This is a sort of side-PbP to the Skype game that, as I was just told, is titled 'the 13 Artifacts'. I got the idea to start this and play out the side-roleplaying that would otherwise be missed (i.e. we walk for 8 hours, what do we do in that time?).

---

The campaign started outside of a tavern called 'the Happy Hippo', where the party met one another. A quick introduction to each character will follow, either in this post or another. After some introductions were had, a bar fight erupted where the party handily defeated a few drunkards and our healing cleric nearly murdered one of them.

Shortly after the fight a herald came into the tavern to announce that the local lord, Lord Kallandir, was offering a generous reward for the completion of a task and that those interested were to gather in the courtyard of his fortress.

Once there, we were briefed on the details of the assignment: the lord's daughter, Iressa, had gone missing during her normal riding one afternoon. We set out to investigate, deciding to go by horseback due to the distance and look in the area she had last been seen. Getting deeper into the forest we tied up the horses and met an elf, whose name even our DM has now forgotten and I will call 'S-T' until we find out what it was. She was looking for her brother who had been abducted by the same group of half-orcs suspected of kidnapping Iressa. Shortly after meeting her we were suddenly attacked by a spider, which we swiftly vanquished.

We continued through the forest, eventually finding S-T's brother who had escaped from the half-orc camp. We sent him off to the nearest elven village and were ambushed by a force of half-orcs led by a beast riding druid. The battle started with our group slightly split up and enemies on all sides. Our movement was hampered by Entangle, but we managed to overcome them.

After this battle we came across a half-orc outpost. We killed one guard and captured the other, forcing him to reveal the location of their camp, and set off to the area he had indicated. On the edge of the camp we found another small group of half-orcs and took them out.

S-T gave us a distraction by blowing up an altar of Gruumsh on the outskirts of the camp, after which we infiltrated it and found Iressa being threatened by a device the half-orcs called 'the Snapper'. We got it off of her and it attached itself to Likkin's arm after a bit of confusion. Then we engaged in heavy combat with the half-orc chief and two of his guards. We defeated them and fled.

Partway to the elven village another group of adventurers intercepted us. Guess what happened? Yep, we were Entagled again. Then I almost killed their leader and they surrendered after a very brief fight.

I'll add more to the synopsis (or my fellow players/ the DM will) as well as character introductions later.

(Wow, this took a long time. Anyways, here we go:)

So, after fighting the other group (they were after the reward for rescuing the lord's daughter, it seemed) we returned to the elven camp and went to the main elven village. The lord actually showed up there as well and we all celebrated the wedding of the daughter and the elven prince. During these few days, an incorporeal two-headed black panther appeared around/above Samantha while she slept.

We went back to the town with the lord. We were invited to a dinner and, upon our arrival to the lord's keep, found that the guard there was in pink armor. The lord inquired as to why and it turned out that the man had gotten himself owned in a duel with a beautiful woman. As a result he had to wear pink armor the next day. The woman turned out to be Samantha's sister, Giselle, who had requested to meet with the lord upon his return.

During the dinner we met Giselle and learned that there was a bit of sibling rivalry between the two. More importantly, their mother (formerly unrepentantly evil due to a family curse; after she gave birth to twins instead of a single daughter she began to turn away from her former wicked ways) died while defending Starlight City from a demon attack. It seems that her body was taken by the demon cultists and Giselle has come to ask Samantha (and her new allies) to help in retrieving it.

The next day we got on the ship to Starlight city. On the first night of the voyage we were attacked by reef pirates, who we easily defeated. Once we arrived to Starlight City we handed them over to the authorities, who executed them.

In Starlight City we had another dinner and spoke with the local lord. He informed us that the body was surrounded by a barrier nobody could get through and protected by the two-headed panther. In the past Samantha had been able to get along with it, so we decided she was our best chance to get by it without a fight. The spiritual adviser, a high-ranking Pelorite, explained that to get through the barrier we needed a 'favor of Pelor'.

We went to the north, to a small town called Ygdral, which had a dragon problem. The town sends lumber to Starlight City and we were told to take care of the dragon and donate 1000 gold from its hoard to the local Pelorite temple (which consists of an old guy and two followers).

Shortly after we arrived, a group of barbarians raided the town and we dealt with the half of the attacking force that had the leader in it. The next day we went out to find a tracker, who led us to the ravine the dragon seemed to lair in after we wandered into one of her bear traps.

In the ravine we found an ice troll, which caused an avalanche that we barely got out of the way of before it came down. We fought it and the dragon, emerging victorious (it helped that almost all of our damage was touch-attack and fire/acid based).

After the fight we found the dragon's hoard and went back to Ygdral. Now we've just returned to Starlight City, retrieved the Favor (in the form of what seems to be a trapped sunbeam sort of thing in a vial) and will soon continue on to the location where the body of Samantha and Giselle's mother is.
