I was doing my touring of RPG goodness online and I stumbled across an interesting looking d20 indie RPG called Heroes Against Darkness. (http://heroesagainstdarkness.blogspot.com/) Now, I promise this isn't a staged plug for the RPG, but I was just curious if anyone had reviewed this, played it, or what your first impressions were. I have a friend who's very interested in this sort of alternative d20 stuff (He introduced me to Legend) and I was thinking of trying this out with him.

This is the first that I've heard of it...but their method of tracking hit point loss (about half way down the page) is fantastic!

Edit: Opps, that was under "D&D for Kids"

I would use that method in my campaigns. The only problem is that my players would start dying suspiciously quickly.

I can guarantee that Vilpich's post isn't a plant, because I have no idea who he (or she) is! :-)

I've been lurking here a while, but haven't actually posted anything about Heroes Against Darkness:

I'm not sure if this is even the right forum for Heroes Against Darkness, because it pulls from all of the editions of D&D and makes a whole new game. It's been described as a neo-clone, 'cos it's got a little bit of Basic, and little bit of AD&D, a bit of 3rd Edition, and a bit of 4th Edition:

Anyway, it's totally FREE, there's no Kickstarter and nothing to buy, so you can safely check it out here:

There's an overview of the game here:

Check out the blog for information about the game or hit me up here if you have any questions.

See? Now we have a real plant. :smalltongue:

As to where I put this in the forums, it wouldn't be out of place elsewhere but your system is sort of d20 based so it seemed appropriate.

I'm no plant, I'm a real person. I promise. ***Rustle, rustle***

You're right that it's d20, but it's not strictly 3.X edition, as it takes features from 3rd, 4th, Basic and Advanced.

Anyway, thanks again for finding and posting, and enjoy the game.
