Quick question, does the initiate of mystra work with arcane spells? got a person running a wiz/cleric and wants to know if he can still use arcane spells in anti-magic fields.

Initiate of Mystra doesn't specify the kind of magic; as worded, it allows you to cast any spell you're capable of casting. I don't see why it would be an issue fluff-wise, either, since Mystra is the goddess of all (non-Shadow Weave) magic.

Seconded. It doesn't restrict the caster to divine spells and casting arcane spells is perfectly in line with the RP side of things (she's the patron of mages.)

This.

(Oh, and Azuth is the patron of mages and wizards. Mystra deals with magic and the Weave as a whole.)

Yeah. For example, a Cleric3/Wizard17 with the feat could cast 9th level arcane spells unimpeded in his own AMF, provided he cast the AMF at such a CL that he would automatically succeed the CL check, or took Arcane Mastery to Take 10 on the check.

It's that good.

Note, though, that it's really hard to make the checks at low to mid levels.
