For an upcoming game, players have been encouraged to optimize to a great degree. Spell to Power Erudites are par for the course, here.
We are at level ten, and are allowed to hire up to level seven npcs to aid.
At the moment, I am attempting to build such an npc that can get as high a caster level check for use of a scroll as possible. My intent is to use a scroll of polymorph any object to dramatically increase statistics, gaining a slight edge on the 5-strong party of equally leveled characters that will be sent to kill me.
Since I'm not terribly good at optimization, I would like to request the playground's aid in building such an NPC that is capable of making a very high caster level check to activate the scroll.
