Days ago, you received a letter written by someone unknown to you, requesting your presence at a gala held in the bustling twin-tiered city of Centropolis--the waystation of the world. You, along with the other invitees, would hear the "proposition of a lifetime"--something exclusive and one-of-a-kind. A once in a lifetime event designed only for those who have been deemed noteworthy by the letter's writer. All you would have to do is attend and listen, every expense paid.

Your reason for attending is your own, but you have decided to do so. After all, what do you have to lose? The letter was accompanied by a ticket for the next skytrain bound for Centropolis. You now sit in your cabin, along with two other notable characters. You have little in common with one another beyond your destination, but, for the foreseeable future, you are stuck together.

Arvos sat quietly and peacefully. If there was a couch like place or a bench that is where he would be. Otherwise Arvos sit in a chair sipping from a ceramic cup filled with hot water and mint leaves. While his body was near perfectly still his mind was racing curious as to why he of all people were picked. Could whatever he was suppose to receive actually be useful, or would the average wealth of the peasant of that area be going up? So many questions.

Azrael perched next to the window of the cabin, watching as the scenery flew by. Like the demon reclining on the couch, Azrael appeared relaxed. Unlike him, Azrael truly was. The incubus was enjoying himself, enjoying his time away from the life he'd worked hard to build.

He wore one of his favorite forms, a beautiful woman with long black hair and milky white skin. She reclined on a cushioned divan, wearing a sheer black silk nightgown over.. pretty much nothing. She wears long black gloves that reach up past her elbows. Two silver bands with black braids adorn his hands, one on each ring finger. Gracing her neck is a silver chain with a ruby engraved locket carved the shape of a rose. The locket adds accent to her painted lips, which in turn compliment her brilliant red eyes.

She smiles at each of her companions, but her smile is shallow, and shoes little interest. She carries no discernible weapon other than a single long thin and curved black dagger, which has a ruby rose set into the pommel.

Arvos glances to the lavishly dressed woman. His eyes gaze at what she wears but not truly at her. His inquisitive mind turns from the troubles of his travels and instead sizing up her outfit. In comparison his outfit made him seem truly like a commoner. While he was in nice linens it was only linen. His pants were deep brown and loose to give good movement. His shirt was black, sleeveless and tight to not get in the way, and his deep brown overcoat fell to near his shoe-less feat. He appeared to not were a single weapon on him. His deep red skin, the horns, and his wings made him look just like a small version of the Arch-devil Mephistopheles.

His eyes stayed locked upon the form of this woman. She was obviously magical but he chose to not press further and invade her privacy by trying find more out about an non hostile stranger. Yet he could not look away from those jewels. The number of desperate people that could live well off those jewels... it disgusted him a little.

Also in the cabin was a man who could only be described as a bipedal dragon, though he was, at the moment, sleeping soundly in his bunk.

A knock came at the door to the hallway. A moment later, the door slid open and a woman in the uniform of a skytrain attendant stood in the doorway. Her skin was made of shimmering, iridescent scales. "We will be arriving at our first Cosmopolis stop within two hours. Is there anything I can fetch you? A snack? Refreshments?"

Arvos turned his head first to gaze at the sleeping dragon finding him or rather it because it was hard for him to tell man or woman with those people. When the attendant popped in Arvos began to breathe once more so that he could talk,"A little more hot water would be nice." he said in a voice that would be rather heavily accented with the language from his dead lands.

At the mention of hot water, the draconic being snorts in amusement before speaking.

"I will have whatever meat you can offer, uncooked if possible. And some of the strongest alcohol you can muster."

He turns his head towards the woman and opens his left eye, its inverted colors of black sclera and yellow iris fixated on the woman.

Azrael regards the iridescent creature with true interest, the first interest she'd shown for the duration of the trip. She smiles but says nothing.

The spellscale woman acknowledges both requests with a smile and a nod. As she turns, an explosion from up ahead rocks the cabin.

Arvos tilts his head back and drains the contents of the cup before setting it down carefully. He stands out in a very smooth and fluid motion before walking to the door to slide it open. As he steps out his fingers suddenly grow into wicked claws more than a foot long that glow and seethe with a powerful white energy.

Sighing at the continued interruption of his slumber, the draconic figure sits up, his wings folding over his shoulders and clasping together in front. Wearily he comments:

"I very much hope that wasn't the thing that is holding us aloft. I am far too sleepy to fly the rest of the way."

On how his wings fold, think goliath from gargoyles.

Arvos

The multicolored and many-varied heads of other passengers peek from out of their cabins while the spellscale attendant and others in uniform try to keep order. To your left, the door between the cabin and the outside is pried open. Raven-headed men in hoods enter wielding weapons.

Guntar and Azrael

A thud sounds from the outer wall of the cabin. Outside the window, you see a number of lupine-looking draconic creatures. On their backs are raven-headed men in battle array.

Azrael smiles and comments, "Mmm, that much I can agree with." She slides her ornate dagger out of it's sheath, standing lightly and whispering into her left-hand ring. The ring glows, and her dagger disappears, replaced by a similarly ornate shortbow of black wood with a red bow-string. The sheer gown slowly lengthens and changes, becoming a beautifully crafted black suit of elven-stylized chainmail, accented in red.

Across her lower back is a quiver to accompany her bow, full of arrows made of a similarly dark wood and and fletched with bright red feathers. Her grin widens and, after deciding the form was to her liking, laughs. She tilted her head to the side, her red eyes wide with excitement. Turning towards the window she says, "Ah, look! Kenku! I haven't slaughtered anything in far too long haha!"

For just a moment Arvos begain to twist and limber up his body as if he were about to break into dance, then suddenly he was in the air. Soaring with impressive speed over the head of the attendants even with his wings folded, he descended upon the invading Kenku hoping to draw their attention away from the helpless passengers and attendants. Calling out mockingly to the Kenku as his burning claws cleaved through any Kenku unlucky enough to get caught,"Fight me if you dare you cowards."
