★ Minecraft

Minecraft is a game about placing blocks while running from skeletons. Or something like that. The game involves players creating and destroying various types of blocks in a three dimensional environment. The player takes an avatar that can destroy or create blocks, forming fantastic structures, creations and artwork across the various multiplayer servers in multiple game modes.

★ Terraria

Terraria is a game about placing blocks while running from skeletons, but in 2D! Well, okay. There's more of a focus on exploration, finding rare weapons and materials, and battling increasingly powerful foes as you carve out a home or two on the side.

After the loss of the Chocolate Hammer TF2 server the community split in two general directions. Mumble and IRC. Everyone is welcome on both.

Used as a lounge area for people to meet up and talk to each other. If you want to play a competitive game such as LoL, DotA2, T:A, or SC2, this is the place to be.

IRC is the general all-day hangout for many people, even while at work or roaming on their phones. Subjects of conversation shift everywhere, games of L4D2 are arranged, and PbP RPG's happen right in the channel.

Beat Dark Souls just now. Amazing sense of accomplishment on beating such a hard game. The hardest part for me though was...

Sif. Not that I died, or even got hit (Bows and tumbling back). It's just when she gets to low health and starts limping/struggling to stand... God it made me feel like a monster.

Looks to me that you get 1 junk item every time you get 1 weapon/hat. You still only get crates by themselves though.

You may not feel like counting with that many games, but I tried that link and didn't care for it _that_ much. It's a very nice visualization, but it also can't distinguish some things. Some games came with other games I wouldn't have bothered with anyway (The Orange Box gave me HL2 DM, HL2 DM:S, CS:S, CS:S Beta...) It also counts games that I simply didn't buy. (TF2 Beta, Napoleon: Total War which I think is a free trial at the moment?) I ignored stuff that I didn't actually buy and my percentage was much more realistic.

I really like their special. The voting and announcement gives a reason to check GOG and see what won, as well as look forward to what may be on sale next. Well anyways, from a quick trip to the wiki heres what I gathered. We've got seven new items: banana peel (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Banana_Peel), barn door plank (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Barn_Door_Plank), cheese wheel (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Cheese_Wheel), damaged capacitor (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Damaged_Capacitor), pocket lint (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Pocket_Lint), secret diary (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Secret_Diary) and goldfish (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Goldfish). All of them have odd mysterious descriptions which are complete nonsense mostly, but when you have a set for the medic (Eliminating the Impossible (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Eliminating_The_Impossible)), the descriptions of the items will change. When put together, they say "Think of the deeds of hellish cruelty, the hidden wickedness which may go on, year in, year out, in such places, and none the wiser."

On an unrelated note, what do you guys think about the TF2 Warehouse? I really like the premise although I feel like every single item is a bad deal. The new patch doesn't fix anything (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/June_21,_2012_Patch). Oddly enough, it adds a "bug". But only in foreign versions. It's nothing negative either, and it occurs only when you craft two banana peels.

The new patch doesn't fix anything (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/June_21,_2012_Patch). Oddly enough, it adds a "bug". But only in foreign versions. It's nothing negative either, and it occurs only when you craft two banana peels.

Deus Ex collection for $15. Buy it, or save my money or the steam summer sale? I've heard good things, but I don't know if I want to shell out cash quite yet.

If I didn't own it, I'd buy it.

Deus Ex is pretty much my favorite game. It has its flaws, aged graphics and bad combat AI, but I will never tire of the multiple paths to accomplish your missions and how the game responds to the player's decisions. I play Deus Ex every year, at least once.

Invisible War is actually a decent game, IF you don't call it Deus Ex. Yes, it's a terrible let-down for a DX sequel, but you could remove the name and probably enjoy it. It's much more linear and restrictive, but it's a decent game to rush through in an afternoon.

DX:HR is a good game. It's in the middle of the two, for me. It's much better than DX:IW, but not as good as the first, if my nostalgia glasses aren't too thick. In the first game, I still (rarely) find something I don't remember or haven't seen before. It took me two playthroughs, but I explored basically everywhere (AFAIK) in DX:HR and got a good 75+ hours out of it.

Honestly, I'd say that a 15$ package of Deus Ex is a solid choice. If you have the money, buy it. If you don't, at least consider the original for that low sale price. I'd be willing to buy anyone Deus Ex for the 2.50 if they have never played it before. It's an old game, and it does show in places, but it's still a classic.

EDIT: Actually, come to think of it, I don't have the Missing Link yet. I was waiting for the price to drop. Thoughts, anyone?

Also I seem to recall the third life extender machine having been completed the day Lincoln was shot. So yes, it could definitely happen.

Personally, I think this Poopy Joe nonsense is all a red herring. I'm still a proponent of the good 'ol "Pyro is Ms. Pauling" theory, myself. I'm a bit disappointed that I'll be away from a computer when the update drops (presumably), but I should be able to see MtP, provided I can scrounge up some proper internets in this bear-infested hellhole.

Let me settle the guy on the right for you guys. I know the artist who drew that comic (she goes by Makani on the internet). She drew the demoman there, hence the grenades, but the colorist thought it was the pyro, and colored in the gasmask and fire.

I'm calling a woman, though Ms. Pauling is always at the Administrator's side when she's not doing whatever she's being tasked to do something for either team, so it's extremely unlikely. In addition, she also gave everyone Stocking Stuffer Keys in 2010, and the Pyro still has to buy things themselves.

Oh yeah, and Valve said Meet the Pyro will be in the first person. I'm not sure if they're going through with that or not, but only time will tell.

I have been playing it a good bit. It's quite the change of pace for me. Piss easy to play after playing Tribes though.

That song looks amazingly intense, I gotta try it with ninja mono...

The hardest song for me as ninja mono is This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVbkKyb9XqU) simply because the song changes speed so much (constant jumps forward and stops, the length and speed of the jump varies a lot...) so you'll be hitting a lot of gray blocks or failing to get the correct ones.

I have mixed thoughts about these weapons personally. The soldier one will either be way OP or absolute rubbish. The scout pistol could be good if you don't want to use it for actual fighting and just want to use the scattergun. The SMG doesn't seem too great since if there's 2 enemies within SMG range then you're probably going to have a hard time not dying before you pick the first one off (all with a damage penalty). The sniper rifle actually looks pretty good. The flaregun looks mediocre to me, but I'm sure some people will make it useful.

New SMG is something the Sniper's needed for a while, though with a damage penalty I don't see it being used too much except possibly as short-range cleanup. The new sniper rifle looks decent enough.

The new rocket launcher is exactly what we didn't need: more rocket launchers. The cluster-fire, rocket deviation, and overload chance are interesting, though.

I'm wondering if you can "scorch jump" with it. If it has more of a blast then the detonator, then that could be pretty cool.

I have mixed thoughts about these weapons personally. The soldier one will either be way OP or absolute rubbish. The scout pistol could be good if you don't want to use it for actual fighting and just want to use the scattergun. The SMG doesn't seem too great since if there's 2 enemies within SMG range then you're probably going to have a hard time not dying before you pick the first one off (all with a damage penalty). The sniper rifle actually looks pretty good. The flaregun looks mediocre to me, but I'm sure some people will make it useful.

I thought of that, and realized this is a bad idea, as the time it'll take to switch out your gun, scope in, and aim with one shot will take 1.5-2 seconds. Continuing your SMG fire should remedy that, or using your kukri. Alternatively, you can also use the Shahansha with low health, since that's what'll happen to you. :smallamused:

My question is, clearly both weapons are suppressed. Are we going to see a Silent Killer attribute on either? I mean, suppression doesn't work like it does in the movies, but TF2 is a parody of far too many things.

I think he means if you're engaged with someone who is reasonably close to you. Not like if you're sniping and there's one spy you kill but more like if you're moving around and get attacked by a couple of enemies. Then if you kill the one, you could shoot the remaining one and do considerably more damage than without the buff.

Doubt does not mean you don't know if they're telling the truth or lying, it means you think they're lying, but you have no proof.
In a few cases, a husband has told his wife some things that did not happen, but she believes these things as true. You can't present evidence to her, but you can call her a liar. If you do, she gets prissy and you get penalized. If you call truth, penalty!


Analyzing crime scenes is also poorly done in the PC version. In the console versions of the game, the controller vibrates near evidence. In the PC version, it gives off a weak glint.

Even worse, driving is atrocious. Your car drives along the road as if you're moving to the side with a handbrake (without the handbrake you have), and you're penalized for damage. It's clumsy to control, moves slowly, and the biggest offender: you're penalized for not getting to a scene fast enough. Good luck handling the worst driving in any video game on a keyboard.

If you can suck it up, play it with a controller. If you lack that device, ignore the game completely.

The biggest problem there is that some of the new weapons actually balance the game better. Things like the kritz and degreaser are weapons that I can't really imagine the game without now since they flesh out the class so much better. Also things like Natasha. I'd say about a sixth of the new weapons are actual sidegrades or clear upgrades that were needed (degreaser) but the rest are either so awful why bother having them, or so horribly stupid that they ruin the game. Or overpowered...Like that god awful engie shotgun. I mean, seriously, what the hell? Engie should not be a medic destroyer.

I never had a problem with the driving myself (using an XBox controller, mind), but you're dead right about the interrogations. You're supposed to try and judge whether somebody's lying or not purely from their expressions, and since the game uses the highly-touted real people face thing, you're relying on the actor to get across whether they're lying or not; not all of them are the best at that, and some of them decide to look out-and-out shifty even when they're supposed to be telling the truth.

I got the game on pre-order ages ago and I've never finished it thanks to these problems...I've no doubt I'll give it another go at some point, but I have more interesting stuff in the queue right now.

I actually really liked L.A. Noire. It's got its flaws, but it's trying something new, and it's got a really good story and interesting characters.

I'm going to have to disagree with the DLC missions being ignored. A lot of events that occur in them are mentioned in the main game, offhand or not. It's even worse considering when it first released, the PS3 had exclusivity to the missions, so the 360 players were questioning what the hell everyone was discussing. To add insult to injury, the PSN went down the very next week.

However, it's not a bad thing here, since you'll buy the complete edition, if anything. Right?

Yeah, the Pomson to me is an annoyance, but not a significant threat. Sure if I get hit with it, it reduces my total uber, but it's only like what, 10%? If I'm in a situation where the uber is needed, I would have already popped before the Engie tries his pew pew gun.
Now as a Dead Ringer counter, that makes the Pomson somewhat worth it. Provided that you can actually hit a spy with it.

I think the difference in preferences if you like or dislike this one is if you're a fan of the horror of the surreal. Playing with expectations like that is also one of the things used to create comedy as well.

Outside of the fact that heavies are really easy to kill as a pyro if you ambush them or fight in close quarters, think about the heavy's background. He's a merc, he fights for money. The pyro? Anyways, I had a hunch (read: nothing) that the Machina (already had one) and the Bazaar Bargain (I wanted one last week, so I traded for it) would be used in the new Sniper Rifle recipe, so I now have the Heatmaker. It's really an intense gun, but I'm not sure how I'll use it yet.

What sort of pyro would close to melee range on a spy? This isn't a heavy that needs to be cooked to a crisp, spies are better at a good medium, which is out of melee range!

I always wondered why the heck it wasn't. I've played DDO obsessively for over a year now, but in the last few weeks I've been playing CoH again, since I realized I'd done everything in DDO.

But the next update is raising the cap to epic levels, so there's no way I'll be able to keep myself from playing.
