New DM here with a new gaming group. We started playing some mini-campaigns from the wizard web-site and things are going well, but then I found a pretty good Avatar rules variant and everyone is really interested in playing that instead. I'm good with that, but I'm having some trouble coming up with a story for the group. I'm thinking of running a merc campaign as stated in PHBII and I'm definitely not having an Avatar in the setting, but I don't really have much of an idea of what the conflict would be. Fire nation aggression could work, but it seems a bit over done. Here's the url to the variant I plan on using http://sites.google.com/site/avatard20/home .
