Project X Zone is an upcoming RPG featuring Sega, Capcom and Namco characters. These includes but are not limited to: Ryu, Ken, Mega Man X, Zero and Dante for the Capcom side; Ulala, Akira Yuki, Pai Chan and Kurt Irving for the Sega side and Jin Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu and KOS-MOS.

So what do you guys think so far? Personally I'm glad that Mega Man is finally back, though the lack of Sonic so far is strange. That said, not all of the characters have been confirmed.

Has there been any word on a western release? Seems like the kind of thing that might just stay comfortably in the magical land of Japan and leave the rest of the world crying.

The apperance of the Sword That Cleaves Evil did make me grin. This could very well be worth importing if they end up not bringing it over by themselves.

I'm quite interested in it. Putting Mega Man, Zero, Dante, Yuri Lowell, Estelle, KOS-MOS, and T-elos (just to name those I recognize and like) all in one game is weird, but heck, I'll take it. I hope to see Sonic as well, though sadly I expect he won't be partnered with the character I'd prefer (Knuckles - I'd expect Tails or Shadow instead sadly). Not to mention the 3DS in general could definitely use more good games from not-Nintendo sources.

New characters, including Chun Li and Morrigan. The others are Valkyrie, Bruno Delinger, Gemini Sunrise, Erica Fontaine, Haken Browning and Kaguya Nanbu.

Two Swords That Cleave Evil in one game? Oh my.

Also, breasts. Wouldn't feel like a crossover fan service extravaganza without 'em.

Only characters in that bunch that I recognize are Chin-Li and Morrigan. Pity. I really hope Sega has some Sonic characters in there, and another couple of Tales characters from Namco would be nice as well.

Sonic is too obvious a choice not to be in this game.

The /m/ thread fell before I could confirm it, but it seems solo characters exist only as supports and not actual combat units. This includes Sanger and yes, you have rights to feel mad now.

Still. Valkyria Chronicles 3, Resonance of Fate, and now Endless Frontier? This is going to be great.

I take it Sanger is a fan favourite?

Also it seems that Juri and Seth (both from Street Fighter, if anyone is wondering) are in. (http://pxz.channel.or.jp/img/system/system04_s04_02.png)

Sanger is a favorite... for fans of Super Robot Wars. And I think this forum has some.

Chances of this game being translated? Pretty low. The bigger a crossover the bigger the legal hassle involved, Namco X Capcom was never officially translated (and the fan translation is poor, but this is still better than nothing), and Namco Bandai already proved it is fine with not releasing games in the west even if they would sell well.

So don't hold your breath. Fortunately if this is anything like NxC then it's so plot-light you can play in Japanese and not miss anything important. All dialogue is either obvious exposition or characters being funny or awesome.

But characters being funny and/or awesome is the fun of it all.

Well yes. Even with the pretty bad fan translation, NxC is still full of fun or awesome moments like that. As opposed to Endless Frontier EXCEED, when you miss on jokes unless you can figure out the context or know Japanese...

But still, at least it means you can enjoy the gameplay.

Mega-gate has ended! Jubilation!

(of course, it probably ended earlier and I just wasn't paying attention, but still)

One of the games included in Project X Zone is Dynamite Deka, and... well, just read (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die_Hard_Arcade).

So you could say John McClane is in this game.

Ah, I see.

So to pass the time, do you guys want to discuss Akuma?

Anyways, over 200 characters have been confirmed for this game. (http://www.siliconera.com/2012/06/22/project-x-zone-has-over-200-characters-and-that-doesnt-count-event-scenes/)

Oh and Firebrand (http://www.siliconera.com/2012/06/21/firebrand-is-in-project-x-zone-as-an-enemy/) from the Capcom side is in as an enemy.

Original (http://www.famitsu.com/images/000/016/990/l_4fe97728c804f.jpg) protagonists (http://www.famitsu.com/images/000/016/990/l_4fe977294566b.jpg) confirmed. Voiced by Toshihiko Seki (Duo from Gundam Wing) and Yukari Tamura (Nanoha from well, Nanoha) respectively.

Also we know how the support system will look now. Each unit is three people, and the third is an independent "single" character like Sanger, who will not only provide their own attack but also skills as well.

N...No Susumu Hori? He's gotta be a secret character or something. :smallfrown:

I don't think Mr Driller is in this crossover. But Namco X Capcom had both of his parents!

Is Frank West in this? He's covered wars, y'know, so whatever happens in this game should be a cakewalk for him.

Sorry, just to be clear but Sega X Namco X Capcom is actually a series vs fights and not a game to see who can build the creepiest slash pairing?

Yes. He is paired with Lei-Lei (Hsien Ko) from Darkstalkers, because the Chinese hopping vampire always gets partnered with people who fight undead. Crossovers are funny that way.

Hahaha this is nowhere near the creepiest slash ever. Try real life historical figure slash for starters.

Anyway, this is not a fighting game but a tactical RPG. And the characters from various franchises are not fighting with each other but working together. Typical Japan for you - where "X vs Y" doesn't mean they fight each other, just that they share a crossover.

We're not beyond the 6 week necro threshold yet, thank goodness.

New trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3nQKML06Fk). Looks amazing - if not for the attack videos or new characters, then for the Gainax-style intro at the end. Just like Namco X Capcom.

I knew about some of this stuff (Yuri, Morrigan, Dante etc) but some of this is new (Nanoha's voice, Iris, BATSU!!!!!!! and the new trailer). Glad I found this thread. Soooooo hoping this comes out over here in Europe.

Favourite character in this: Yuri, Dante, Haken, Chris, Zero, Gemeni, Zepher ..... yeah, I'd pretty much end up naming every one of the cast that I know. Only one I dislike is Ryu, and that's only cos he's in everything, not cos I dislike him as a character.

Music sounds as good as it always does from these 3.

The characters I'm most hyped about are Kurt, Riela and Imca, as well as Haken (and Kaguya I guess). In a game like this every player starts having some kind of favorites, unless they enter the game completely blind and not knowing anything about any of the included characters - but then this player also sees other characters being all cool and stuff, learns about series they're not familiar with, and may even end up picking some of them up. Such is the beauty of a crossover title.

Moving on to more practical news. There's a chance the game will be localized after all (http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/23/harada-is-pretty-confident-he-can-get-project-x-zone-localized/).
