Comic 588 panel 1.

We V meant to say aerial livery service or aerial delivery service? And if te former, what do uniforms have to do with the situation? Or is there another definition Im missing?

If there is a misspelling, it will either be corrected in the print version of the strip or won't be corrected at all. Online strips are hardly ever spelling-corrected, especially not ones so old.

Livery, as in being a servant (servant uniforms are known as livery), as in V is not Hinjo's servant in the air (or otherwise).

Livery is the colors that servants wear, but is being used as a metonymy for the servants themselves. It's a pun on aerial delivery service which means "I'm not flying just to act on your commands."

Misspellings are not at all uncommon in OOTS.

It's not worth pointing them out unless it's in the most recent strip.

Did you see the one in #855?

True, but if you aren't sure if it's a misspelling or not, it's OK to ask. In this case, the OP understands one more joke out of asking.

I don't think it's a joke. The livery/ delivery pun doesn't really work. I'm about 98% sure it's just an error.

Also cabs and cars for hire are often called (in formal and/or legal contexts at least) livery services. V is saying he's not a taxi you can just hail and get a ride from.

V is just the character to use a more obscure word when there are common ways to say something. I say it's no mistake.

I've never heard that before, but I've looked it up, and you're right.

Okay then, not a pun or a mistake. It all makes sense now.
