Well, either way, it depends on your workflow. I can post a screenshot of my whole desktop area tomorrow if you want, but the gist of it is: I have a program launcher (using linux, but win7 has one, too. It's the "type something here" field in the start menu), and for me it's quicker pressing ALT+F2, typing "firef" and then pressing TAB to autocomplete the command than minimizing my open windows and then go hunting for the link on the desktop. And with files I just got used to not dropping any in one folder, but to sort them as soon as they come onto the machine.

Sysadmin. Goes with the job. Although privately I use 2 and wouldn't want it any other way. The third at work is basically the catch-all space, since I need the screen to configure other PCs all the time, I might as well run IRC/Some sysmonitoring tools and a notepad on the third screen, since it's already taking up space on my desk...

and yes. I kinda suspected your job was the cause for 3 screens.. I don't use the computer for anything quite as complicated, but I don't mind admitting that a second screen would have come in handy, occasionally.

An oldie but goldie. I've tried out several other wallpapers in the last 8 years, but alway come back to this one.

Since I know have a much larger screen, I need to stretch it to fit which hurts the image quality, but it's still too good to have anything else.
