If you had to give a theme song for your campaign (whetever you're a player or GM), what would it be?

A campaign I GM'd eight months ago fit the song The Woods and The Goddess (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IADBko6a9XQ).

It was a fantasy game centred around strange mysteries and unexplored ruins in the wilderness.

Without a doubt, it's "I Had a Hat" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSk0SxaXgbw&feature=related&safety_mode=true&persist_safety_mode=1&safe=active). The knight in our group requests it in every inn.

This one sounds like a remix of the Deus Ex theme to me.

In a Star Wars Saga Edition game we ran a while ago, our theme song was "Legendary Machine" from Kirby Air Ride.

I know it sounds silly, but that song really fits the Star Wars feel.

And no, I don't have a link for you. I might find one eventually.

The theme for my Blood of the Dragon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cm34zcMrsBI) campaign (The characters are stuck between three (but really four :P) warring factions during an uprising against the Dragon-baron of Reiksburg).

The theme for my Red Wings (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rylGAWfck-c) campaign (the characters, with no memories, have just escaped from Hell back to the world of the living and are haunted by a mysterious Red-Winged angel).

And the theme for my Darkest Darkness (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJtUHjUoQlk) campaign (the characters try to solve a series of murders committed 30 years ago in "Transylvania", during a battle between heaven and earth).

the last campaign i DMed was a fairly generic "heroes fight against a villain to save the world" kind of campaign, with emphasis on the heroic. the party raced against a group of villains of Khorvaire (Eberron) and beyond, till the climax in Thronehold, as several dozens dragons fight in the skies above them, and an ancient evil (cliche) is trying to get loose, fighting them and taking control of the dragons to fight them.

we haven't used much music in the campaign, but i listened to a lot of Two Steps From Hell as i planned the campaign and sessions, and i put some of their music (and other music) in the campaign.

the play list for the final epic battle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ1GbBlS9wM&list=PL28C0D9F897841003&feature=view_all) (7 songs), kind of portray the whole campaign.

those sound like interesting campaigns. i'd love to hear more about them. do you happen to have campaign logs, or notes and such? in order to not derail the thread, can we discuss this over IM?

I've had a theme song for almost every campaign I've run. Rather than try to list every single one I'll cover the top ones.

For when the players delved into a set of caverns that turned out to be much much deeper than they expected, leading them to face off with an undead dwarven necromancer set on restoring a long dead dwarven civilization this (http://youtu.be/zf2aIVKp1OY).

For when the players were a set of monstrous magical experiments on the loose in a bizarre wizard's tower this (http://youtu.be/iDpYBT0XyvA)

For my current Eberron campaign this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MVonyVSQoM) (Which should explain everything you need to know about the campaign)

In my Cyberpunk 2020 (http://youtu.be/m3yse4iFacc) campaign, mining colonies have been blown up, corporate offices have been raided, blimps have been stolen (and wives blimpslapped within) with a lot of chaos in between. There's a definite undercurrent of power abuse. Some might argue however that this is the theme song (http://youtu.be/rMh-vcNKA6E).

Prufock: Your game sounds absolutely fantastic based solely on the song. It really should be the great murderhobo anthem.

Sadly no logs. I tried once, on the last one (Blood of the Dragon, I posted them in reverse chronological order) but didn't hold for long. Too much of a commitment :smalltongue:

I'd love to answer more specific questions over IM though! GMs love to talk about their games...

I'm also playing in a Fallout Campaign (http://youtu.be/GRIXVqhGMfs). We get into a lot of hijinx in the greater Reykjavík Metropolitan area, dealing with Slavers, American GI Nation, Super Muties, Russian Cyborgs and their hot sisters.

I've got an entire campaign based off of, to some degree, Queen songs. The setting is a very, very magical continent called Rhye (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wb2_NVQljwY), and in the very middle of it there is a wide, deep valley with a huge magical city named Nevermore (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXKiixkdKyU). Currently, it's ran by two half-dragon women, one called The White Queen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7_2Vg2PZ2Y), who is half silver and works the general law enforcement throughout the day and all public foreign relations, while The Black Queen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC9HUEuLlYo) is half black and runs the city during the night, controls the trade and leisurely activities. The main antagonist in this whole thing is a half-glabrezu warlock named Great King Rat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2ZxV7wul8A), and he's the sort of recurring villain who, somehow, no matter how many times he's defeated, manages to escape and come back to have another go at conquering Nevermore, and then all of Rhye (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1j-6vRykFs).

That's our groups theme song in general. I wish I could find more players that would like our quirky group, but alas I live in the middle of srs biz land. I must have at least 50% of the lulz loving nerds in town in my group.

The last game I ran was about a party of orcs trying to reform the horde from the fractured clans. It sounded like this (http://youtu.be/mk56fwfX9pk?t=45s).

I have picked out themes for each of my characters as well as the empire, but I don't think any of them really count due to my group not playing music.

Empire's Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GauhWG340dI

Alex's theme (prince so his theme is a remix of the empire's theme): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8owIWRkf6g&feature=relmfu

Iseria's Theme (Warrior Woman):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yff0LH-iGE0

My newest game uses this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzZWSrr5wFI&ob=av2n). The game is kind of a wild west/arabian knights mix up with a post-apocalyptic feel to it.
I'm also going to be running an Age of Worms campaign starting this fall. This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQJCi4RVFZ8) will be Diamond Lake's Theme.
