"Err...hello?" She carefully closes the back door, using her foot to try and shoo the animal back. "Sorry, no animals in the kitchen area. Boss'd have a fit."

The critter let out cries of "Osha!" and "Wott!", until it presented its shell which had a familiar-looking mirror (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Gishki_Aquamirror) on it...

An odd look flickers across her face as she sees the mirror. "Now where did you pick up something as valuable as that, I wonder?" She looks about, confirming that no one's around, then she snaps her fingers. The alley seems to shift, the color washing out of the world around them into an off-grey tone. A black witch's hat appears out of nowhere above her head, which she catches and drops firmly onto her head. "How about you just hand that li'l thing over to me, yeah? This barrier won't let either of us escape until either you surrender or you beat me."

"Geh!" The blast of water comes completely by surprise to the witch, and she steps back, soaked, as the Oshawatt makes its escape. She's about to run after it, when a loud bellow from inside draws her attention. "Fine, then, be that way." A wave of her hand, and with her hat hidden away and her clothes magically dried, she reenters the kitchen.

OOC: It's no problem. I was actually tempted to pull out my own Gishki deck for this; I tend to be a big fan of mirror duels. Maybe another time.

OOC: I can't negate the summon at that point; my last chance to negate the summon was when you activated Aquamirror. The summon of Mind Augus occurs during the resolution of Gishki Aquamirror, and you can't start a new chain in the middle of another chain or during the resolution of a chain. That rule leads to several effects, one of which already came up: my Night's End Sorcerer missed the timing because its summon happened halfway through the resolution of Magical Dimension (which summons, then destroys). It's also the reason cards like Black Horn of Heaven (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Black_Horn_of_Heaven) don't work on fusions or rituals, but Solemn Warning does.

Basically, certain continuous effects may apply during resolution if they aren't ignition-like (Skill Drain (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Skill_Drain) if it's already face-up, but not Royal Oppression (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Royal_Oppression)), but other than that, I have to wait until after Aquamirror's effect finishes resolution and Mind Augus arrives on the field, at which point cards like Mind Augus herself (mandatory and "if"/non-time-dependent trigger effects carry over), Bottomless Trap Hole, or Fiendish Chain can activate and a new chain started.

OOC: Actually, I'd pretty much shot my bolt there with that last card. I think you made only a couple mistakes, including declining to use Gishki Beast's effect in the last turn - looking at your hand, you could have resummoned Gishki Vision with Beast, discarded Shadow for Aquamirror, activated the graveyard Aquamirror to recover Gustkrake, and summoned Gustkrake using Aquamirror on Vision, removing another card from my hand and baiting a response yet again (I assume that's why you stopped so often), all while still keeping Beast and Ariel available to pull out Roach after. Given how many summons and other effects I had ignored to date, it was understandable to underestimate my last facedown card, but the fact that I used it at the cost of 4000 LP just to prevent a monster that I could have run over under normal circumstances denotes just how much trouble I was in.

At any rate, looking through your deck, let's see. Evigishki Tetrogre (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Evigishki_Tetrogre) is kind of an amazing card in my opinion; for Gishkis, Graveyard searches and recovery are extremely powerful, and my old Frog/Gish build abused the ability to instantly and automatically search either an Aquamirror, an Evigishki (for a used Aquamirror), Treeborn Frog, or Fishborg Blaster (sadly banned; c'est la guerre) for all sorts of synchro/ritual shenanigans, especially since ignition priority still existed in the TCG. Even in pure Gishki builds, the first two are still useful, and pulling out additional monsters for Salvage is also a good trick. Given how many 6-stars you run, Preparation of Rites (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Preparation_of_Rites) is useful, reducing the need to search Evigishki monsters while permitting another way to recycle Aquamirror to your hand. Gishki Beast should probably be run at 3; it's just so useful for recycling and overlays. I like Gishki Marker as well for recycling capabilities, but it's not as necessary. Finally, I've oddly never been fond of Moray of Greed, despite its theoretical usefulness. More like than not, it's my own gameplay style rather than the card itself, but I tend to deplete my hand too much. Still, I can't think of much to replace its draw power; I used Hand Destruction, but that was in a deck that relied on that now-banned Treeborn/Fishborg combo for mass Formulas as well.

Still, I haven't played Gishki in a long while; I did dig up my old deck, only to find that it uses cards banned in March 2011. A lot of new cards, too, so my advice might be a little outdated.
