So I was talking to my friend about favourite Bleach characters the other day and we eventually came upon the badass that is Ikkaku Madarame (http://bleach.wikia.com/wiki/Ikkaku_Madarame), in case you don't know whom he is, check him out in the link provided.
His weapon is a Naginata (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/weapon-descriptions/naginata) that can become a Sansetsukon (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/weapon-descriptions/sansetsukon-three-section-staff), now naturally we thought "How can we make this more ridiculous?" Our thought is a Pair of Hanbo (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/weapon-descriptions/hanbo) (3ft long) that can turn into Nunchaku (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/weapon-descriptions/nunchaku) (2ft/1ft long), but can also combine to form a Quarterstaff (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/weapon-descriptions/quarterstaff) (6ft long) which itself can split to be a Sansetsukon (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/weapon-descriptions/sansetsukon-three-section-staff) (2ft/2ft/2ft long)
This is where we reach the problem of how this would work in dnd, we look to both the Fighter and the Monk, as really who else would use it other than a person who carries an odd assortment of weapons or a crazy martial arts master. Now obviously the monk flurries to his little hearts content switching up attacks with Combat Manoeuvres, But what does that leave the fighter to do? Does he Two-Weapon everything? If he wants to focus on just those weapons, weapon master doesn't work. Is there an archetype that could work for a fighter using such a bizarre weapon as this? Let me know.
