I know, I know, only Wizards can be Focused Specialists (or simply Specialists, for that matter), but I've been wondering and I think the ACF can easily be applied to the Sorcerer directly.* This might be a bump in both the Sorcerer's power and versatility, which is always welcome (everyone knows by know that the designers pretty much despised spontaneous spellcasting and Sorcerers, more specifically). What do you think of the idea?

*You might want to give it bonus spells known from the chosen school, but even without that, it could work reasonably well.

It's easy enough to build a focused specialist with the existing class with your choice of spells known; stick to one school of magic and BAM, focused specialist.

The idea of extra spell slots also works; iirc the fear-based PRC in complete Mage does this for illusion/phantasm spells.

You could also set up something like a domain for a school of magic, with one additional spell known per spell level of your school and a +1cl when casting those spells.
