Why is it so hard to be an exalted sorcerer?

Why is so hard for sorcerers and the like to get Sanctified spells (BoED), is there an easier way than arcane prep or exalted arcanist that I'm missing? Or is yet more "vancian casting must be best casting"?

Honestly, I'd just ask my GM if I could treat sanctified spells like normal spells (spending a spell known on them as usual). You should be working in close concert with your GM if you're being exalted in the first place, and honestly, for the most part sanctified spells are weaker (or at least way more situational) than sorcerer spells anyway.

Sticking to strict RAW, yeah, Arcane Prep or Exalted Arcanist are the ways to go. But really, it wouldn't hurt to ask, unless you're already far and away the most powerful member of the party (which, as a Sorcerer, is entirely possible).
