Chain Gate question

I've seen a lot of chain gate use to summon monsters (solars for wish, Illithids for Illithid savant) but I was wondering how do these tricks get around the exp cost (1000 per use)? Or do they just assume you pay the exp for the broken abilities gained from using the tricks?

Chain gating means gating in something that's capable of casting gate, which can then act immediately and then gate in another of its own kind, and so on. You only pay the first 1000 xp.
