Multishot and Damage Reduction

this question came up last session and we were unable to solve it with the books at hand.

When using Multishot, do you reduce the combined damage from the shot or do you reduce the damage of every single arrow?

Rules are possibly lost in translation, we are not using the english originals.

If it applies to each attack individually, it only applies once to the whole volley, as Manyshot only uses one attack roll. However, since Sneak Attack and the like also only apply once, this may be reasonable.

Manyshot explicitly states that DR applies separately to each arrow.

Unless you are using greater manyshot from the XPH/SRD precision based damage will only apply to one arrow, other sources of bonus damage will apply to all.
