Ok guys, this is my first post but i've been reading here for a very long time.

So, here is my problem. I hate Necromancers that raise undead but I LOVE negitive energy. I was reading the PF hand book and saw that the necro is awful for what I want to play. I know that if I wanted to be a blaster I could go conj or evo. However I like spells like enervation and ray of enfeeblement. Has anyone found a book or a homebrew that doesn't focus on reanimating? I want to curse hex and drain. I'm also not a big fan of item creation feats and I honestly feel that all the meta magic other then heighten are a complete waste of time for any decent mage. A wand and a scroll can change the battle so i'm not worried about circumstancial events.

So, what i'm asking is for alternate abilites and a few feat ideas. Anything you guys can come up with would be amazing. once again, optimization isn't my goal...but This character is going to be a drow or drow noble. So...with that in mind...please enlighten me. thanks in advance

If your DM lets you use 3rd party classes, try the Death Mage (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/3rd-party-classes/super-genius-games/death-mage). It's more of a necromancer druid than a wizard, actually. Has all or most of the debuffing necromancy spells in core, and casts arcane spells with CHA

That class seems really kool. The thing is i dont want a seperate class. I want a wizard. Black tentacles and dimension door are staple. Like i said above, i am looking for an alternate necro wizard specialist. I dont want to turn and rebuke undead. Honestly i think a necro who relies on crappy minions is a wimp. I want to weild death beams and drain levels. Ill keep that class in mind though :)

Since you're looking to avoid other classes, I'll mention the Witch in Pathfinder functions very similarly to the Wizard and gets class features and spells that make them magnificent debuffers while still having plenty of necromancy spells And the inflict list and move on unless you want to hear more of it.

If you're looking to focus on the ray and blasting aspects of necromancy, you're probably going to want to pick up Reach Spell (metamagic) so that you can deliver your touch spells with saftey; this turns a lot of things like Chill Touch and Ghoul touch into the ranged blast of Screw You.

Additionally, there are plenty of things like Ray of Enfeeblement and Ray of Sickening that should work out fine for you.

Now then, take those ranged attacks and shoot your enemy through a gun; the Spellslinger archtype will force you to Ban 4 schools of magic, but you can simply prep them as two levels higher in PF's wizard system, and allows you to add the weapon bonuses on your to-hit rolls and the weapon's enhancement bonus to the DC of the spell (DC 13 would be DC 15 if fired from a +2 weapon.) You can use this with any ray, ranged touch, line, or cone spells. If you run out of spells, you still have a gun, which with the Called Shot rules can also function as a debuffing option via called shots to the legs to slow targets down, called shots to the hands to force weapon drops, and called shots to the head and neck for 'casting and general debilitation debuffs.

Any of this sound good?

I think I will take a look at the witch. What book is the reach spell feat in? As far as opposition schools...it's not two levels higher...it's two for one slot. That gun thing is not in the spirit of this class. I'm talking voldemort. I'm looking for power.

Do you have any suggestions on a spell list or what kind of familiar I would take as a witch? As far as PrC goes...I want archmage. I'm not so much worried about optimization as I am about feel and image

I've played a witch, so here's a little advice:

Do you have any suggestions on a spell list or what kind of familiar I would take as a witch?

Are you starting at level 1, or high enough to get Improved Familiar?

If it's low-level, I recommend getting a familiar small enough that you can put it in a pocket, like a rat or a scorpion. You do NOT want your walking spellbook drawing enemy fire. If higher-level, most of the Outsider Improved Familiars get Commune once a week, which could be VERY useful with the right questions.

Also, take a look at the Patrons - they're basically Domains for witches, and give them access to some spells they can't get otherwise.

Anyway, necromantic spell suggestions:

1:
Chill Touch: It's weak on living things, but it's got an extra Turn Undead ability that might surprise the GM. Better with Reach.
Inflict Light Wounds: Like most touch spells, better with Reach Spell or the Prehensile Hair hex - Witches need to stay OUT of melee.
Mage Armor
Ray of Enfeeblement
Ray of Sickening

2:
Blood Transcription: [Evil], but immensely useful if you don't mind that.
Blindness/Deafness
Death Knell: Eh, a coup de grace doesn't cost a spell slot. And it's an [evil] spell.
False Life
Hold Person
Inflict Moderate Wounds
Limp lash: Takes a few rounds to paralyze an enemy, but there's no save.
Pox Pustules
Spectral Hand: For safe(r) touch-spell delivery!
Touch of Idiocy
Vomit Swarm: No, it's not necromancy. But you disable foes by barfing up a swarm of spiders on them. How cool is that?

3:
Bestow Curse: the Swiss army knife of debuffs.
Call the Void: A nice "get away" spell to keep meleers away from you, plus an added kick if you move next to them.
Excruciating Deformation: Slows an enemy down, and does stat damage for level/rounds.
Malediction: Possibly good if your game uses Hero Points. But it's [evil].
Ray of Exhaustion
Vampiric Touch

4:
Black Tentacles
Enervation

These aren't ALL the spells I'd suggest, just some that fit your general theme.

This guide (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1avH5AFYaZ838OC_W7BY_Bnt1TH9KGCc2ygTOb0CiYu0/edit?hl=en_US&pli=1) has some decent advice. In general, witches RULE at debuffing enemies, and have a nice assortment of other tricks, though they're a bit short on a Wizard's ULTIMATE COSMIC POWER(tm).

Also, the Reach Spell feat looks to be in the Advanced Players Guide, according to the incredibly useful PF SRD.

Its an npc that im making. Between 10 and 12th level. Id like a prestige class that unique. That spell list is very interesting. But this necro isnt evil...more like choatic good. His back story is kinda odd. He is a necro of circumstance and natural talent not so much choice. He is searching out lore and items to beat his brother who is the evil necro type.
