I'm working on an antagonist for a RL game and realized that...for as much of the rules that I do know...I'm at a bit of a loss on this one. The antagonist in question in a druid seeking to wipe out civilization under the belief that the land itself gave him/her/it this quest. Now...most antagonist/evil druids I see (or druids period for that matter) seem to follow the same path. Summon tons of animals, furry vengeance on the enemy! That's all well and good but...it lacks the epic feel that I'm looking for.

So what's the best way to represent a Druid that doesn't turn the natural world...but the world itself against their enemies? I'm talking weather, natural disasters, things that could wipe entire towns and cities off the maps. And I'm looking for suggestions on spells, PrCs, base classes, archtypes, etc. I want a druid who's (to use TvTropes) a Walking Wasteland and Person of Mass Destruction. If the PCs enter a direct fight with this character, they'd feel incredibly lucky to just fight an animal companion or the normal horde of beasties and treants. Race suggestions would be helpful as well. Ideas can be for Pathfinder or 3.5.

I'm only really proficient in 3.5, so sorry if there's some changed stuff that I'm unaware of.

Druids are probably the best base class for wiping out civilization. Some prestige classes that fit your concept are the Blighter (CDiv), Walker in the Waste (Sandstorm) and Stormcaster (Stormwrack).

Druid Spells which can 'turn nature against' a large area (you may want to pick up Widen):
5: Control Winds, Blizzard (Frostburn)
6: Sandstorm (Sandstorm)
7: Control Weather
8: Fimbulwinter (Frostburn), Evil Weather (BoVD)
9: Tsunami (Spell Compendium/an issue of Dragon), Undermaster (Underdark) (can be persisted) [it's unlimited Earthquakes], Apocalypse from the Sky (Book of Vile Darkness) - fire raining from the sky does stretch the definition of 'nature' a bit:smalltongue:, Shadow Landscape (SpC).

Earthquake and Flashflood (Sandstorm) also get honorable mentions. A Spirit of the Land (MMII) is a monster that could be allied with the Druid (a Wu Jen can also Greater Spirit Bind it).

I definitely second Walker in the Waste. If you haven't heard of it, it's from Sandstorm, and it gains an aura that turns the area around it into a desert, a dehydrating touch attack (that can't be healed until you drink water), and eventually turns you into a super-lich with six phylacteries. The fluff is right up your alley, too. If you don't want it to be desert themed, you could change its aura to cold and its touch to frostbite.

I'd also recommend against Blighter. Aside from it being an enemy of nature, it's also horribly weak compared to a druid; you'll have a hard time optimizing it enough to make it the walking apocalypse you want.

If you're interested in homebrew, there's the Viridian Aspirant (see my sig) that turns into a walking tree and has the option to have an aura that causes all the plants around him to grow and grapple with enemies.

As for Pathfinder, Druids can pick up a Domain as a Cleric instead of an animal companion; this makes Storm Druid (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/druid/archetypes/paizo---druid-archetypes/storm-druid) a viable (and flavorful) Archetype for what you're describing; especially note that they can spontaneously cast domain spells instead of Summon Nature's Ally. The Weather Domain (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/cleric/domains/paizo---domains/weather-domain) has better spells for the occasion, but Air Domain (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/cleric/domains/paizo---domains/air-domain) with the Cloud Subdomain (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/cleric/domains/paizo---domains/air-domain/cloud) has its benefits; at level 9, you don't have to choose - you get both.

For spells, check out World Wave (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/w/world-wave), Winds of Vengeance (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/w/winds-of-vengeance), Tsunami (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/t/tsunami), Seige of Trees, Greater (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/s/siege-of-trees), Polar Midnight (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/p/polar-midnight), and Clashing Rocks (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/c/clashing-rocks).

There's a number of other Archetypes that you might be interested in: Blight Druid (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/druid/archetypes/paizo---druid-archetypes/blight-druid), Arctic Druid (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/druid/archetypes/paizo---druid-archetypes/arctic-druid), and (my choice for an evil NPC Druid) Reincarnated Druid (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/druid/archetypes/paizo---druid-archetypes/reincarnated-druid).
