediumsized hovertanks.
+1 to Military by expanding the military railroad network connecting major cities, factories, military bases and food/water production.

DUS to the Canadian Federal Imperium
We are willing to draft a technological trade agreement with you.

Quebec to the Canadian Federal Imperium
It seems a amicable enough agreement on the surface, however it also opens up the oppurtunity for you to simply keep sending agents who have been returned. As opposed to us keeping them locked away. This has the potential to let your agents learn to infiltrate us more thoroughly through experience. As such we want a clause added that if an agent is captured twice then they will be held for a minimum of two years.

To Quebec [PM]

An additional clause like that would be fine with us. It still accomplishes the same goal of having agents not die as frequently. We accept your addition

To the DUS [10 to read]

We propose the following clause be added to the defense treaty we have.

Should the parties involved enter into a war both sides will disclose all of their technological research of a military nature to the other, in order to aid in winning the war.

If you would propose any changes let us know.

To Alaska [10 to read]

With the recent rise in the PRA's activity we are becoming increasingly concerned about the possibility of a war in North America. Should our side lose the war this would be incredibly bad for you, as you wouldn't have the resources to stop them from spreading into your country.

Given the consequences should we lose the war the Canadian government believes that it would be beneficial if you were to sign onto the mutual defense treaty that we have signed with the DUS. We acknowledge that you are not a terribly powerful nation, however even a small military such as yours has the potential to tip the scales in our favor. Would you accept this offer?

If so we are considering adding a new clause to the treaty. it states

Should the parties involved enter into a war both sides will disclose all of their technological research of a military nature to the other, in order to aid in winning the war.

What are your opinions about this clause.

The City of Eternal Celestial Light Clad in Gold and Jade

"City of Temples", "City of Pagodas", "City of Trees", "City of Flowers", "City of Light" or splendor or glory or a hundred other sobriquets each fell away from the mind when it was first seen. Fifteen million people dwelt within its unwalled reaches. Some countries could fit within its boundaries. Where there was stone it looked as though the pieces had been liquefied so perfectly were their joints, internal angels of ninety degrees were common and decorative, a nearly impossible feat even with modern tools. With steel skeletons and sapphire skins the towers rose like crystal spires. Decorative rivers lined the paths and the city was as much an open air park as an urban sprawl. Everywhere there were people, dressed in finery and hurrying about.

The street was clear for pedestrians, it was the sky where normal traffic plied. Disks with a forward rotating ring were the common shape. Some large vehicles carried up to a dozen large ring towers on their sides and floated by serenely.

But all this was nothing before the palace. Nearly spherical in outline, covered all over in gold, red jade, amber, and coral; the size of a small city itself. Towers of great height ringed with lifting disks like pagoda roofs, the whole shimmering as though it were white hot, and all of it floating above a serene lake. It looked more the domain of a god than a man, and that was indeed the effect it was meant to convey.

The outer palace which surrounded it was itself immense, though each member was dwarfed by the constant reminder of what lay above. The delegations from Canada and Saloa were led to the hall of reception, where a massive staircase led to the Doors of the World's Heart. Each appeared to be solid gold, eighty meters high and twenty wide, and adorned with the image of the August Personage of Jade depicted as Surya and a Saint.

Without even a hiss of air the doors opened to the largest enclosed space in the world. The dais on which the emperor's throne rested was as large as a small building. His advisers sat around him on golden platforms. The room was like a circle, the dais represented Mount Meru, and the symbolism was of the whole world.

When both had spoken or had their messages read aloud the crown prince spoke, the emperor's voice was too pure to be heard for such a response,

"It is good that the peoples of Tianxia come before the Throne of the Middle Kingdom. Let these things come to pass, that envoys are send to these two nations carrying with them many sacred texts and the wisdom of the Emperor that it may be taught them and they will be ignorant of these things no more. Only let the same be done by your sovereigns for there is much curiosity among our people concerning the things done in the West and East."

In Private Session of the Four Sovereigns [PM]
We have meditated upon the ten thousand things and believe that war comes to our kingdoms. Therefore, let us make an agreement to secure our borders against the hostility of our neighbors and to promote peace and secure the company of several sovereigns so that the barbarians will not seek to collude with them.

Let us all together gird ourselves for war and at last complete the pacification of the subcontinent. Satavahana we will overawe with our learning and impress upon with the authority of the Mandate of Heaven. Kushan we will destroy and give as a gift of chains to Satavahana so that they will ever toil for our favor else we cast them from power.

Canada

morale: 10

As the Canadian delegate moves through the capitol of the Empire he is truly awed by the sights that he sees. When he later wrote memoirs of his diplomatic career this would receive much attention. A well liked passage says:

While it goes by many names City of Light is most certainly the best to describe the city, both literally and metaphorically. Truly everything in the city was built with more care and effort than most people put in over the course of their whole lives. While The cities of Canada are primarily built for function, especially after the war everything in this city spoke of beauty. When I was told that this city held 15 million people I expected slums and squalor. Instead I got a city more magnificent than any I had ever dreamed of. It was a true Utopia, where people had known no war for centuries. And the knowledge they had. If knowledge is held of even the slightest value to you then you would have been astonished at the treasure they held, and thought nothing of.

[PM] To the Empire of the Resplendent Sun (and whoever else is physically at the meeting)

A very humble looking diplomatic representative greets the representatives of the Empire in whatever way they deem formal {presumably he has had some courses on foreign etiquette}. He then says the following things

We of Canada have heard of the great knowledge held by the men of the East. It has been truly a great honor to see your city, and the wonders it holds. After a few more compliments he says his proposal.

As I have seen on my way here the People of Canada are ignorant on a great many things that you have knowledge of. We would be greatly interested in gaining the technology and knowledge that you possess. It is my hope that we can come to an agreement to allow these technologies to be transferred. Although it is little compared to what you have we propose a trade in technology. We would propose the trade of some of our knowledge of the Hades Pits as we call them for knowledge of some of the technology that your civilization has built.

After hearing the crown Prince's response he figures that it is part of the formal process, and that he will get a concrete answer to his proposal later. He responds I would be honored to take the texts and wisdom of the empire back to Canada. We would greatly appreciate the wisdom of such a successful civilization. And of course I will arrange for texts dealing with the culture and religions of Canada to be sent here as soon as possible. The increase in relations between our two nations is something that we will of course do everything in our power to improve.

{OOC: waiting for a reply to the proposal. Also what exactly is contained in these religious texts? Can I assume something relatively similar to Buddhism? Also what wisdom specifically is being given aside from holy texts?}

Empire to Canada [Lowest esp 8]
The sacred texts are the equivalent of entry level text books. Which means university level text books for you guys. Religion of Science and all that. The Yongle Dadian for example is a combination encyclopedia and technical manual. The Rig Veda says,
[O Sun] you who traverse 2,202 yojanas in half a nimesa. which translates to 187945 miles per second. (Modern speed says 186000, the inconsistency is from units not converting properly due to fractions not being perfectly mappable to decimal and several intervening units.)

Turn 2, June 1933 CE

Despite the misgivings of many nations the great peace continues. Indeed many countries take the opportunity to expand their frontiers and explore the distant wild places. Probing the unexplored depths of Africa and South America.

The exception to this peace is the sub continent of India. In the north the Empire of the Resplendent Sun has launched a major assault pushing the Kushan Empire back. In the south the Satavahana Empire fared even worse as a blitz of Khmer troops overran the relatively peaceful country's defense forces.

DUS to the Canadian Federal Imperium
We agree.

Alaska to the Canadian Federal Imperium
We have nothing to gain from such a treaty. Before they can even get to us they would have to go through you, and more than likely they would also have to deal with the DUS. By the time they got through all of that there wouldn't be enough left to threaten us, at least not within a large enough time span that we can make other arrangements. On the other hand if we do sign this treaty it would bring us to their attention and potentially make us targets far far sooner than otherwise.

The Satavahana Empire to the Majapahit
We know there is little contact between our two countries, but we write this because you our are only hope of defeating the Khmer invaders. Normally we might ask the Kushan, but they are already dealing with their own problems. Bod has no force to speak of, and the Resplendent Empire is only slightly better than the Khmer and again they have their own problems. So we implore you to aid us in our time of need and we will be your allies forever after.

Empire of the Resplendent Sun

To the Kushan Empire [PM]
Before we say what we wish to say, let us be clear. We understand that you are very angry at us right now. We understand that you did nothing particularly dramatic to provoke so drastic a response besides your endless squabble with our ally Bod. We also know that your position is not looking good with us to the North, Khmer to the South and you between.

So then, let us be clear. We don't want to destroy you. We don't want to enslave you. We don't even want to seriously harm you. What we do want is a secure border, regional stability, and cooperation between the Great Powers of Asia in preparation for the next war.

As you may have noticed your losses were considerably more than ours. With the battlefield data we have gained our next attack will be stronger, more than making up for the minor losses we have suffered. We know you do not have any similar tricks.

So we will make you this offer. Join the Concord of Three (Afterword Four) Sovereigns. Sign strong and sacred treaties of peace and alliance with us. Agree to cooperation with the unified actions of the Concord. Do this and we will do more than leave you in peace. We will rebuild all you have lost and more than it with our own wealth. We will see your people prosperous and happy. We will in short make you better off than you are now.

You and we both know that had we made this offer before we attacked it would have been refused. If we had gone through the tedious work of overthrowing your government we would have gotten the outcome we were looking for at the cost of several years longer wait and considerably higher costs.

So, to use a trite Western Expression: Would you like the carrot or the stick?

To the Khmer Empire [PM]
Impressive. It seems we both had the same idea regarding India. However there is an interesting problem we both now face. On the one hand we both have large armed forces and are right next to each other. On the other we both have large armies in India and will soon crush the natives. Either of these situations could lead to war on their own. Both is a dangerous mix.

We therefore have a suggestion. Join the Concord of Three Sovereigns. It is not an organism we use to control other members, it is a defense pact against Western aggression and internal conflict. While at first there may be some friction we feel confident that in time we will both profit considerably by such an arrangement.

Please, seriously consider our offer. War between us would be a very bad thing and would let Majapahit and the Mongols sweep in to pick up the pieces. Avoiding war should be our primary concern.

To Satavahana[PM]
We know this is not a particularly good time. We cannot respond with military force to protect you and you likely do not think well of us for our actions toward your northern neighbors.

We would simply like to inform you that should the situation grow too bleak we will prepare a place in our lands to give to you as your sovereign territory to which you might evacuate your leaders and whatever you think worth taking. We believe the term is government in exile. We are not strongly suggesting this, that would look like coercion or a plan to exploit you. That is not our goal. We simply wish you to know the option is open if you wish it.

Arcane[GM PM]
Basically what I am going for is to eventually get all the nations of Asia as allies. I understand that this will take considerably investment. What I would like to know is: Is this A: Even Possible B: Feasable within 10 turns at most for all the NPCs I created besides the Mongols and Satavahana.

Although we regret your decision we accept that you do have a valid point. We hope that you will change your mind some time in the future.

To Quebec [PM]

Although we have had many recent troubles the PRA to the south is becoming a problem for every capitalist nation on this continent. Combined a coalition could take them down, and maybe actually restore prosperity to the continent. Military action should probably be postponed for at least a while, however if we were to target our espionage correctly we might do some damage. What do you say to a temporary refocusing of resources.

To DUS

The PRA is becoming more and more of a problem for us, and likely for you as well. We recommend that your research be focused on military rather than civilian endeavors, as rising tensions might boil over soon.

To the Aztlan Hegemony

Recently our nation has been having problems with the communist nations on the continent. While our troubles have primarily been focused on the PRA, the PRC are allied with the PRA, and are thus a problem by extension. We would be interested in making agreements to deal with these nations. These meetings will of course be extremely secret and will be held on Canadian Soil as we have more experience in dealing with enemy spies. You think we will just bow down to the first hint of goodwill after your unprovoked attack. We have taken great losses true, but our army is still strong and the survivors are those who excelled in the battles against you. We have already contacted the Mongol Khan and he has agreed to send his steam cavalry to aid us. If fighting continues we do not think any of your tricks will save you. So withdraw your forces and pay us the reparations for the damage you have caused first, and then we may consider joining this so called Concord.

The Khmer Empire to the Empire of the Resplendent Sun [PM]
We do not necessarily see any reason why we should go to war even without this Concord. Tell us more of what we will gain from joining it that we could not gain from simply signing a peace agreement between our two empires.

We thank you for the offer. We hope it will not come to that, but we will remember it.

I'll put up a more detailed explanation of how WO works and how to make people allies and enemies later, but short answer probably not in 10 turns without burning more stats than you are probably willing to.

Quebec to the Canadian Federal Imperium
We will be very clear. Our agreement to the hostage exchange program does not mean we regard you as allies. In fact the agreement itself pretty much underlines the fact that we will be trying to infiltrate each other. And while the APR is a communist country they still have done less against us than you have. So with all due respect we decline your offer.

Kushan Empire [PM]
You misunderstand our intentions. You are going to get nothing from us while your pride remains unbroken. We will however settle for a consolation prize. If you will sign a peace treaty with Bod and swear to never make war against us or them we will depart. If we continue to fight you may win. You will be all but destroyed and your new friends will likely pick up the pieces "in your best interests". Or them being them they will just take over without pretense.

Khmer Empire [PM]
A peace treaty between us would be a good thing yes. However it would not be sufficient in our opinion. War is coming, and not the relatively benign kind we are both experiencing right now. The Concord is an attempt to head that off.

The benefits include a joint sharing of all technology and cooperation on research. If you would like something else please suggest it.

Mongol Khanate [PM]
How can we put this delicately? Please stay out of India. We understand you dislike us. We understand you think of this as a wonderful opportunity to shame and weaken us.

Now, please understand where we stand. If you become directly involved it is very likely that the situation will degenerate. What follows will be an excellent repeat of the Great War and leave all of us in ruins.

If we are going to go to war let us go to war. But can we please not involve other countries in it?

The Peoples Republic of America

The crowds cheered as William Jefferson stepped up to podium. With a smile he turned to Chief Justice Donagan, and echoed the words of the Constitutional Oath;

"I, William Jefferson do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the Peoples Republic, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the People's Republic."

William turned back to the audience, as the brass band below him burst into life, blasting out the PRA National anthem; celebrating their nations finest virtues; Equality, Liberty, Righteousness.

When the band had finished, and the symbolic sounds of gunfire died away, William addressed the crowd;

"Free Peoples of America, Thank you! I will not lie, and say I was elected in the spirit of democracy, but I truly have you all to thank for getting here. It was your vision that made this nation what it is today, your desire to create a better country, a better world, free from tyranny and corruption, governed by the honest and the true.

"I am here today, because you had the courage to pursue that vision, the strength and confidence to cast out the taint in our society, and form a new, free land. To Aztlan Hegemony [PM]

The Aztlan representative is guarded carefully as he arrives, and is quickly moved to a room in the Parliament, which is promptly checked for any listening devices. After it is cleared the Canadian representative enters and says It is good that you came here, as I feel this meeting will be very productive. A war will soon come to this continent, there is no denying this. The two economic systems of this continent are too different to co-exist for long. And recently tensions have been getting worse. When the war comes Canada intends it to be from a position of strength. Given your enmity with the Caribbean you would likely be dragged in no matter what, so hopefully we can reach a mutually beneficial arrangement before this. He then pauses for a minute and says What I am about to tell you is confidential, so please do not let it become public knowledge. If you do we will of course deny it. Our spies in Qeubec have recently learned that the ties between them and the PRA are going stronger. They have sent representatives to many nations that are against us. The first representative was sent to Portugal, which is a very military nation right next to your close ally of Spain. Additionally ambassadors were sent to Quebec and Hawai. All of these nations are in a position to turn the tide of a war, Portugal by denying aid and the others by providing military help. It is clear that they will not let us live in peace. Therefore I propose that we plan a preliminary offensive to catch them off-guard. Should they be taken out quickly then we might be capable of crippling them, and forcing the other nations to stay out of it, lest they also face our wrath. Plans for this attack will be made at a later meeting. In return for your services the territory that formerly belonged to the PRC will be acknowledged as your by right of conquest, and should anyone dispute it we will stand with you to help solidify your claim. So what do you say to our proposal?

''We have split the Oblivion and produces new elements of incredible power. And the war was fought, a terrible, devastating war, that has claimed millions of lives and ravaged the land. The corpses rotted in the soil, the mothers wept for their sons and our innocence was lost forever.
Who is to say that the Shards of Oblivion couldn't be split further? Were it to happen, wouldn't such process unleash power, compared to which our current weapons are nought, but toys? I know, that this is going to happen. I foresee, a war will be fought, where cities would be turned into glass and smoke by a single artillery shot. A war where land and air would be contaminated for millennia. A war, that would be our last.

The power of Oblivion. Is it not fitting, that this gift, that was beginning of our ascension from ignorance and powerlessness, would also be the end destination? That at the end of the stairs of Science, beyond the doors of Reason and Understanding, lies not the divine of heaven, not universal truth, not knowledge of who we are and what we are doing here, but... nothing? Oblivion. It's the future, that we are making for ourselves.

I have realized it. But I didn't succumb to despair. I have not sought refuge in madness, as some claim. I will make a different future, I will control the power of Oblivion, rather than be controlled by it. I will restore the innocence we have lost and bring peace to the world. My mind is clear and I wear the Crown of Lamentations, my hand is strong and I wield the Sword of Sorrow, behind me the legions of ages are forming, so I shall guide us to the true path, for I'm am this world's Salvation.''

''What is goodness? There are many misconceptions on this subject, different beliefs on what it takes to be a good man. I know the answer to be very simple. Goodness is Power. We are beings of basest instincts for survival and procreation, yet our souls yearn for more. It's our aspirations, our ideals that make us more than beasts, that make us virtuous and good. And in order to achieve our dreams and follow our ideals, do we not need power? If you lack strength, you need to compensate for it, by being more brutal, more ruthless, then your opponent, in order to survive. The weak are thus the most cruel and evil beings, that walk the earth. It takes strength to win without killing your opponent, it takes strength to make people listen to your message of peace, it takes absolute power to be free of sin. Power purifies us of corruption. The most depraved and brutal beast given absolute power would be changed into a paragon of virtue.

Some say I am an evil King. I admit it, it is true. I am evil, corrupt, brutal, murderous and depraved being, for unlike many I realize my weakness. So I will walk the path of steel and blood, death and destruction, to become the Messiah free of sin and corruption, to lead humanity with absolute justice and virtue.''

Please keep the insults to yourselves, as it gets us no where. And I agree this is getting out of hand. I looks like we have most of the major nations involved somehow, and with no clear dominant side it could just be another pointless war. So clearly something needs to be done.

The main problem on our part is the vast hatred our people have of your government and values. While our government is willing to look past these issues it is the people that need to be convinced. I suggest that we engage in a joint operation in order to show co-operation is possible, and hopefully ease the tensions.

We have become aware that you have recently explored and met the people of Greenland. If we were to join in the first contact, and publicly announce our co-operation on this measure then surely this would change the people's opinions of our relationship.

Additionally opening the borders a little bit might allow some of the tensions to lift. Although you have already said you won't go for free trade, a more limited form of trade would certainly decrease tensions. You mentioned an excess of goods, so we might be able to work something out.

The very fact that three other nations would be willing to invade Spain without a Casus Belli makes them essentially a non-threat anyway. If they did try to aid the Aztlan against me, they'd probably be invaded immediately."

"If you're so keen to invade Spain, just take a few months to have your agents form a fake Casus Belli. I would of course have to declare war on you if I ever found out, but there would be little else in your way, beside moral integrity, and righteousness"

To Canada [PM]
"It's not that we're against the idea of free trade agreements, it would simply be entirely meaningless for us to join one. All production is controlled by the state, taxing imports and exports would just be taking money from ourselves."

"We would gladly have you join us in meeting the Greenlandic people. We've invited their leaders to a summit, so that hopefully we can help them form a unified government. I'm sure they'll be glad to know they'll have the friendship of another nation."

"As to the other nations, who seem to have taken sides in our ... rivalry, while I appreciate their support, I can not help but feel many of them have other motivations. Rome, and Portugal for instance, seem to be openly expansionist nations. Given the choice I would much rather be actively opposing against these nations, not working with them. Now that you point it out free trade doesn't make much sense for your nation. I propose another solution to build economic ties. We allow a small section of the border to be opened. From here goods can be traded back and forth between the nations. You would be free to sell to corporations or our government if you are more comfortable with that. Our corporations would also be allowed the opportunity to sell goods to your government. The list of approved goods would of course be very small at first in order to ease people into this, but over the long term it should build relations.

Indeed Portugal and Rome do both seem quite expansionistic, and it would be good to break ties with them, as we expect them to make a move soon. And while the Altzan's "traditions" are a little disturbing moving against them would upset the already fragile balance of power on this continent, so for the moment I highly advise leaving them alone.

All right, we will have a press release shortly, however I think we should agree on what we will say. We were thinking of saying something along the following lines.

"For many years now tensions have been running high between our nation and the People's Republic of America. It has looked like war might brake out at any moment and each side was constantly looking for a war to outmaneuver the other. However today after weeks of negotiations with the People's Republic we have come to the agreement that something must be done to release these tensions, and prevent a war that would kill millions and accomplish nothing.

The PRA were kind enough to release the results of an expedition they recently sent to Greenland, and has been willing to include us in talks with their government. Furthermore we have agreed that a border crossing will be opened between our nations for the limited exchange of trade.

We hope that this will lead to a lasting peace between our two nations."

To the People's Republic of America
The people of Greenland have no idea what you're talking about. The Great War didn't affect them at all. They have always lived in their scattered fishing villages since the first Icelandic explorers landed centuries ago.

And all their leaders work for a living. They elders respected for their wisdom, and are deeply involved in the running of their villages. They can't just take time off to go to a conference. And even if they could they wouldn't really have anything to talk about. The people of Greenland really don't see any benefit to having a centralized government. Their way of life worked for their ancestors and it works for them.

No we would not. We wish you well in launching your campaign, as it would distract the SPanish from their American allies, but we do not have anyhing against the Spanish themselves. Our fight is with the Aztlan. Sending forces to Spain would not help us there. In fact it would likely invite the Aztlan to launch an invasion on our own lands to benefit their own allies.

We are interested in hiring your services. The proximity of Russia to our lands makes us a target if they ever wish to invade the Americas. We wish to know what their forces are like so that we can prepare appropriate defenses. Our own agents are inadequate to find out this information so we would like to hire you to do so for us.

Represenatives from the envoys of Spain and Austri-Hungary arrive to see what you have to say.

We might be able to fullfill your requirments, however we will not do so without compensation. What exactly were you offering for this operation?

To Spain/Austro Hungary [PM]

Hello representatives of your esteemed nations. Although you have likely been expecting a free trade conference I have actually called you here for a more sensitive purpose. We have recently obtained information that would be of great importance to your nations. Our spies have intercepted the communications of many nations, and have determined that the continent will likely be at war very soon. Portugal is planning to invade your great nation of Spain, and has been seeking allies to aid it. And to your great nation of Austro-Hungary a different threat emerges. The Roman Empire is looking to reclaim its former territory, which unfortunately include your nation.

You must be wondering why we are telling this to your nations. We are telling you about the Portuguese invasion because Spain is that ally of the Altzan. Should Spain fall it would disrupt the already fragile peace on our continent. And as Rome once controlled Spain we have decided that having the nations of Europe ready for these events would greatly decrease the likelihood of Spain's fall. I hope you take these warnings to heart.

To DUS

The PRA has recently approached us about maintaining a more cordial relationship (or at least attempt to kill each other less). Given that the resulting war would be massive we have agreed to hear them out, and attempt to make a less antagonistic relationship. We will announce this soon, and thought we would give you a heads up.

To PRA [PM]

With no conference our task becomes more difficult. The conflict in Asia is to far removed to have more than a token effect on our people , although it might still be worth it. What we need now is a joint venture to show that we not only talk about good relations, but are willing to work for it. Europe looks to be in a war soon, as Portugal wants to attack Spain, and Rome wants its old empire back. Perhaps we could pick a side and work together when that happens. After all if Spain falls the balance of power here changes, and that would likely result in war while our peoples still hate each other so.

Perhaps in the meantime though there are some resources we could exploit. South America has largely been out of contact for a while. We should send an expedition there, jointly led by our countries to set up mines and timber facilities. Given that they have been out of contact for so long I doubt the people will mind that much. And it is a concrete effort that people could point to in order to show the co-operation.

And if all else fails we could just spout propaganda about Altzan until our people hate them enough to stop hating each other. Keep in mind that if that is what we are relying on we won't actually be able to attack them as when they lost we would likely be at war with each other soon.

International News announcement

In an unprecedented move the Canadian Federal Imperium and the People's Republic of America have stepped forwards together to announce that the tensions between their nations need to be relieved at once. In support of these goals a few tentative agreements were made public. A small border crossing at Niagra falls will be opened for a very limited form of trade between the two nations, in the hopes of developing economic relations. In addition the two nations are going to send a joint expedition to South America to establish the situation there, as a sign of co-operation between the nations.

Several discreet messages arrive for the leadership of all important and even most non-important nations. They detail the formation of a new company specializing in information gathering and, between the lines, other clandestine operations. For the correct price, to be negotiated privately with each client, sabotaging rivals or blackmailing 'allies' is now within reach of even those who lack their own proper intelligence services.

Unrest in the Americas
Announcement of a possible alliance between CFI and PRA is not met with rejoicing. Quite the opposite. A deep generational hatred exists between the two countries and protests begin forming almost as soon as the announcement is made. The militaries of both sides look askance at their leaders, and the border becomes tenser than ever rather than opening as had been hoped.

Peace in Asia
Both Asian wars have wound down. After bitter fighting the Resplendent Empire has been forced out of the Kushan Empire by Kushan and Mongol forces. And the Kushan seem content to return to their old borders rather than continue into Bod.

Meanwhile in the South the invading Khmer empire has been violently repelled by the Majapahit and Satavahana Empire. As a result of this the Khmer Empire also suffered some social upheaval as the ruling government was replaced by a more cautious body.

War in Africa
As if to replace the war in Asia two new wars have begun in Africa. In a surprise invasion the kingdom of Portugal has launched a full blown assault on Kenyuganda and are quickly defeating the defending forces.

Meanwhile long simmering resentments have erupted into full scale hostilities in the south as the Republic of Saloa launched a first strike on Madagascar's mainland territories.

We agree that the announcements could have gone better. We will use our influence with the media to try to calm our people, and recommend you do the same.

We have already taken action of portugal, although we misjudged their intent. We intercepted their communications with Rome and assumed that they were going to conquor Spain. Although we are willing to enter a war be careful about Portugal. They have 22 Military, and so we cannot take them alone. If we are going to intervene militarily we will need allies. Of course we will use our usual covert methods, and try diplomacy first.

When we thought they would invade Spain we were worried. Spain's Alliance with Aztlan lets them have a great effect on the balance of power. Granted none of that is direct, however it is still significant. Should Spain have fallen the balance of power would have shifted, and one or another war would have resulted. Through the streets of Nairobi march the steel shod boots of the empire. Over their once free capital flies the proud flag of Portugal. Walkers of the new type lurch through the streets, their crews sweeping alley ways for remnants of the defending army. The people of Kenyuganda huddle in their homes praying that the invaders will not decide to plunder them, still unsure just why their small unassuming country was the target of such massive and unexpected aggression.

For the Kenyuganda army is no more, shattered by might of Portugal. To further add insult to injury the Ethiopan Caliphate has sent forces to aid their ally Saloa increasing the might of the armies facing Madagascar to gargantuan levels.

For a time all seemed lost for the island nation, but then a miracle. The Australian fleet arrived after a daring sea voyage made without resupply and reinforced the defending lines. With the doughty Australians at their side the Madagascar fighters take new heart and dig in with renewed vigor. Somehow despite all expectations the Saloan army and its allies are held back both on the land and at sea. A brave day indeed for poor Madagascar.

Space the Final Frontier
With the flip of a massive lever the first ever manned space craft has been launched from the Scandanavian union. Despite most alchemists saying that it simply couldn't be done the Scandanavians managed to pack enough power into their Styxium boosters to carry a single man into space. Crowds cheered as the ungainly vessel rose into the clouds shedding massive containers of depleted Kokytium as it rose.

Even more amazingly the first space traveler returned safely and was able to show the first Daguerreotypes of Earth as viewed from space to an admiring crowd. Exultant in this wondrous example of their nations technical prowess the people of Union turned their backs fully into the efforts of the nascent space industry, and soon a full fledged station floated above the northern hemisphere from which three Scandinavians could view the world for a full week at a time.

Most countries scoff at these claims. After all what can a few men do from so high up, but it has been noted that several of the more advanced nations have shifted their alchemists into looking at this frontier more closely.

The Republic of Alaska

The Republic of Alaska was long overdo this. An election in which the old conservative party had finally lost. It was time for new more dynamic party to take the reigns of government and bring Alaska to a new golden age.

Public Message to the world
Hello everyone,

I'm the new leader of Alaska as you may know. What you might not know is how much of a mess the old regime made in office. As such it's almost to impossible to see what was an actual deal or just talking. So I would like all nations that we have an agreement with to please resend us the agreement. As long as the agreement is sane we should have no problems renewing it.

Thank you and sorry for the inconvience.

When the great war started, Madagscar used it as an opportunity to seize territories from the kingdom of Saloa, without any justifiable cause. They are now simply trying to reclaim them."

"It is true, I entered this conflict, intending to be a neutral adjudicator, but the Saloan's have convinced me of the morality of their cause. I understand the Australians are acting due to a political alliance, and I will not fault them for holding to their word. When this conflict is over, I will bear them no ill will. To PRA

Your course of action in Madagascar is unexpected. Unfortunately we will not be capable of helping you at this time, as a geopolitical mess of this size will not be good for our nation. Similarly I do not think you will have much influence on the Portugal situation at the moment due to your military involvement, and lack of public sentiment. We cannot be seen to have a close association either while this war goes on. While we certainly do not want to resume the prior state, we will be more distant, at least until this situation is resolved.

To Alaska (also DUS, although they are not primary recipient)

Although we proposed a deal with your predecessor and were rejected we hope that you will be more agreeable. With the situation on the continent less tense than before we would like to propose that you be included within our military alliance with the DUS.

To Everyone (but Portugal)

We would like to speak with you about the recent invasion by Portugal. One of the major goals of Canada is global stability, and as such we would like to have a discussion about a unified response to such an uncalled for invasion. While the war in Madagascar has the actual cause the Portuguese invasion does not, and a blatant warmonger cannot be allowed to rain destruction on the world unopposed. There is no telling where he will stop. Sanctions are a possibility, as is military action to liberate them, however we would like to have large number of nations acting together to send a clear message.

A Diplomatic Solution is of course the first option that should be considered, however we should have at least something to back our words with, else they will be empty. To razovor
I was perhaps unclear. There is some sentiment that Madagascar is the underdog and that they that they are holding is a point in their favor, but most people don't care about the war one way or the other. The tone of the turn opener, and any future turn openers, is more written however I think will sound more interesting than by which side is globally favored. Especially if niehter side is globablly favored as in this case.

To the Canadian Federal Imperium
There are a few half hearted responses denouncing Portugal, but your diplomats can tell they have about as much impact behind them as strongly worded diplomatic letters ever do, which is to say none. Most people simply don't care about what happened to a bunch of foreigners, and those who do care are more worried about Portugal using their new holdings to expand again than that Portgual actually expanded in the first place.

For the moment the alliance is fairly simple. Any military action against a member of the alliance (Canada, DUS, you if you accept) will be considered an act of war against all members. Offensive Military action is not covered in this agreement, however we are sure that a different agreement on that could be reached eventually should you desire it. It would be preferable if you were to disclose (privately[PM]) what your military strength was as well, so we can better plan.

The continent is fairly tense at the moment, although less so than a few years ago. Aztlan is not well liked (human sacrifice and all), and the communist (PRA, carribean) vs. capitalist (DUS, Canada, presumably you) tensions are still running high, if not at the prior levels. A Military alliance of this sort protects us against action by the other powers on the continent.

Additional agreements on research or espionage could also be reached should you express interest.

We thank you for your support in this issue, however we do not expect that this will come to anything. We have recieved word from most of the worlds nations (OOC: the NPCs) that they do not plan to do anything about the problem. Only us, the PRA, and you have demonstrated that they care at the moment.

The world is getting more unstable every day, and when such a blatant evil is left unchecked we must begin to worry about our own safety. We currently have a military alliance that with the DUS, and in negotiations about including Alaska. Should you want we could open talks to have you included as well. If you would like that please disclose any pre-existing military arrangements that you have.

With this alliance we would be more assured our our own nations safety, and likely would become a more significant power block. While we can't stop Portugal for now, should we emerge as a strong alliance then maybe we can sway international opinion enough to help next time intervention is needed. Although the PRA are not allied, we have descent relations at the moment, and should any major diplomatic problem arise we might be able to count on their support as well. with a 4 nation alliance plus the PRA, and maybe their ally the PRC agreeing with us that this mess can't be allowed, who would ignore us?

P.S. the alliance is purely defensive for the moment, offensive wars would need to be negotiated separately, however given the alliance it is unlikely that they will refuse should there be a good enough cause (ex. stop Portugal)

Very well, should you not wish to enter an alliance it is your decision.

As to the Portugal situation they had last I checked 22 Military, so probably 24 now. unless you have a lot more military than I would guess than you will be crushed. unless victory is actually possible than we see no reason to waste our people's lives.

Keep in mind that they are allied with Russia, and as such will have that military as well. A large group of nations would be needed to make a difference. We would recommend waiting, until you are in a better position. Portugal has won this time, however their greed will not let them stay content with that. When the inevitably expand again is the time to make a stand. In the meantime we should try to work on getting nations together to stop this sort of thing.

Madagascar Expelled
Following a brief respite the forces of Saloa and its allies have resumed their attack. Unfortunately Madagascar was unable to repeat its earlier performance. It's forces fought fiercely, but with supply lines being cut regularly by PRA battle groups the Madagascar defensive lines soon crumbled. Fleeing across the strait they have begun fortifying their island in preparation for further assaults.

In an unexpected twists PRA ships were seen attacking Portuguese merchant convoys prompting a swift retaliation from Portuguese forces remaining in the area. Winning a minor victory the Portuguese fleet prevented a decisive victory from becoming an overwhelming one for the Saloan allies.

Kenyuganda Given to Warlords
The Portuguese government has offered amnesty and full recognition of sovereignty to the warlords of Nigeria in return for pacifying Kenyuganda. The warlords have seized on the offer and already lines of tribal warriors are pouring into the war torn region while caravans of plunder flow the other way. As the brutal warlords take full control the death toll is expected to keep rising and thousands of refugees have begun pouring across the borders into the Ethiopian Caliphate.

Austria-Hungary Invaded
War has finally come to Europe from the east. In an unannounced invasion Russian troops and battle walkers have begun pouring into Austria-Hungary. Completely surprised the defenders were quickly overwhelmed and forced to fall back as Russian troops captured town after town. To add to their injury Portuguese forces, apparently acting in concert with the Russians, have sailed up the Adriatic Sea and begun a coastal invasion in Austria-Hungary's south.

The remaining Austrian-Hungarian forces have withdrawn to their interior territories to set up battle lines, but vow to keep fighting for their country.

The Tripartite Alliance
The Mechaneer Union, the Roman Empire, and the Kingdom of Spain have announced their defensive alliance in light of the rising tide of war in the world. They claim that acting together they will be able to better protect their citizens and work for a better future.

Skeptics have noted that while claimed to be a purely defensive alliance forces from all three have been spotted massing on their Atlantic coasts.

Space Race
Not to be outdone by the Scandinavian union several countries have been seen initiating their own space programs and achieving orbit. From the isles of Ireland massive vessels have been seen climbing into the sky and not returning for weeks. In the Satavahana Empire sleek spires have ascended into the heavens from a central launching platform in lower India. And in North America the DUS have begun launching their own broad sided ships from installations in the mountains.

Border Tensions Rise
Many PRA newspapers and circulated flyers are claiming that information has been leaked proving that the somewhat disastrous attack on the Portuguese merchant ships was in fact caused by forged orders to the commanders of the battle groups in the area. There is a growing sense that some one is trying to weaken the PRA by causing it to engage in battles with other countries who would otherwise not be fighting. And with the obvious enemy of the Canadian Federal Imperium just across the border tensions are on the rise.

Raiders in Africa
Halfway around the globe from their homeland Hawaiian raiders have struck a critical blow against Portugal in the lands of Kenyuganda. Working with Kenyugandan guerrillas they have managed to push back the Nigerian warlords that had been subduing the area. The Kenyugandan people rejoice, but more critical foreign observers point out that the raiders also took advantage of the lack of Portuguese guards to capture the shipment of Oblivion Shards destined for Portuguese factories, a much more valuable commodity on the field of global politics.

This smash and grab was aided by the fact that the Portuguese army was elsewhere at the time. Instead of in Kenyugandan they had been involved in an invasion of Madagascar. At the same time an invasion force from Saloa has landed on Madagascar's western coast. Faced with two fronts and overwhelming armies the Madagascar forces put up a desperate fight to buy time for merchant vessels to evacuate its civilians to the east to Australia.

War in America
In a surprise attack the forces of the People's Republic of America have invaded the Canadian Federal Imperium. Citing the Canadians as the obvious culprit behind the recent forged orders the PRA army has overwhelmed the smaller Canadian defense forces and pushed deep into Canadian territory.

Europe Erupts in Flames
The war continues in Austria. With Portugal pulling its forces out to invade Madagascar the Austrian army has been able to reclaim its southern coast, but that is the only good news for the Austrians as the Russian army has pushed even farther towards the capital, and most believe it is only a matter of months before the kingdom falls.

Further west the Tripartite alliance has launched a massive invasion of the Technocracy of Ireland. Outnumbered 15 to 1 the tiny island country fought a desperate but ultimately futile battle which resulted in the entire country being split in three. Rumors are that the Technocracies leading alchemists in the field of space exploration have been taken to hidden research bases in the three countries.

He held a speech praising the military successes against the ungodly Madagascari and how that was just the beginning of bringing all of Africa back to Gods service.
With his private ministers he discussed much more pragmatic plans of expansion and diplomacy for although he was a devout Kheranist, he never thought of himself as the kind of zealous crusader his Saloan allies were.

To the PRA
I would like to express the gratitude of the Caliph and the people of Ethiopia and ask if the PRA would be willing to commense trade relations with the Caliphate.

To the King of Portugal
Although I had no love for the previous regime of Kenyuganda, I know little about you and your country. It seems that since your conquest petty warlords of all shades are terrorizing the Kenyugandan civilians and driving more and more refugees into my territory. Surely you understand my concerns. Therefore I request you to create a stable provincial government and win support of the civil population by reinstating the old state church that the previous regime had abolished. I am willing to aid you with this in the best of my posibilities and will actively help you root out any loyalists and disgruntled warlords.

To GM

In the open message below, when I say I present the evidence that I gathered in the ESP investigation. The reason I put this is that I would like you (the GM) to confirm that I am not just making stuff up, and that this evidence actually exists. Cause I don't actually have documents to show them (as this is an online game).

Open Message (to Everyone)

We the people of Canada have been greatly wronged. This war by the PRA was launched completely without actual justification. We were NOT the ones that forged the orders that they claim started this war.

The results of our investigation have come in and we have found that a different nation has hired Luxemburg to place these orders, clearly intending us to be framed. We also know who hired them, but will let the evidence speak for itself on that issue.

*presents evidence*

OOC: I have told the GM to confirm the results of my investigation (the provide evidence thing). When he presents them the nation that hired them shall be revealed. And my truthfulness shall be confirmed.

We ask that all nations that would oppose this barbarity would stand with us, and aid our fight against the PRA.

To DUS

We would like to invoke the military alliance that we have with you, and we remind you of the clause of aiding us by helping us technologically as well. Furthermore we would request that you start trying to convince Alaska and Altzan to join the war on our side. Australia recently ended up in a war with the PRA (if indirectly) so they might be persuaded to join us as well. Let us hope we can rally enough forces to end this quickly. We should focus on the PRA, and leave the PRC for later, as the PRA has more potential allies.

To Altzan

We would like to talk to you about that war going on. We would request your involvement on our side. When the PRA is dealt with we will help against the PRC, should we survive the war. Also the following message was intercepted from the PRA

message (To Ethiopia)

"Thank you. I would be quite glad to initiate trade relations between our people."

"If I may, might I ask your opinion on the Aztlan government? I understand your allies the Saloans are avid enemies of them. Would you be willing to support me, should they decide to take military action against me?"

Clearly they mean to take action against you, anyway, so it would be in your interest to try to end this now.

To Alaska

Although we didn't finish negotiating the Defense contract we would greatly appreciate your help in this war. We estimate the relative troop strength of Canada and the DUS to be slightly below the PRA's military strength, however we are in talks with Altzan to bring them in on our side of the war. That should even us out with the PRA, and maybe the PRC. We do not think the PRC to be a large military power, however we have not been able to gather intelligence from them for some time. With your aid however we should probably be capable of winning this war.

If nothing else we can win by attrition. If Altzan and you join us we produce (combined) 8 MIL/turn, while the PRA/PRC produces 4/turn.

Also try to convince Australia to join. They are not friends of the PRA, and may wish to help us get rid of them. Quebec seems unlikely, but maybe if someone not us asks they will accept.

As you have surely noticed we have recently become involved in a war with the PRA. As you fought on opposite sides of the Madagascar war we thought you might be willing to help in this war as well. Are you willing to become involved?

We are pleasantly surprised that you accepted before a timeline for completion was given for the tech. We graciously accept your offer. If you would contact Alaska and Altzan and tell them of your involvement it would be appreciated. They currently have not decided to join yet, but seem likely allies. The addition of your forces to ours and the DUS might sway them into allying with us. Do you know of any other nations that might ally with us?

Also Quebec is unlikely to listen to a proposal by us, however if other nations were to talk to them, maybe they could be persuaded that it is in their interest to join against the PRA.

And thanks for the offer of a place should we be forced to leave our nation.

We will send over the Hell Pit resource shortly. We recommend opening a second front on the PRA by landing troops onshore (if you can find a site to land without too many casualties) and making a push for the capital. the scouts can be integrated with our espionage network, and with a combined 25 ESP will go right past the defense of the PRA on that front. Hopefully their military can be made less effective.

Also should it become necessary to gain a new ally how would you feel if we offered to include a new nation in this research agreement? We will not do so without your consent of course, but it might help persuade more reluctant nations.

To DUS

We would like to know the current extent of the military forces you have available. as well as any intelligence assets. Pooling intelligence reasources will likely make us more effective.

To Altzan [PM]

Ou military has been significantly reduced by the surprise attack. Prior to this we had 10 MIL, so the PRA likely has approx 20 (minus whatever the invasion cost them). The PRC we have little intelligence on, but guess that they do not have more than 10 MIL as they spent large amount on ESP. defense.

The Grim are sending 9 MIL. The DUS are being contacted. As a preliminary guess I would say that they would likely have 10 MIL. This would make the current force distributions relativly even, were it not for the recent involvement of Scandanavia. They have sent 8 MIL, 3 ESP.

Research: we have 5 (not really our speciality) Grim have sent 6 to help finish the aformentioned research project. DUS has a lot, not sure on exact numbers.

ESP: The PRC is largely impenitrable to our spies, however they are generlly not inclined to offensive espionage. We have combined 25 ESP, and are waiting on word of how much the DUS has on that front. If the PRC puts their spies on offense we can infiltrate them easily, so I doubt they will contribute too much. I plan to hire luxenburg to help as well, as their ESP combined with ours will completely destroy the PRA's defenses.

With your involvement the tide of war would be turned in our favor, as the MIL would likely push us into the advantage in military forces. Any ESP would also allow us to completely screw up their chain of command, which would make their militart even less effective (assasinations, sabotage etc.)

Do not believe the PRA's talk. We know for a fact that the Ethiopians will not be supplying troops to this conflict (see intercepted message 1 below {I love high ESP}), so we can certainly know they are lying to keep you from intervening.

They have recently secured Scandinavian support, but only 8 MIL and 3 ESP is being provided. (see message 2)

and they have received no offers of aid from Saloa, as yet, and given that Madagascar is still in a state of war I doubt they will expect much aid for a while (although they have asked for a private meeting with representatives).

And given the troop commitments they have we are close to even at the moment, not 2:1 as they claim (at least according to our estimates).

Given that we have more espionage than their alliance can reasonably field I would put it at an even fight for the moment. Better to join us and get rid of your enemy than just wait for them to stab you in the back.

We hear that the PRA are interested in aquiring your aid in the war on us. In fact despite the fact that they have not actually asked you yet they already speak as though you have made an agreement to help. Not ein this communication that we recieved a while ago that the PRA has not even yet asked the Saloans about the war, and the Ethiopians have not agreed either, yet they presume their involvement. "You should note that with the Scandinavians, Ethopians, and Saloans on our side, we outnumber our enemies more than 2-1."

To the Aztlan and Canadians
"That is simply a lie. The Ethopians message to us only states that that they may all their troops to this conflict, during this season. What remains of Madagascar's forces can't be considered a serious threat. They will undoubtedly be finished by the end of the year, freeing up all of Ethopians resources to aid us."

"The Scandinavian contribution is not as large as some, but their military alone matches the Canadians. They also bring another set of oblivion gates, to increase our sides strength as the war goes on, and their morale and research may prove useful in the long-run."

"I have seen your 'estimates'. It quite amuses me how much you underestimate my forces. As our intelligence capabilities, you can hardly claim to have more than us. Our numbers are greater, and the Caribbean's contribution almost matches your own."

"I find it quite troublesome, that Canadians are trying to instil this hatred between your people and the Ethopians. You know their is nothing wrong with your beliefs, the Ethiopians simply do not understand them. Their is no reason you can't have a peaceful coexistence."

To the Saloans and Canadians
"I apologise, if it was presumptuous of me, to speak as if I had already secured your support. Given our previous relations, I did not think it was a significant stretch. The Canadians are clearly trying to over-exaggerate my failing, to further their own cause."

To the Scandinavians and Canadians
"The Ethopians have agreed, they are simply unsure how many forces to deploy this year. With the conflict in Madagascar coming to a close, they will be entirely available after this season, if not now"

"We consider the Saloans our close friends. We stood by them, and aided them in freeing their lands from Malagasy oppression. It is not a stretch to say they will aid us, but it is true we have no finished negotiations with them."

"I should also note, that the Canadians can not possibly know what our government says in private discussions with other nations. We could have secured the Saloans help, before this conflict even began. They do not know, so anything they state as a certainly, is deception. They are trying to mislead and control you."

To Portugal:
You may have misunderstood me. The warlords are the problem. Expecting some glorified Nigerian thugs to give up their newfound power and ability to exploit common Kenyugandan citizen seems naive. What we want for Kenyuganda is a centralized government protecting the people and upholding those traditional values that had been valid up until Madagascar medled with their government around the time of the great world war. Why would a bunch of autonomous warlords who rule with the right of might accept a government that rules with the right of law?

Portugal will not see reason. They heeded none of us when the world condemned their actions the first time. They will only respond to force. And what will you have to back up your words should you help the PRA against us? Your only method of using force would be tied up elsewhere. We recommend that you stay out of this conflict. We were after all very vocal in being against Portugal before now, and the PRA while they offered moral support didn't actually attempt to do anything. Would you really let you interests go to support a war that benefits no one but the PRA if they win?

"That's hardly fair. You were certainly vocal about stopping Portugal, but you did absolutely nothing about it. A whole year, and no action at all. You gathered a few supporters, but did nothing with them. You were much more concerned with building up a military alliance, to protect yourself. When Hawaii actually did something about the situation, they were left to take all of Portugal's ire. I would have helped, but as we agreed, it was my duty to solve the crisis in South Africa, a duty I completed."

"As to Portugal, they have been most receptive in negotiating reasonable terms regarding Kenyuganda. In the unlikely event they betray those terms, the world will still be in a state to stop them. Perhaps more so, without your disruptive influence."

The Canadian's have presented relatively solid proof that Luxembourg was indeed behind the forged orders and also spread the news that the orders were forged among the PRA's citizens well before the official announcement. There is also somewhat less definitive proof that the Luxembourg agents were hired by Portugal.

To Russia
You won't be able to reverse engineer any of Austria's weapons without first winning.

DUS to the Canadian Federal Imperium
Of course we will mobilize our forces. However you must realize that we cannot simply leave the PRC for later. They will attack alongside their ally just as we are moving to defend you. And since they border us and not you, that attack will likely come through our own territory.

The DUS provide information that they have approximately 5 Mil ready to mobilize and about the same amount of intelligence assets. The provide blueprints for their latest weapons research as well, but you will need to implement it yourself before it becomes fully effective.

Australia to the Canadian Federal Imperium
We appreciate that you may have been distracted by your own issues, but realize that we still fight the war that the PRA was briefly involved in. They may have withdrawn, but our other enemies have not. As such we cannot aid you at this time.

To the Canadian Federal Imperium
Your scientists estimate that the units will be ready for distribution after only a few more months of testing. Testing has already been completed, and now they only need to be manufactured.

If the Grim aids you then the scientists will be able to start work on improving the units, but it won't speed it up any further as they would be completed with your own efforts already.

The Empire of the Resplendent Sun to the Canadian Federal Imperium
We have little interest in your, and we do not wish to take losses when our own borders are threatened by the vile Khmer. We would need an agreement that you would replenish all our losses from your own mines. And aid in our research projects for at least one year.

Quebec to the Grim
We have seen no indication the PRA will attack us. In fact aiding you may draw attacks that otherwise would not come. If you do not have a better offer we see no reason to aid you.

Arkadaslik Union to the People's Republic of America
Will you support us in our war against the Roman Empire?

The Khmer Empire to the People's Republic of America
Cede us at least two of the Hade Pits that you capture and we will join your forces.

Bod to the People's Republic of America
Prove to us that they are in fact treacherous. So far we have seen the Canadians offer proof that they are not behind the attacks on you, while you offer nothing but words.

The Kheranic Republic of Saloa to the People's Republic of America
We are willing to hear your emissary.

The People's Republic of Caribbean to the People's Republic of America
Offer them tribute. On top of all the indignities we have suffered at their hands. Never! We would rather attack each other than willingly aid those wretches.

The Roman Empire, Mechaneer Union, and Kingdom of Spain to the People's Republic of America
We see no need for one. We are not worried about an attack by your forces, and do not wish to limit our options if others were to approach us with better offers to aid them against you.

The Arkadaslik Union to the Canadian Federal Imperium
We care little for proof or counter proof. Pledge to aid us in our war against the Roman Empire and we will aid you.

The Khmer Empire to the Canadian Federal Imperium
The PRA has promised us the right to plunder your lands and offered to form a great alliance. What can you offer us that is greater than that?

Bod to the Canadian Federal Imperium
We are willing to listen to your words, but have no wish to aid either side of this conflict.

The Kheranic Republic of Saloa to the Canadian Federal Imperium
And yet they aided us in our war against the Madagascar. They have offered us strong proof of their friendship. What have you offered us besides words?

The Kingdom of Spain to the Aztlan Hegemony
We have no preference, and will aid whoever you think is the better choice. The Tripartite will not become involved as a whole outside the continent, but just as we will aid you, we cannot state what the other members will do individually.

The Kheranic Republic of Saloa to the Caliphate of Ethiopia
We have been working on removing our dependence on Acherium not using it. We have developed vehicles which are able to move and fight without using Acherium. We would be happy to share our advances and work with you on future projects.

The DUS to Portugal
We have several advanced walker types we can share the plans for with you. And we would be willing to aid you and developing a war machine. What did you have in mind?

OOC: Given that I just revealed it no. But also because they aren't going to send you anything. Because they have a line of enemies between them and you and they're afraid of interception. If you want it you'll have to come to them, which you will have to anyway if you're going to fight the Hawaiians, which is the whole reason they're willing to share it in the first place. So they see no reason to make any effort to try and send it through hostile lines.

We are both replying to each others "secure" communications due to the fact that we both have access to espionage networks that can find out about them. For instance my espionage network can intercept everything that the PRA sends, and the PRC can intercept everything I can send, and tell their ally the PRA everything. We have long ago given up the pretense that either of us can keep anything secure with all but the most extreme precautions (PMs).

And we were in fact doing something against portugal. we attempted to gather a coalition of nations that could have stopped them, and forced a favorable end to that situation. Granted it failed miserably, but it was certainly more than the PRA did. We were also attempting to use our espionage network to see if we could gain some leverage, however they caught onto us before we got anything descent. After the general message failed we focused on building an alliance that could stop Portugal the next time they started war, as well as use that as a justification to fix the current problems. However the PRA's attack through all of our Portugal related plans into jeopardy. If we had a free hand maybe we could have done more. Perhaps we would have used our espionage to help hawaii in the war. Perhaps we would have tried to gather enough nations that hawaii could have crushed them.

Also given that they had nearly twice our military strength at the time we obviously couldn't risk military intervention without allies (which we tried to get).

Our concerns about Portugal were mainly centered around their occupation and destruction of Kenyuganda. They never stated any aims, and thus it seemed mindless destruction. Giving it to the warlords was further proof of this. I do not think they actually cared for the change of governments. Should they have stated their aims as a governmental change, and actually done this well then we would of course be less hostile to them. We merely think that they are unlikely to fix the situation soon. Of course we have our own grievances with the now, but we are not really talking about those at the moment. Would you rather support the PRA, who would do nothing to change the Kenyuganda situation, or one such as ourselves who at least attempted to help on that front.

Developments: 1. Emipre of Resplendent Sun is going to fight against Khmer Empire so as to deny the PRA an ally. When they are done they will help in the Americas. 2. PRA negotiating with The Ardaslik Union is trying to negotiate for involvement in the war. Be careful on the European front. Rome is at odds with them, so you might be able to convince them to help. Recommend you avoid pre-emptive action though (the deal hasn't been finalized yet). 3. Mechaneer Union is interested in tech in exchange for involvement. They were first approached by the PRA, but they are only interested in tech, so we might be able to get them on our side with the invisibility. 4. Ethiopia has gotten weapons tech from Saloa. It is unclear why they wanted it, but as they are friendly with the PRA we should at least keep track of this. America Erupts in Flames
As forces mass on the border of the Canadian Federal Imperium the defending forces entrench and prepare for a new assault. With numerous allies they feel confident of repelling any assault. And so they wait, and wait, and wait for an attack that fails to materialize. Eventually their agents return, and to their horror the Canadian forces realize that the People's Republic of America does not intend to attack them at all. Instea the PRA is moving on the Democractic Union.

Hurredly the forces mobilize to move to meet the new threat, but armies are slow, and only a few units are able to reach the DUs in time. The attack when it comes is like a hammer fall on the nearly defenseless DUS. From the skies of the PAcific Hawaiian raiders rain down death and destruction. From south Caribbean landers hit the beaches and release masses of infantry to press further in. And from the east the juggernaut of the People's Republic of America hammers into the DUS lines. Fortunately the Aztlan and Grim forces are still moving north and are able to respond int time to prevent a total rout, but the destruction is staggering and the DUS has been dealt a heavy blow. In retribution the Canadian forces not able to make the battlefield in time have instead moved east and taken back all the territorial gains that the PRA made in its initial strike.

But as it turns out the DUS are not the worst hit in this war. Even as the forces of the PRC were invading the DUS the Aztlan were launching their own invasion. With the help of their Spanish allies the island nation's few remaining defenses were crushed, and it populace defeated. All that remains of the PRC is what was on the mainland at the time. And in an ironic twist newly conquered territories have become their last bastion.

Africa Simmers
In Kenyuganda what was once a routine suprresion of the populace has become a war of attrition. Although not as large as the greater conflicts in the world it is no less real as the Nigerian warlords battle the Kenyugandan rebels for control. The warlords backed by Portugal and the rebels by Hawaii. Being close to the area the Portuguese have managed to gain a key advantage in supplying weapons to their allies, and the warlords are slowly gaining ground on the rebels.

And in the most unexpected turn of the wheel Portugal, rather than continuing its invasion, has delared Madagascar a protectorate of its empire and moved to defend the beleagured nation against its invaders. Faced with this fresh infusion of troops the Saloan and Ethiopian forces have been repulsed, and the island nation maintains it's defenses for another round of war.

Europe Goes to War
With many nations involved in the American conflict the Romans have decided that the time is opportune to rid themselves of a lingering annoyance in the form of the Arkadaslik Union. However the Union appears to have been alerted to the incoming attack, and what would have been a swift victory has degenerated into a major conflict. Outnumbering the defenders Roman legions are pressing forward hard, but it is not the easy run that they had anticipated.

Unsurprisingly the Russians have also completed their conquest of Austria. Despite managing to inflict additional damage on the encroaching army in their last battle the Austrians were unable to fend off the Russian Bear forever, and has surrendered. Reports are that a small resistance movement has formed to combat the new conquerors.

Asia
(I made a mistake. The Khmer Empire is not the enemy of the Resplendent Empire. That is the Kushar Empire. Since what I said they were going to do last turn was predicated on that they are not going to do so. Instead they will enter the conflict one way or another this turn.

Caliphate of Ethiopia
(Def.Esp 14)

"What in the five hells do you mean Portugese protectorate?"
The military advisor almost seemed to cower in front of Caliph Abudjib Odesmaha Umenei III, who was angrily shaking the war-reports that he just read. "You..your Highness. It means that Portugal has for some reason decided to put Madagascar under its military protection."
"I know what the word means you fool but why would King Jose defend the Malagasy?"
Abudjib sat on his throne brooding and fiddling with the papers in his hand. "What is he trying to achieve..?"
"Maybe he felt pity for his fellow royal and..." "Keep your musings for yourself and do something useful. Go call the scribe."

To Portugal:

To: His Majesty King Jose II of Portugal

Dear Jose, fellow leader of your people as I am of mine.
By declaring the Kingdom of Madagascar to be under your protection in the middle of the war and authorizing your forces to aid them without any prior warning you have carried out de facto acts of war against the Caliphate and the Republic of Saloa.
Although it is a pretty hurtful insult that you attack my men while we were in the middle of negotiations on a completely different topic, know that I do not desire a war between our two nations. They probably didn't even know they were fighting Portugese troops when these assaulted them out of nowhere.
Your actions have brought me into a very difficult position. I should be demanding reparations, but I will refrain from that, as long as you give me a solid explanation and stop attacking my troops and those of my allies without any previous announcement.
By the way, it is pretty obvious that you actually give military support to your pet warlords in Kenyuganda and I will thus hold you responsible for any violent actions they take against the unarmed populace or any civil aid and peacekeeping groups from my country.
May God bless your bloodline.

Thank you for your frankness and honesty. Any causus belli would be Portugals responsibility.
However I advise you to choose wisely who and how you continue to support. Any further use of military force in African internal affairs is discouraged and we urge you to not get involved in the war on Madagascar as that would be seen as a breach of goodwill between our countries.

The warlords agree, but only as long as you restrict your assistance to the Kenyuganda people with no ties to the resistance. Since to do otherwise would be to aid their enemy whether you provide weapons or merely humanitarian aid.

To Hawaii and Ethiopia
The Kenyuganda Resistance is the remains of the former Kenyugandan government. As far as their concerned the fall of Kenyuganda was a major setback, but not a complete death blow. They are willing to accept aid against the warlords, especially with Portugal back them, but their primary goal is to reestablish Kenyuganda not form some kind of vassal state to another pwoer. They are fighting for their freedom, and no matter how much you try to dress it up even asking if they would ask autonamy rather than independence is enough to highlight the fact that you are not offering that freedom.

My dear brother in the eyes of God
I am planning to send this to the Portugese king and am hoping for your approval and blessing beforehand. Feel free to tell me if you disagree with anything.
To: His Majesty King Jose II of Portugal

Is that all you have to say?
You authorize an underhanded attack on my men in a war that doesn't concern you in any way and to ammend that you propose to stop something you shouldn't even have started as a sign of good faith? And also that just as a compromise to get me from not doing something that I never eluded to be planning to do in the first place. Your believe that I would help the previous Kenyugandan government to regain power shows how out of place and clueless you are in the continent of Africa.
I stated my terms in my previous letter, in which I was asking for a solid explanation and the end of all hostilities, but after you now have added insult to injury I will add additional terms. In addition to explaining what the reasons behind your actions were, you are to tell me the troop positions and plans of Madagascar and forfeit your territory on that island to the Kheranic Alliance (Saloa and Ethiopia), preferably just before a major combat. You are also to publicly announce and actively work on transforming Kenyuganda into an autonomous colony under your control instead of an anarchic area controlled by foreign warlords and merely exploited by you. We are willing to aid you here.
Learn to be more respectful and these negotiations may end up with us both working peacefully together instead of being in conflict.

King Jose I of Portugal to Ethiopia

''My reason for protecting the Madagascar against your invasion was simple. When the kingdom of Saloa launched their war of conquest, they have secured massive military assistance from the PRA by promising to limit the military operations to retaking the Madagascar territories on the mainland Africa, after which they would pursue peace. This promise was broken or rather I don’t think Saloa were ever going to uphold it. As a man of honour, I have felt that if there is one constant in this world, it would be man’s own word. So seeing this injustice I’ve dispatched my armies to aid Madagaskar in defending their homeland.''

''As for your request for military intelligence on your enemy’s disposition, I assume most of the Madagascar’s troops are decomposing across the battlefields, where your American allies have slaughtered them. Why you would want to have intelligence on a nation that was in such disparate military situation, that they asked for Portugal's help, I have no idea.''

''I have no interest in having territory on Madagascar, so your request for me to abandon it can be safely granted. Abandoning it before a major battle would be a vile betrayal. You must see, that as a military man, such act would dishonour me and thus making such request is unbecoming.''

''I will concede to your request of making Kenyuganda into a proper Portuguese colony.''

''Your citizens would be able to avoid any bodily harm to them, if they stay the right side of the border. I’m perfectly aware you are trying to woo the Kenyugandan population to your side and I have placed no orders to stop, what is essentially a foreign subversion attempt in an already politically unstable situation. Making threats, while you are the one sending your citizens into the harms way for your political agenda appears to be rather discourteous.''

The Caliph found it rather quirky that king Jose II decided to answer in a newspaper rather than in a private letter, but wouldn't let himself be taken aback by this breach of privacy.

To King Jose II of Portugal:

Let me clear up several misconceptions you seem to have.
First of all, the Kingdom of Saloa is no more. It hasn't existed since the times of the Great War. My nations alliance is with the Kheranic Republic of Saloa ruled by the reighteous and devout leader that is Samubai Imikheras.
Second, I am pretty sure that it was never said that we only planned to take back the holy lands and wouldn't make sure that the Kingdom of Madagascar, an enemy to our way of life for centuries, would be a threat no longer. I know that the PRA only agreed to aid us in the first part of this crusade, but I do not know if there was a misconception on their part or if the PRA had other reasons to act as they did.
Lastly, it is not a political agenda when my people come to the aid of their hungering and oppressed brothers in Kenyuganda. You could call it a religious agenda, but I won't forbid them from preaching the truth. I am sure that they will abide to your laws and be willing to be monitored once there is an actual rule of law established instead of the rule of these Nigerian thugs who call themselves Lords of Kenyuganda, who by the way are the only ones I have threatened.
I will apologize for my rather unethical request regarding your current standing with Madagascar. I was angry when I wrote that and it is right that you should make it perfectly clear when you end an alliance. May God forgive me, for if it wasn't for your honor, my anger could have had grave consequences.
God bless you and your dynasty.
-His Highness the Caliph Abudjib Odesmaha Umenei III of Ethiopia

To Saloa [9]:
Now that Portugal has publicly announced that they will not aid Madagascar any longer, do you think that a request for total surrender comming from you in return for sparing their lives and allowing anyone who is not important to leave or live a life under our laws would be the right course of action?

Turn 9, January, 1937 CE

The world is truly at war now. In the east and the west, in the north and the south. Entire countries draw themselves up preparing for what they see as an inevitable conflict, while the ones actually involved in the war send forth massive armies to clash with their enemies.

The current wars are the most brutal in North America. In the North the PRA has continued its assault on the Democratic Union of States. For a time it appeared that the defenders would hold out bolstered as they were by their Canadian and Grim allies. But rather than withdrawing to resupply as expected the PRA commanders instead continued to send wave after wave of undersupplied and already wounded troops at the DUS fortifications. Worn down under a sea of corpses the DUS lines eventually broke and the red tide poured forward to the Pacific coast, nominally still under the control of Hawaii. The Canadians reeling at the loss of their foremost ally retreated north and established new defensive lines slightly south of their old border with the DUS.

Further south in the Caribbean the PRA's allies did not fare so well. The Scandinavian and Russian fleets, bolstered by the exiled PRC forces moved to attack the Aztlan Hegemony. But they were unable to catch the formidable natives off guard. Intercepted by the floating monoliths of the Aztlan home fleet along with several Spanish battleship groups the coalition of European forces were soundly between and forced to sail north to take refuge in friendly harbors.

Slightly lower key were the wars in Africa. In the south the Saloan/Madagascar war finally drew to a close as the last Madagascar defenders were defeated abandoned by their short lived Portuguese protectors. As the last Australian ships withdrew the Saloan flag was raised over the former capital of Madagascar.

Further north the Nigerian warlords clashed with the Kenyuganda resistance and slowly gained the upper hand, even as the Portuguese forces again abandoned the area under mysterious circumstances.

Those circumstances were revealed shortly later as the entire Portuguese armada steamed through the Pacifica Ocean bypassing every other island and country on its way to its final destination, Hawaii. Frantic Hawaiian defenders recalled the numerous exploratory expeditions the small kingdom had sent out, and just barely was able to repel the initial Portuguese assaults. In Europa Portuguese officials have denied the war, saying that the orders sending the Portuguese forces east were forged. Most however do not believe this explanation as it is too pat, and Hawaii has offered provocations to the aggressive Portuguese king before.

In Europe itself the Roman Empire continues its campaign against the Arkadaslik. The Arkadaslik defenders have fought hard and managed to slow the Romans down. But most independent analysts believe it is only a matter of time before the superior Roman Legions achieve victory.

Finally in Asia the Empire of the Resplendent Empire has launched another attack on their hated enemies the Kushan. Attacking swiftly they have advanced from eastern portion of their ally Bod accompanied by forces of the newly expanding Grim, and have managed to wreak havoc in the surprised Kushan Army. The Kushan have called on their Mongol allies, and vowed to push the Resplendent Sun back once more.

The Antarctic (Eastern Ice shelf)

A large figure is walking, dressed in well worn fur and leather, with his only weapons his hands, and his spears. Nearly six feet tall, with grey hair, and bleaker eyes then the deep sea floor, he's walking calming, yet wairly, to a open gulch. Even those who do not claim to be mystics can feel it here. A coldness, not the clean, crisp clood of the land, but as if the borders between the living and the dead are much thinner here.

This is no place for the living, the land sees to say. You have no place here. Here, you with beating heart, with warm flowing blood, tread where mortals dare not go but once. For this is deaths domain, and you are not ready.

And so, the Thane begins to brood, knowing that they await him.

The wars were going bad and well. Fighting is fighting, and the pay is good. But what good is it to fight and lose? What good is it to have nothing left? The only good victory is killing them, and not having many of yours die. However, when they cannot see common sense, drastic mesures are called for.

The wind is howling, sheriking like the damned souls that wander here. No matter what those warmlanders say, there are things out there that wait beyond the hearthfires, things that were once here, but now waiting to come back in. But that is not the point. I didn't come here to think about relgion or mystisim. I came here to deal with the Dead.

Inside the Gulch

The wind howling between the walls singing a agless lament, words are spoken.

"Leave the dead to their duty. Or join us."

The dead. Dishonored and cast out, deprived of weapons and clothes, to live or die by their own innate might. Few 'survived'. There only means to atone, to seek a final death against the most savage beasts they could. Many have died fighting the orcas, several with leapord seals. At other times, they arranged great melees, where they fought each other to the death.

"The Living call for the dead. The Warmlands are filled with war. There, the dead may have blood to sate their hunger. Their they may find redemption for their crimes. There, the dead can seek death. The ships sail soon."

Around the gulch, from several hidden caves, the Dead emerge. As large as the thane, wwith the apprence of wild beasts. Clad in crude leather, or rather skins of penguin and seal, with clubs or axes of stone, they do not look like man. They remeble something from a past man has tried desperatly to bury, to forget the shame of being far closer to animal then sentient.

And one moves up to the Thane, almost towering over him. A thousand scars adorn his body, his hair white with age. But this is the most fell of the Dead, the one they call the Reaper. The Legends spoken amongst the hearths tell of his exploits, to seek a brave death. His axe, Nameless is told to have been made of the bones and teeth of the Orca that gave him his name. And he wears the skin!

"The Dead hear. The Warmlands shall know the Dead, and we shall seek our attonment there."

The Thane nods, and leaves. The Dead will come to the ships, and the Warmlands will learn a valuble lesson. Do not fear death. There is far worse.

Hawaii (Mauna Kea)
The tower of four terrestrial planes was the highest point in Hawaii. On its highest floor was a lantern that guided ships to harbor in the homelands furthest island. At its base was a doorway 40 feet high, through which his ancestors had walked in and out before the planes of magma had cooled. Northstar, head of the house of Sky, named king of Hawaii, stood in the center of his capital feeling miles away from any living being. He was not old, but he was childless, and his house had never been fecund, if events went awry his house would switch lines as the other three houses named on this tower had years before.
It had been 160 years since hostile forces were visible from this tower, a signal to begin an age that could now be a signal to end it. Hawaiians liked to brag that no invader had ever stepped foot upon their soil, a boast that had morphed into an almost religious maxim, but time can bring insight as well as detachment in our understanding of the past. Many of his people saw, as they looked upon the Portuguese fleet, how far from this statement of fact were the things about their country and their world they had held their shore’s inviolateness to signify. Most expected Portuguese troops to gain a beachhead in weeks. Nihilistic despair permeated the ebb and flow of the islands defense preparations.
In the dark of night, illuminated periodically as the light of the lantern above passed over the window, Northstar communed with his ancestors. The people of Hawaii bound their souls to Kokytium so that they may be physically present with their loved ones as they are in their memories, and so that in a time of need they can help their loved ones one last time. His family's stone was one of the first split shards and 5 generations had confined their souls to it, thanks to his brother’s untimely death. Holy men carried shards over the paths and through the tunnels of the ash fields where over a millennia of the island's people had been interred before, seeking to gain their voices.
The temptation was great to use these souls to destroy the Portuguese invaders, calling upon the soil of the islands to defend itself and allowing the soldiers recently killed to exact their vengeance. If he called upon the power of his ancestors as a gesture many would follow, even as a king seen only as less disappointing then the noble houses he feuded with. The presence of their parents and brothers in arms would bolster the spirits of the Hawaiian soldiers and give a show of power that would grow Hawaii’s legend across the world. But his brother did not live his life for spite and the holy men on the slopes below him did not walk their paths for pride. Every family and shrine could make their own decision, but while he was its head the house of Sky would not call upon the final act of its souls to kill their fellow men, even those like the Portuguese with which it adamantly disagreed.
With his choice made, Northstar left the tower to lift the wills of his island's defenders with his own voice. They would fight the Portuguese in the water where they lay, on the beaches when they crossed, and even to the tower where his ancestors sang. Because of his decision many of them would die. He could only pray that their souls were equally inclined towards mercy.

The Front Lines (southern Alberta)

John peaks up over the hastily erected fortifications along the newly set up front lines against the PRA. He sees what remains of the battlefield as the PRA forces pursued the remaining DUS survivors north. The lines had held against the onslaught, but many had died. The war was not going well, not well at all. The fall of the DUS meant the loss of a vital ally, and he just hoped taht the catastrophic losses the PRA took taking the place would let them win out.

He then hears the voice of his friend Taylor coming from over his shoulder saying You never get used to seeing this do you? And to think that this all started over some orders the Portuguese forged. a few lines on a page caused all of this death, without even effecting the party that caused this. John looks over at the man, not having noticed him until he spoke up. He nods in agreement and turns to say something when he hears a bang and Taylor slumps to the ground dead, a hole in his head. Sniper he yells, quickly pulling his head down.

Parliament (Central Alberta)

Prime Minister Bennett looked around at his cabinet as he paces around the room. So what do you think about this Portugal situation? He looks around, and the first one to speak up is the minister of defense. Well, they are obviously engaging Hawaii at the moment, so I doubt that they will have the resources to engage us at the moment, and their claims that we did it ring hollow. I mean the PRA said something similar and Portugal was behind it, so clearly they are not above things like this. They probably are just trying to distract everyone so that they ignore Portugal's actions. Bennett nods slowly and says Let's hope you're right, because we do not need another enemy in this war. Hopefully this is just a ruse to distract from their invasion of Hawaii.

Research Labs (Location Classified)

Paul looks around his new Quarters, thinking them a tad spartan but it isn't like he has any other option at the moment. With the DUS occupied it wasn't like he had anywhere else to go. At least here his research would be put to good use avenging the deaths of his comrades. thinking to himself he thought why did this war happen? It all just seems so pointless. a simple accusation that wasn't even Canada's and the entire world breaks out into a gigantic war. He stares at the picture of his family on his desk for a while, before marching to the labs, hoping to put his talents to good use.

The Front Lines (southern Alberta)

These warmlands are... intresting. A bloody morasses, where even deep winter never seems to bring peace. Not that they know anything about true winter, not here.

The corpses pilling up, in a way, it is a good thing. The PRA may have overrun, but how many did they lose? You lose to many, it becomes a war where the scavanger is the true victor. Nonethless, tonight, will be a good night, admist the screams and shadows.

The PRA Camps

Don't these foolish Warmlanders ever learn? We've been cutting their necks for months, stealing their supplies, and they offer no true resistence. Bah, they've never been hardened. Tonight, a few more of their soldiers will die. Tonight, a few more warriors will never wake. It's looking to be a good night.

Parliament (Central Alberta)

A Jarl stands outside the doors. Strange to see buildings of stone aboveground. Still, to each their own.

When he manages to find someone that looks important, he bluntly states his message. "We leave this night to hunt them in our bands. Ambush, poison, disease, these we will use to gut them. We'll see you at Hollows Moon." And with that, he leaves.

The Front Lines (southern Alberta)

The Hunting bands gather, each with it's own leader, each with it's own fell purpose. They will head south. They will kill everything attached to the millitary. They will incite a fear in them that it will echo in their blood for a thousand generations! They will not fight as armies. Not against such overwhelming force. They will hunt in small bands, invisable, unseen. They will be the death from the shadows, that flicker of movement you see before all goes dark. They've gotten serious.

President William Jefferson sat in the oval office, seat of power for the newly united States of America. He casually sipped a glass of tea, as General Douglas MacArthur went over the latest figures from the war.

..."All in all, we've suffered six million casualties this season."

William mulled over the number for a moment.

"Those are acceptable losses. The advantage is now ours in the north"

"But at the cost of so many men...."

"Is that not the purpose of the military? A group of men willing to give up their lives for the ideals of a nation."

"Perhaps, but public opinion has dropped"

"Pah. A minor dip. It seems our people aren't quite patriotic enough. We'll divert resources from our new pit to public works."

"Can we afford to divert resources away from the war effort?"

"No, if we were attacking Canada, but we don't need to. The Canadians have two years to take back the western united states, or the DUS ceases to exist as an idea. We just need to wait, let them dash themselves against our defences, and clear away whatever is left afterwards."

"Two years? What are we supposed to do in that time?"

"It may not be that long, though I don't see why the Canadians would attack sooner. Regardless, our allies in the south should finally start making some progress."

"They've already suffered one defeat."

"Yes, but they've mostly finished up their conflicts in Europe now. They'll be ready to act with their full force. And if that's not enough? Well, we've shown our allies what is necessary for good to triumph over evil. Evil has always taken extreme measures to protect it's power, but we have no lack of men willing to die for what they know is right."

"Let us hope our allies have the same commitment we do."

I hope our temporary absence from the region will not be taken as neglect, we still wish to bring about an independent and representative Kenuganda at the earliest opportunity. While we are unavoidably engaged, we would implore your people consider: the conquest of Madagascar can be delayed with few serious consequences, but the opportunity to restore peace in Kenuganda fades rapidly away, and every delay brings great suffering.

To Canada's Allies in the PRA conflict [PM]

We have received an interesting offer from Hawaii. They offered to withdraw their forces from North America (presumably to deal with the Portugese invasion) and give them into our control. As payment they have requested either 2 major technologies, or 3 shards. We feel that as this removes a major PRA ally that we should do this. It is now a matter of who is willing to provide payment.

our invisibility tech covers a major tech, now we either need another tech or some shards (asked for confirmation on whether 1 or 2 shards needed to complete deal). I have also asked for confirmation that they intend to stay neutral for the entire remaining duration of the war.

Also the Empire of Resplendent sun has (supposedly, I am confirming) agreed to moderate and ensure the truthfulness of the negotiations. So should they confirm this makes it far more likely that these are fair.

Also PRC has ESP Defense of 1. We are sending our spies elsewhere, but we recommend that our allies use their ESP on the PRC while their defenses are still low. If you think you can do so we recommend forging orders to make them attack the PRA. This is certainly a lofty goal but with 1 DEF it might be possible. Also with 1 morale if you could sabotage propaganda or something we might be able to get people in the occupied territories to revolt and join us. Please do not waste this opportunity.

Should the deal go through we recommend that military forces attack through the newly acquired territories in the former DUS. They will not guard that front too well, and liberating the DUS given us the opportunity to gain support from the DUS resistance, adding them to our forces. we reccommend re-installing the DUS government in these territories to further gain us support from the resistance.

To Empire of resplendant sun [PM]

We have recently recieved word that you are willing to mediate and ensure the truthfullness of the negotiations between us and Hawaii. Is this true? We would like confirmation before we agree to anything with them.

That seems good. Also specifically they have said that a research must have taken at least 15 research to be considered major. Assuming that qualifies then it looks like payment in technology will work. They have also agreed not to share the techs we give them with other nations. This agreement looks like it will go through.

To Portugal:
(Def.Esp.2)
Do not worry. I have the situation under control. A colonial government under Portugal will be duly established. Please accept my ambassador to fill you in with the details.

PM:Kenyuganda will be pacified and a constitutional government will be established with you (i.e. your governor) as head of the government and with full power over military, external and administrative policy and the hell pits. You will also have considerable power over the other issues although a parliament will be created for social and domestic issues. (OOC: I will write you the details when I have the time).
As you understand that will not possible as long as the Nigerian Warlords are still in charge so I plan to send them back home. I hope that you will announce to them that they are not welcome anymore and recompensate them however you see fit. If they refuse to leave I will resort to military force and probably use the rebels against them. On a positive note, that should also gain me the trust of the Resistance and enough intel to make sure that they too will be unable to stand in the way of your new colonial government.
Now to a different mater. Do you know who it was that infiltrated you? I'd like to confirm my suspicion that it were Louxembourg mercenary agents and not actual Canadians.

To Hawaii:
Do not worry. The conquest of Madagascar is completed and we have the situation under control. I recomend that you leave the Kenyuganda issue to me as it is far from your land and just next to mine.
On a different note, I am inclined to believe Portugal regarding his claim of forged commands seeing as that seems to be the reason for a major conflict in our world already. I believe you know who would have such capabilities.

To the Kheranic Republic of Saloa [PM]:
I would caution you not to involve yourself in the american war too obviously and to inform me about any military mission you plan so that I am prepared to aid you if needed.

2012-08-23, 07:48 AM
Turn 10, July, 1937 CE

In fits and starts the world remains at war. The world watches and waits to see what will happen next.

North American Troubles
The Canadian Federal Imperium is invaded yet again. But this time not by the forces of the PRA. Instead the forces of Portugal have broken off their invasion of Hawaii and moved north to attempt an invasion of Canada's little defended western provinces. It appears that there is little the vastly outnumbered Canadian defenders can do as they scramble to move into position to stop the invading Portuguese. But then relief arrives in the form of the Alaskan army. Although still outnumbered heavily by the Portuguese Alaska and Canada's defenders move with precision blocking each of Portugal’s advances and eventually forcing them to retreat. Falling back the Portuguese carve off a chunk of undefended DUS territory that Hawaii had abandoned and prepare for a second strike.

In the south the fighting was more decisive. Without aid from its ally the PRA the last forces of the People's Republic of the Caribbean had bunkered down in hopes of at least surviving the coming onslaught, but such was not to be. A massive combined Aztlan and Spanish armada converged on the under supplied defenders. Spanish battleships bombarded the coast with unending waves of shells from their massive steam cannons, while the floating fortresses of the Aztlan released waves of elite Jaguar mechs to assault the PRC lines directly. In such a one sided battle the outcome was clear from the beginning, and all remaining PRC forces are believed to have been destroyed utterly.

Warring Warlords
In Africa an invasion force of Ethiopian troops moved into the former territory of Kenyuganda and issued an ultimatum for the warlords hired by Portugal to maintain order to leave. In a move which most took as sheer bravado the warlords declined. But to the surprise of the most of the world, not least the Ethiopians the warlords proved to be much more than mere native warbands and a rabble of ill equipped warriors. In fact observers report that the warlords had equipped their troops with the latest in military technology, although obviously of Portuguese make, and were well trained and prepared as a fighting force. The Ethiopian invasion force was stalemated after heavy fighting, and the world watches with bated breath for how Portugal will react to this invasion of their territory.

Asian Assault
Things continue to go poorly for the Kushan Empire. Although the Kushan boast some of the world's most impressive fortresses, and are backed up by the fierce Mongolian Iron Horde, they proved unable to stop the Resplendent Empire from advancing once more into their territory. In turn however this was not due to the dazzling Resplendent Empire Sun Weapons, or the near superhuman feats of the Bod warrior monks. Rather it was simply due to the fact that the Khmer Empire had been lured into the fight on the side of the Resplendent Empire. Although not officially allying with the Resplendent Empire the Khmer's push drew Kushan troops away from the Himalayas allowing the Resplendent Empire to continue to make progress.

European Endeavors
The Roman Empire meanwhile continues its quiet but ruthless destruction of the Arkadaslik Union. Roman Legions push back Union troops at every turn, and foreign analysts posit that if nothing changes the Romans will have likely finished their conquest by the start of the new year.

Caliphate of Ethiopia
(Def.Esp.14)

Announcement to the population of Mahajanga, Madagascar

Tamir stood in front of a large crowd of natives, who were probably still pretty disgruntled by the fate of their nation. Who knows what they would have done to him if not for the Ethiopian troops everywhere. He still wasn't sure if his cousin had given him this position here as a reward or as punishment. Yes, he had been told that his organizational and political talent was needed in the new province but he couldn't shake away the feeling that this was an exile for medling in to many affairs of the more senior family members. Ah well, he still had his beautiful wife at his side and would do the best he could with what had been given, God willing at least.
Tamir cleared his throat readhis prepared speech.
"Citizen of Mahajanga. As you know this city has been ceded to the Caliphate of Ethiopia by its previous holder, King Jose II of Portugal who held it by right of conquest. Thus any resident is now official subjects of His Highness Abudjib Odesmaha Umenei III and the Umenei family. I am Tamir Odesmaha Umenei and have been named governor of this city by the Caliph."
"First of all, You are free to believe what you want but I will not accept any pagan rituals and hedonistic behavior. All Malagasy temples will be closed and replaced by proper churches. Conversion is not mandatory but will be the first step for any of you who wish to become full citizen of the Caliphate of Ethiopia and by sending your children to one of the new Ethiopian schools you can ensure that they too have all the rights an Ethiopian child would have.
To ensure order there will be a curfew and being outside of ones home after 10:30 will require a permit until further notice. On a more positive note, all bussiness within Mahajanga is granted a complete tax exemption and will have no obligations other than following the law and continue to show hospitality to the brave men and women of the Ethiopian military."
"While you are free to leave and enter the city whenever you wish and settle anywhere else on Madagascar, know that the rest of the island is under jurisdiction of the Kheranic Republic of Saloa and you will have to follow their laws after passing the provincial borders. Leaving the island of Madagascar by sea is only possible with permission from either Ethiopian or Saloan authorities."
"However, I would recommend all able bodied men and women to stay. The Caliph wishes to transform this city into a jewel of industry and naval construction and heavy investments are already on their way. Both a large workforce and a strong economy will be required and any work will be rewarded with good Ethiopian currency. Only by working together can we transform this place from a minor province that survived conquest into a great city known over the world of which your children will be proud to live in."
"May God bless Mahajanga and protect its people. Thank you."

To Portugal:
(Def.Esp.13)
Of course my military will not involve itself in the running of your colony and once Kenyuganda is pacified and a lawful government has been created and stabilized I will retreat my forces. Russia is welcome to oversee the whole process and even more welcome to aid in it. To further reassure you I will send a shipment of oblivion shards as a sign of good will and for the inconvenience I caused.
I could not wait to stop the Nigerian Warlords from their thuggery and disorganized war against the Kenyugandan Resistance, which was paid in blood by the populace and only fueled dissent even more. Even less I knew how well funded they had become during their aid in your conquest. I hope you can persuade them that their ill concieved task of overlording is over and I am happy to help you further if they request compensation.
In order to appease the people of Kenyuganda I think a constitutional government that gives at least some power to the people should be best. That is after all what the previous communist government that now leads the Resistance was promising them. If you have major concerns we will adress them.

Attached the plans for the new government:
Head of State:
The Head of State of the Portugese Colony of Kenyuganda will of course be the King of Portugal. He has the sole and full power over Kenyugandas Hell Pits and military. Because of his much further reaching responsibilities he is requested to appoint a governor. The only requirements for appointments are that the governor will take residence in Kenyuganda and that he has no other governing responsibilities or positions other than being Governor of Kenyuganda. This is to make sure that the colony is well governed.
The Governor can be deposed either by the King himself or if both legislative request a new governor with a 65% majority each.

Executive:
The executive governs the colony on behalf of the king to whom it fully answers. It is headed by the governor and the colonial ministers that he or the king appoint. It is in control of all internal security and policing forces and appoints 3 of the 9 high justices at will.

Legislative:
The legislative branch is formed of two distinct parliaments. The Peoples House of Representatives and the Colonial Senate.
The Peoples Representative is elected by universal suffrage of all Kenyugandan citizen of majority age. It has sole jurispundence regarding laws concerning traditions, families and social and domestic civil issues. To be nominated as a representative you must be male, over the age of 27 and not have been involved in crimes against the king and government.
The Colonial Senate is a hereditary council. Seats in it are hereditary or tied to a position or territory (like a current bishop, major, general, CEO or land holder of importance) and initially given by the king of Portugal. The governor presides over it and he and the ministers often also have a voting seat. 50% of the council must be of Kenyugandan nationality (with at least one Kenyuganda born parent). The senate has jurispundence over all laws regarding administrative and economic issues and internal security.
Other laws, like those regarding education or the environment, need a majority vote of both houses. That is also the case for any constitutional ammends.
Both houses elect 3 of the 9 high justices.

Judicative:
All judges only need to answer to their superior judges. They swear equal fealty to king, country, people and constitution. The highest judical authority are the 9 High Justices. 3 are elected by the Peoples House of Representatives for life and may only be replaced by a 65% majority vote. 3 are elected by the Colonial Senate and may be replaced by a 65% majority or directly accquited by the king himself upon which the senate elects a replacement. 3 are appointed by the government at will and answer to it and the king.

To Saloa:
(Def.Esp.21)
We are very sorry for not informing you beforehand, but are pretty sure that Portugal will not see our actions as acts of war but as aid in cleaning up. Attached Portugals last message in case they haven't already read it as per treaty.
PM:We wanted to know your plans for the future only insofar we may work together and aid you. If we continue expanding in any direction, doing it together may be for the best and if you have goals that we can help with we are happy to do so. As we are the last two Kheranic nations, any influence that one of us gains increases the reach of Kherans reighteous message and is in accordance to Gods will, don't you agree?

To PRA [PM]

We will have to discuss the issue with our allies. Exactly what conditions would you be prepared to accept? Would you accept a deal that reestablishes the DUS government with pre-war borders? Would you accept a re-establishment of the DUS with different borders than pre-war? Will you not accept the re-establishment of the DUS at all? How much territory changing hands is acceptable to you? With Hawaii having abandoned their territory we need a decision on what to do with those territories as well.

Additionally Portugal will likely not be withdrawing from the war if you leave it so we need to discuss what to do about that. At minimum you need to deny them the ability to move through your territory to attack us.

It is just that we are trying to keep it secret as there may be more nations like Hawaii who wish to see the communist regime restored.
