Its on google docs (https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1z9zbqdspm-fDLE7bM30Zi5FLEV-qkMe0ex5KtWijIMU/edit)

I still have quite a bit of work, but I'm not planning to fill in all the details. It's meant to be a low magic setting, and low level; maybe even E6.

You'll notice I used only Homebrew Base Classes. At first, it was coincidence, then I challenged myself. After going through almost all the homebrew classes on this forum, I found a handful to pick.

Humans are a much smaller race. I wanted a world without them, but it just didn't feel right. I'll have some basic history up later, but essentially a Black Plague wiped almost all of the Humans out. Driving the living ones mad.

Most populous races; Halflings and Goblins, two races I feel that don't get enough credit.

Things I wanted but didn't get:

I wanted Artificer Gnomes without the Artificer Class, but couldn't find a homebrew class to fill the void.

Suprising fun: The Minecrafter class works perfectly with tunneling dwarves; that was not planned

More notes: This world has no outsiders or such except elementals. Because of lower levels, a sealed imp would be a dangerous and legendary demon(Sort of)

I don't think there are any summoning classes...but there are no other planes to speak of, or planar travel. If needed, I recommend only adding the elemental planes, ethereal, and plane of shadow and the Astral Plane(maybe).

Be very open to official prestige classes, maybe even ignoring prereqs. The biggest problem homebrew classes often have is that they don't qualify for existing PrCs.

Thoughts? Recommendations? I'm still in development, so there is room for addition.

Incidentally, there's a prestige class in Magic of Faerun called the Gnome Artificer. :smallcool:

HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS!!!!

Oh, and the world looks cool too. Not certain about how limiting the humans is going to work; it seems to run into the problem the Giant mentioned about "yeah humans are rare... except there's one (or more) in every adventuring party." Also, why is the outlook so bleak that shrine warriors are "the one class welcomed by all people because they symbolize survival"? It seems that a plague that to all appearances only affects one race(the humans) wouldn't seem to cut it.

Its under the assumption that humans used to be the biggest civilization. Because of their position in trade, and as an ally, when the entire human race was almost wiped out- other countries took severe economic and scientific hits. As-is, the world is very suspicious of other races, trying to figure out who caused the plague that wiped out the humans.

In the end its this; "If it could happen to them, it could happen to us. We should be cautious."
Plus, Shrine Warriors are the only ones Automatically Accepted, other classes are welcomed depending on their purpose, but they are watched.

Incidentally, there's a prestige class in Magic of Faerun called the Gnome Artificer.

I know there's a few PrCs for that archtype, but I'm looking for a base class for the gnomes of it.

You could always use Jarian's Alchemist (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=245132) class.

I added it this morning

It makes me quite happy.

Hey Madara, I'm really glad you liked the Shrine Warrior enough to add it to your world  Please, let me know how it plays out!

Just a little warning about its spell list, though: it doesn't have the utterly broken Shapechange, but it does have Polymorph, which might or might not be a bit too powerful for your tastes and the low-magic feel of your world. If you want to keep the list intact but reduce the power level (and brokenness) of that spell, I recommend using PF's fix for the Polymorph line of spells

Sounds good, although if it came up I'd just ban polymorph.

Edit: You know that feeling when someone brings your thread back to life? :smallwink:

I'm looking for feedback on doing a split plane. What are the thoughts? How should I do travel between the two?

Do I keep the same Races and Classes on this other side, and just change the geography and history?

I believe the "easiest" or "safest" way to get from one plane to the other in your cosmology would be to travel to the Astral and from there to the opposite plane. Traveling through the "core" would be more precise, but much more dangerous.

On the other side, I would make it completely different myself, but not diametrically opposed to the "right" side. Maybe use more exotic races, change a few laws of nature, that kind of thing. The classes available would pretty much be a consequence of those changes, I guess.

Awesome sauce, now begins the hunt for more homebrew base classes!

A few more updates;
World 1 is almost done, with only two continents left.

World 2 has races picked, but there is going to be a lot of work to do. I'm excited to have one side be all monster races.

I am waiting for more classes for world 2, but in the mean time I am planning on starting a PbP game for W1. Any thoughts on what needs fleshing out before hand?
