So the question recently came up: If I cast Wall of Fire on my Iron Golem then make the Wall permanent, does my Golem end up with infinite health? It gains temp hps at rate of 3-1 for fire damage and the Wall would burn on it forever...

The temporary HP probably doesn't stack- I can't remember if temp HP not stacking is a blanket rule or not. There's no specific exception, so it's just down to whether the default is overlap or not.

Two things:
1) Wall of Fire is an Effect spell, it's not cast on a creature. You'd have to have your Iron Golem sitting forever to have such an infinite effect.
2) Stacking of the temp HP isn't necessarily a given. The relevent text from the Golem's Entry:
A magical attack that deals fire damage breaks any slow effect on the golem and heals 1 point of damage for each 3 points of damage the attack would otherwise deal. If the amount of healing would cause the golem to exceed its full normal hit points, it gains any excess as temporary hit points. The temporary hit point (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/injuryandDeath.htm#temporaryHitPoints) definition doesn't tell us much. The Stacking Rules (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicOverview/castingSpells.htm#stackingEffects) are not fully clear - in your case, it's a spell, but are the temporary HP treated as being from the Iron Golem ability (in which case, stacking rules don't technically apply, but might, as there's no description anywhere of stacking Ex effects, and Many, but not all, DM's will use the closest thing, the magical stacking rules), or from the Wall of Fire spell you cast (in which case they very much apply). If the magical stacking rules do apply, then they definately do not stack:
Same Effect More than Once in Different Strengths

In cases when two or more identical spells are operating in the same area or on the same target, but at different strengths, only the best one applies.
