Hello, fellow playgrounders. In a fit of rage and frustration, I turn to you for advice. I'm hoping that someone who knows more than I might be able to help me out.

So, as to what's happening. I press the power button on my pc. It begins to boot, and flashes a screen that tells me what sort of motherboard I'm using. It's an ASUS M4A79XTD EVO. It then does nothing but sit there. I can hit Delete to run startup, Tab to view a Bios Message, or esc to do something else.

Sometimes, if I hit tab or delete, my pc will boot. Just now, windows decided to start up in repair mode, which it's never done before. It's asked me if I want to do a system restore, which seems odd to me. I did just update it to Windows 7 last week, but I'm not sure if that would be causing an issue.

So then, playground, any advice? Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions or help!

Sounds like a primary hard drive issue rather than a motherboard issue to me.
The system restore and repair mode suggest an issue with either your windows files or possibly a hard drive failure of some sort.

Have you tried booting with your windows disc or in safe mode?
Can you run a scandisk on your windows drive?
