So, I'm starting a campaign that begins near the first discovery of the 'americas'. It's still a fantasy world, but it's sort of alternate history sort of thing. campaign starts in a port on one of the Carribean type islands. in a colony from the place based off of Britain. I'd like to know what experiences people have had with renaissance campaigns, and some adventure ideas.

Not sure how much use it would be for you, but the Mazteka sub-setting in the Forgotten Realms has a...startling...resemblance to the Spanish conquest of Central and South America. If that's of any use to you, it might be worthwhile looking up some of the old source mats.

I second the suggestion, although it's spelled Maztica.

If you like Assassin's Creed, the third installment should have some ideas you can plunder.

Thanks for the correction...recalled the campaign setting, but didn't have source in front of me to be sure I spelled it right.
