Aid Another

What kind of an action is "aid another" I couldnt find it in the SRD or the PHB?

You're rolling the skill, so Aid Another is the same action as the use of the skill is normally. In cases where you're not aiding a skill check, it's mentioned what the action is.

The in-combat Aid Another actions are Standard actions - and will apply to the first event that meets it's criteria only.

E.g. if you aid another for a friend's attack on a creature and they full attack that creature the bonus only applies to their first attack, and not the subsequent attacks.
