I've been using all of my google-fu in an attempt to find a set of rules for a game I remember seeing here on the forums. It was called the 'God Game' or something similar. From what I remember it is a game where a group of people play as gods and create a world together. There are multiple phases to the game, between creating the physical world, the races that will live upon it, and interacting with the other gods. My plan was to have my players play this with me to create a new world for an upcoming Pathfinder game. I figure if they helped create the setting, they would remember the important points about it as well as have more fun playing in general. The only thing I have found so far is this thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=224365). Any help in finding the original rules or those who had created them will be appreciated.

I believe that this (http://www.clanwebsite.org/games/rpg/Dawn_of_Worlds_game_1_0Final.pdf) is what you were looking for. Its called Dawn of Worlds.

Been a while since I've seen this mentioned... (http://www.clanwebsite.org/games/rpg/Dawn_of_Worlds_game_1_0Final.pdf)

Not that hard to find, really. I just googled "world-creating game". It was the third link or so.

Well, from what I have seen on the pbp games God games now usually use either the Godhood set of rules(much more simpler, less defined) or Lords of Creation(more specific on what you can do). Both of the rules set can easily be found on the forum.
Here is the Godhood game I am in. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=247167)

Yeah, but what he described was a dead ringer for Dawn of Worlds. Which I only know about because there was a game months back in the world-building subforum.

Dawn of Worlds is a great game, it's definitely what you're looking for. It's excellent for developing a shared setting, I've used it that way a few times. There are a few house-rules I'd advise you to use though.
In the first age, change shape land and shape climate cost only 1 point each. Makes the world get shaped more quickly, and encourages burning leftover points on land.
Consider using hex paper, or some other kind of grid paper. That way, instead of inch measurements you can use hexes. Makes it easier to use shape land power, and gives you a sense of scale.
You should write down some world guidelines before you start play so you have a rough idea of what needs to get made, what things you don't want included, etc. When making your gods you should write down 3 or so spheres/domains or whatever. And you might want to designate someone as the record keeper, writing down each player's turn.

Have fun, and hope it goes well. If you need any help on making races your players come up with, let us know.

PS. Damn, I love me some dawn of worlds. I need to start a game.

We had a series of games going in the Playground called "Lords of Creation".
You can see the wiki we made for one of our games here (http://locitp.mornproductions.com/Index).

Huh, it looks to me like someone went and actually compiled it into a working campaign setting, not sure if it has the rules there still. Trying to find a post somewhere that had at least one version of the rules...

Googling for Lords of Creation doesn't help, as there's another obscure RPG by that name.

Edit: HERE (http://locitp.mornproductions.com/RulesCategory) you should find some rules for how to play this.

Edit: I found even more variants on the forum! Here's (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179671) a 2010 game, here' (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=12747326#post12747326)s a 2012 game that seems to have not gotten very far off the ground, just a couple of months before dying. You should be able to figure out hte basics from that. I've played 2 of these games, the first one ended when a bunch of people got mad at the low-level exploits that were going on in the game, so they figured out a super-exploit and broke the game. That's the game that gave me my current screen name.

The second game is one I can only find the IC threads, which are great to go look back at, that was when I was actually decent at role-playing, or something approaching decent.
