Assume, for a moment, that ECL is a reasonable measure of equivalency when talking about NPC companions in a party.
A Wyrmling Copper Dragon (MM) has 5 HD and a +2 LA (ECL 7)
A Wyrmling Elysian Dragon (DM344) has 4 HD and a +4 LA (ECL 8)
A Wyrmling Bronze Dragon (MM) has 6 HD and a +4 LA (ECL 10)
According to the Draconomicon, an arcane caster with the Dragon Familiar feat may select a Wyrmling Dragon as a familar. Which type depends on a given chart:
Copper L10th
Bronze L11th
Would it be reasonable to assume, then, that an Elysian Dragon would be a reasonable choice for an 11th level caster?
Would it be reasonable to extrapolate that a size-fine Dragon would have a 10' line or 5' cone (single square) breath weapon?
There is a feat in DM343 (Magic in the Blood article p88-89) called Divine Sorcery. Grants the 1st level sorcerer access to a cleric's domain and the ability to add a single spell from the domain list to your spell list each day.
There is an ACF in Complete Champion (p52) called Domain Access, granting the 5th level sorceror access to a cleric domain...providing the granted power and the ability to cast one domain spell of each level per day from that domain...at the cost one spell known at each level.
There is an ACF for CLERICS in the Planar Handbook (p30), granting the 7th level cleric access to a Planar domain...the cleric must give up their two 1st level domains in order to obtain a single, more-powerful planar domain with 2 different spells in it at each level.
I know it's not legal RAW. Would it be REASONABLE, in your opinion, to allow a Sorceror who worships a NG deity to take the Divine Sorcery feat at 1st, opt into the Domain Access ACF at 5th, and then at 7th level trade both of their thus-obtained feats in in exchange for the Elysium domain?
Would it be worth a 1st level feat, a 9th level feat and Draconic as a language choice to be able to cast spells from the Elysium domain and have a familiar that could become the size of a fly and belch out inebriating gas as a breath weapon?
And if both of the above were true...what sort of feat and spell selection would you aim for?
