I'm familiar with the Book of Vile Darkness and the Book of Exalted Deeds, but I have to ask- is there a similar pair of books for law and chaos? I have a fairly large collection, but nothing along those lines.

In my campaign we've homebrewed a Chaos book as "The Anarchist's Cookbook"

and the lawful book is "Principia Axiomatica"

I believe he means -actual- D&D Sourcebooks that cover being Lawful or Chaotic as well as the Book of Exalted Deeds covers Good and the Book of Vile Darkness Evil.

I've been looking for such books myself, actually.

That's exactly what I mean. However, if someone happens to have a decently thought out homebrew version, I'd love that, too.

Not for third edition really, no. In AD&D kind of, with the Planes of Law and Planes of Chaos, but that's probably not what you want.

Not D&D-related, but Liber Chaotica (WFRP) is a fluff book based around the four Chaos Gods. A good amount of that can be imported into D&D relatively easily.
