Gunner Wadock:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AUzFQhsrL4o/T-IMqsFCRMI/AAAAAAAAAKo/hraRViLAXCs/s1600/Gunner+Wadock.png
Synopsis: You have been hired by the Merchants Guild in Fellig to guard a caravan on the treacherous route to Corvis. The journey will take more than two weeks and passes through rocky mountain passes, dense forest, and swampy lowlands. For your services you are to be paid 100 Crowns (gold) each at the end of the trip.

You all arrive as Gunner Wadock, the merchant you’ve been hired to escort is finishing loading his last few crates. The caravan consists of 5 horse drawn wagons with an additional 4 pack horses tied off on the rear cart. From what can be seen, it’s a packed load. The wagons have open tops with several crates tied down and even some chests lashed to the sides. "I’d say ya got about a half-hour before we go. Once the gobbos lash down the last of them crates we’re punching out to Corvis. If you have any last minute needs, now is your last chance. Otherwise, feel free to stow your gear where you see fit and grab a spot. If you got mechstuff that needs charging, get with Jeedem and top em off." He point over to the Gobber sitting in the driver’s seat of the third wagon. "We don’t want your gear going out on the road."

OOC:
At this point your characters have a chance to purchase anything they may need (if they haven't already). Once on the trail, the wagons will be single file as numbered. You can stash gear on the wagons, but you will obviously be required to keep you weapons on you.

Pick where you will be for the marching order for the trip. You can walk, sit next to a driver, or on top of the crates in the back. The first wagon will have Gunner Waddock and his driver up front(another human named Viggo).

The trip is two weeks, Jeedem is a bodger who has hacked up a way to transfer charges from a scrapped super-heavy he keeps on his wagon into smaller accumulators. He'll recharge you every few nights.

Caggedar heaves his laden pack onto a shoulder, looking at the wagons in order. As his eyes settle on the third cart, he grunts quietly and moved towards it, stowing his pack and mounting the seat next to it's Gobber pilot.

James

James shrugged at the offer to prepare some more. He had what he needed and didn't have enough gold to get anything else, so he shrugged his pack in the cart he was directed to do so and waited near the crates in the rear of the caravan. He spent a moment adjusting his shoulder holster for his bow, making sure he had a clean draw, adjusting his hat to protect his eyes from the sun and finally adjusting his belt because he was bored. He didn't say anything, but the way his eyes looked over the others in the group said that he was studying them, gauging their abilities as best he could and deciding how much effort he was going to be putting into this job.

Alacyr lets his gaze pass over the caravan, nodding absently as he listened to the merchant. After Wadock finishes talking, Alacyr pats his claymore hanging on his back, commenting in his odd accent "No need to worry about such things for me, thanks though."As the others broke off, he noted where they went and made his way between the first and second cart. While waiting for the merchants to get underway, Alacyr shifts his claymore so that he'd be comfortable for the long march. And he spends the rest of the time getting lost staring at a pocket watch, murmuring in an odd language.

After Wadock finishes talk Caine moves to cart #2 were after checking over his gear to make sure he had everything he need and nothing was left at the Union bunk house, he quickly removes the package he is suppose to deliver from his backpack and puts it in an inner pocket of his jacket. He then grabs his Liber Mechanika and writting tools out and takes a seat next to the driver where he spends to rest of the time looking over his spells and notes he had written in the book and then proceeds to start drawing eary sketches for future constructs he would like to build when he recieves the proper funding.

Almost two weeks in, the trip has been relatively uneventful. As the sun begins to start setting, the caravan exits the forest. Rolling through a clearing, it slows to a halt. Gunner hops down from the lead wagon, Gents, can I get you to check out the area, we’re setting up camp here for the night. The easy parts over. We have the Thornwood behind us. It’s Widower’s Wood that causes this to be called the muck-run. We ‘ll have three hard days of swamp ahead of us, then well be at the City of Ghosts.

James and Cagedaar
The two of you find a trail left by what you suspect to be a gorax. From the signs of it, it looks to have been moving towards Widower's Wood. There are occational blood droplets along the path.

Alacyr checks his watch, and tells the others, "I'll walk the perimeter for the next couple hours. I'll try and stay in sight, or at least earshot. If anything happens, just yell." And with that, Alacyr unsheathed his claymore and made his way a good twenty yards out before starting his stroll around camp, going out about ten yards with every cycle, hoping he'd find this creature before it gets anywhere near the camp.

James

The rather rugged and ragged looking man sort of hangs in the back of things while everything is going on. His keen eyes help him spot the trail and the blood along with one of the other fellows but, other then that, he doesn't really do or say much. When the other fellow that spotted the trail beckons for him to follow, James nods and goes about it as quietly as possible.

James and Caggedar:The trail is easy enough to follow back to its source. Much of the waist-high wild grass is broken over from when the beast passed through. As Caggedar follows the trail it eventually opens to a larger area of flattened grass. The area has blood splattered is several directions. From the scraps of flesh and other animal sign, it appears that the gorax killed a wild-boar or two; likely it was just hunting for a meal. The pools of blood have either soaked into the ground or dried, and the flesh bits have flies all over them. The kill shows to have happened several hours ago.

The blood left on the trail was the drips left from the dead swine’s carcass. Any surviving animals from the drove have scattered already. There seems to be little else of interest here.

Alacyr:Alacyr finds nothing of intrest on the other side of the trail. The area seems safe enough to camp for now.

As Caggedar follows the trail off towards Widower’s Wood, Gunner give a call out to Caggedar, If he’s run off into the wood, we don’t be needing to follow. I’m not paying to have you go looking for the trouble. Just be ready in case he returns.

Waddock’s crew sets the camp and starts cooking a meal. As they sit around the fire to eat they discuss the woods.
Gorax eh? I’m not too concerned about a gorax or two. Its them swamp shamblers that will get you. You see, these dark swamps ‘r cursed. Anyone who dies and is left in the Wood will rise up and come after those that left ‘em.

Those are just ghost stories. Swampies been calling this place home since ol Menoth s*** man out his bum. Them blokes die just like anyone else… why aren’t their mates coming kill them if they never leave the Wood? … eh?… nothing to say there huhh?

There not just stories… you can ask the swampies tomorrow. I’m sure they’ll tell you all about them. The driver pauses for a second. I suppose you’re going to say that the Prospector is just a story too. People saw him… people alive today seen him first-hand, putting his gold in the Corvis bank.

Orven?!? Aye he’s real… real dead. No one’s seen that git in over 20 years. Maybe one of your shamblers got em. The second driver chuckles a little.

If not him, then something else in the Wood, it’s not as if it lacks options. I hear his gold is still in the banks vault. No one has ever turned up with the chits to claim it.

The Gunner chimes in as he fixes a serving, You bunch whine like a couple of women.

The men continue on having a casual conversation, eating as they talk.

Content that his search came up empty, Alacyr makes his way back toward camp. Upon hearing the conversation, Alacyr can only give a crooked smile. He speaks up to them as he finds a comfortable place on the ground where he can keep watch. "Perhaps you should put more faith in ghost stories. In my land, our ghosts are real, and you may find yourself hunted by those you once loved. Though you needn't worry, we mercenaries will protect you from your 'shamblers' and the like." Looking to the other mercenaries, he adds, "That reminds me, does any of you care how we will take watch? I and another can each go split the night, and then catch up on sleep in a wagon during the morning."

Waddock addresses the question of guard shifts, You won't want to be doing that. Tomorrow we'll be in Widower's Wood. We'll need everyone rested and alert. I've lost men just stopping to let them piss. The mist gets so thick you can't even see your dragon.

Go get the gold... Aye, good luck with that. The chits are written on a specially treated vellum and affixed with a seal. You'd have a better chance breaking in. No, the only way to get that gold is to find his mine. Many have tried, most don't return. Legends say it's on the east bank of the Black. That was the gate he was seen coming through.

Edit: changed west to east. Wrote the wrong side of the river.

The next day’s travel takes you deep into Widower’s Wood. The place feels aptly named. As you entered, the black, twisted trees join overhead forming a thick canopy of entangled branches which keeps the air stale and blots out the sun. The entire swampy forest has a perpetual misty fog. With the trees blocking most of the sun and the fog obscuring your sight, the place feels almost subterranean. The trail follows the stiffest sections of ground, but that still leaves the wagons’ wheels the better part of a foot deep in the mossy muck at times. The horses are straining to pull the wagons through. The only sounds are the rattles of the wagons and the buzzing of insects.

OOC:
Limited sunlight\Light fog conditions - The wagons have oil lamps that add some light, but it also brightens the fog. The fog obscures all sight beyond 30 feet, including darkvision (provides total concealment). Creatures 15 feet away have typical concealment (20% miss chance)

As they enter the forest, Alacyr makes his way about ten feet in front of the caravan. "Let us hope nothing has given way since last you traveled here." He says as he passes Gunner. Staying as dry and unstuck as possible, he keeps an eye out for any natural hazards that may have come about since last anyone passed through here.

James

As quiet as ever James peers carefully through the fog, watching for signs of danger. For some reason his bow is still in the harness on his back, when most would have them in hand. Something about the way he sits though, the way his arm twitches as sounds he can't quickly identify, suggests the holstering of the bow is a matter of formality. To make things easier for the horses he has removed himself from his perch on the crates and now walks along side with some of the others.

The first day in the Wood is grueling and exhausting. For those that walked, their legs are on fire. The soft muddy ground is slowing you down, and the fog keeps you on high alert. If it wasn’t for gunner and his experienced drivers, you would likely lose the path and get lost.

After a long 11 hour day of driving, the caravan finally reaches a small swampie waypoint. This family of humans have chosen to setup their home on the midpoint of the path; providing travelers a needed respite and a place to sleep out of the muck.

The home consists of two structures. The north side has the "inn", which is really nothing more than a large room with some hammocks and a bricked fire-pit. On the south side of the path is the family home. It’s a small run down shack made from scavenged materials and local wood. The side of the home has a lean-to roof, underneath are strange looking animal pelts and scattered stacks of peat bricks left out to dry.

OOC
Those who walked are fatigued
Fatigued: A fatigued character can neither run nor charge and takes a –2 penalty to Strength and Dexterity. Doing anything that would normally cause fatigue causes the fatigued character to become exhausted. After 8 hours of complete rest, fatigued characters are no longer fatigued.

James

Thanks to the warning, James was ready. The moment the attack began James hands blurred to his bow. It was in his holster one moment and out the next. Any person who had ever used a bow before would probably say James was doing it wrong. He didn't take aim properly and wasn't even holding the bow in the bow exactly right. But something about it, at least in James' hands, seemed to fit together. With shots based as much on intuition as skill, James let fly two arrows in rapid succession.

No offense, but James would have been in the back of the caravan. And after being fatigued yesterday he'd also be on one of the wagons again, caring less for the horse then himself. XD

Gunner Waddock moves atop the crates in his wagon, as a gobber comes into sight, his pistol lets out a loud boom. His round finds its target, hitting him squarely in the left arm (01 hit for 3hp)

One gobber drinks from a vial and his muscles then swell in size as it runs to the cart. Viggo, the lead driver; jumps from his wagon with his sword drawn and swings just a hair too wide (miss on 12).

The other standing driver tries to club the gobbers that have started to raid his cart, but the short thieves are too quick and little for him (miss on 08).

James let fly two arrows in rapid succession. The first arrow hitting its target right in the face; instantly dropping it to the ground dead (09-dead). The second flying just overhead of its mark as the scared creature dives under the wagon(07-under wagon).

K.Mechanika DC21:The device is a crude heating element that is boiling some kind of fog producing substance. There's no accumulator. Even as he speaks, his eyes are scanning the fog for the shadowy forms of the ambushers. His tone is low, indicating that he is also listening closely.

Once the pack horse has been tied into the lead wagon, Waddock goes over to the wagon Caggedar is sitting in. I need you to drive this wagon until that lazy bastard wakes. It's easy enough. This one pulls left, this one to the right. Oh, and don't fall asleep on me. He jests, poking a little fun. The biggest one in the Wood, and a tiny little gobber knocked you out with a dart... haaa!

As the orgun tries to drive the wagon, he slowly is drifting to the right of the path. He pulls on the reins to correct the animal, but his massive strength is to much for the horse. It's head jerks to the left... the wagon quickly follows and gets caught in the muck on the other side of the trail.

Good grief man... You're trying to direct the horse, not break its neck. Waddock gives a quick class on how to work with the animal as they work the wagon out and back onto the path. See.. like this.. you need to be gentle.. but still firm and in control.

Waddock bellows out in laughter as the wagon, which was just freed from mud on the left side rolls over and into the right side. Haaa... Well, maybe that's the best way for you then. Apparently the caravan lifestyle is not for you. I'd say your in the right profesion, but you didn't really do that to well either. You're just having a hell of a day aren't you.

[After about two hours]

You clear the swampy morass of Widower’s Wood. The black twisted trees part, and the ever-present mist finally thins and clears. Ahead of you is Covis, City of Ghosts. A low wall surrounds an impossibly dense mass of stone structures. Marble spires, toppled with gold, burst through the fog and smoke at street level, reaching for the heavens. A tangle of bridges and arches ensnare everything in a stony grasp.

Gunner Wadock raises his voice to be heard over the creaking wagons. We'll be first off to see Father Dumas at the Church of Morrow. We have quite a few crates of his. He can tend our wounds and hopefully wake these two ingrates. Once we’re there I’ll mark your papers so you can collect your pay.

As you approach the city gates, there is sign posted that highlights the major criminial offenses and their punishments.

Alacyr looked in awe as he entered the city, unable to help his reaction as he entered. Even though it has been some time since he took up the mercenary life, he still found such major cities powerful to behold. After a moment, he composes himself and keeps an eye on any loose gear in the wagons, just because they were in the city doesn't mean he could relax.

After the caravan enters the city, you all pass through the Merchants 'Bourg. One of the more noticeable shop is an arcane emporium with the shop owners name on the sign "Garworth's". In the main window there is an aquarium with a a fat bullfrog in it, next to it is an old scribed sign that reads "WARNING, Here sits the last man to try and shoplift"

Rolling on, You cross the Black River on a massive stone bridge that looks to be hundreds of years old. The bridge is so wide and long that two towers pierce the river at each third of the river crossing. It connects over to the industrial 'bourg. An area full of industry with steam engines and river powered paddle wheels driving large factories.

This 'bourg is mostly a bridge weaved archipelago. After several small bridges you finally reach the Church of Marrow. Once you roll up, Waddock gets off his wagons and chocks the wheels. If you gents could give me a few minutes, I'll get Father Dumas so he can take a look at those two. They've been out for a while.

A few minutes later, Waddock returns with Father Dumas, as well as two of his fellow priests and an attractive young teen girl wearing a white dress. The girl hangs back while the priests start to help Waddocks other crew unload their crates. Waddock and Father Dumas continue a conversation that started inside the church. It got to be some kind of poison. Those damn swamp gobbers jumped us as we we're just about out of the Wood. They've been out for over two hours. You should of seen these boys make work of them though. Before I could even reload my pistol those little bastards were buggering off, diving into their mud holes.

Father Dumas takes a look at the two. Yes, it's likely poison. I've been hearing about this lately. Apparently they have some kind of aspiring alchemist brewing up something new there. Its been getting worse the last few months. They'll be fine. You said it's been about two hours. They'll likely wake within the hour.

The priest takes a look at the crew of mercs, then back to Waddock. So you say these guys can handle themselves pretty good?

They made easy enough work of those gobbers alright.

Gentlemen... What are you're plans while your in town? I may have a proposition to offer you.

When they reach the church, Alacyr hops off the caravan to stretch his legs. It was nice to finally walk on solid ground. He paid little heed to the two men talking, preferring instead to let his gaze cross the city architecture. But when the priest addressed him and the others, Alacyr shrugged and responded, "When I'm done here, my plan is to grab a bath and a good meal, and then look for more work. If you think my sword can be put to use, then I can be of help."

Turning to Waddock he quickly asks, "Do you need me to help unload?"

Then addressing Caine. Pays easy, I'll take care of those contracts right now. Just get me your papers and I'll sign off on them. While the party hands over the employment contracts Wadock gets a small lock box out. After unlocking it, he pulls out a fountain pen, wax stick, lighter, and seal stamp. He then fills a few check boxes noting your exceptional service and professionalism, signs, and seals the contracts. Just take these to the guild office over in the merchant 'bourg. If you go to his office:
Here we have it. Corvis, "City of Ghosts". Merchants that plied the Black River and Dragon's Tongue founded the city some 900 years ago. It's right at the edge of a natural harbor where the rivers meet. These pioneers believed that trade from the rivers would drive the growth of a city, and they were right. They had a rough time of it at first, but that didn't last too long. Today over 100,000 souls call it home, and thats just the official census. May others also call it home. Corvis is a bit of an island of civilization in the middle of the roughest part of Greater Cygnar. To the west, on the Dragon Tongue you'll reach Point Bourne, and eventually it ends all the way out in Five Fingers.

Being built in a swamp, space is precious. The people here tend to build up rather than across. Down at street level, lost in the mists, are the rough stone structures of Old Corvis. Built on top of them are the elegant spires of New Corvis, home to the merchant elite. In between are shops and homes of good regular folk. All this mess is connected in a maze of ramps, bridges, canals, and tunnels that would drive even a dwarven engineer crazy.

I haven't seen any of these sites for myself so I can't really say what happened exactly. I'm just hearing that graves are being disturbed. It's a large city with a lot of people. Corvis has no shortage of burials sites. There must hundreds of family tombs throughout the city. The vast majority who pass in the city are currently laid in either the Northern Graveyard or the Eastern Boneyard. Farmers like to have sites on their own land. Keeping the family close and all.

Cagedaar and Alacyr: At the Northern Graveyard

You finally reach the Northern Graveyard. You suspect that it is most likely the largest site in Corvis. There is a vast expanse of headstones, crypts, and tombs; all crisscrossed by narrow winding paths and dotted with scrawny bushes and trees. In the center of the graveyard is a tiny stone building. The setting sun has made it dark enough that you can see that it is lite from within, either candle or lantern by the way the light flickers. Ya don't know whats in here do ya. I suppose a greenwrench like yourself wouldn't get told. Why risk a leak. Well, you're gonna see so I may as well tell ya. It's a degremulatron. We've been infected with them pesky little blighters. Somehow they got into a scrap store room and the infestation spread. Leave anything mech, clock, or steam here. We have them isolated to the shop, but there's too many for conventional extermination. If the rumors about this thing are true, ya gotta see this thing run. It should be beautiful.

Before they enter the shop, he removes the accumulator powering his rod. It's an unusual configuration. A glass cylinder with brass framing. Inside, it crackles with blue lightning. He puts it in the device Caine delivered, sets a few dials and then throws one of three levers on it. The small box starts to give off a low hum as an energy field forms around it.

Caine: Union Factory

From the breakroom, as you pass through the doorway to the shop you feel yourself pass through an enchantment protecting the portal. Once you enter, you can see the extent of the shop’s disrepair. Piles of scrap are scattered everywhere, metal is pitted and corroded. You don’t see a single cat, a rarity for a steam shop. They usually have several, acting as sentries to stop rats and gremlins. You’ve heard rumors about gremlins, but have never actually seen one for yourself.

What you suspect is the shop’s foreman, takes the device to the center of the large room. He configures it to match the size of the area, Ya ready for this… it should be something. He then pulls the second lever… nothing happens. The box just starts making a quiet tick sound. Hmm… I expected more. Then, a moment latter at the top of the box, a little probe extends from within to about six inches high. Oh… here we go. The ticking starts to accelerate till its almost a solid tone, then BWWWWAAAAAAAA…. An expanding ring of energy shoots from the probe, dissipating into the walls. All around you, you see tiny little gremlins. There must be over a hundred. Most are merged; several are goofing off, one particularly fat one is peeing into the chest cavity of a ruined steamjack. They all turn to you, painfully aware that they can be seen and that something is up.

Oh... Thats not good.

Caine: Union FactoryAs the horde starts to rial up, the foreman pulls the third level. The box's gears are spinning away inside, letting out a light high pitch sound just on the edge of human hearing. The gremlin hoard wenches in pain holding their ears. Lets get some cover, this could get messy. As the two mechaniks move to a safe distance the box is lost into a dog-pile of gremlins as they swarm at the box trying to destroy it.

Cagedaar and Alacyr: At the Northern Graveyard

Father Dumas sent you? To check on Gum? That hardly seems likely. He turns, making sure that you get a good view of his military pistol.

In a more demanding tone he asks again. Let's try this again... What's your buisness here?

He's not currently in full armor, but he does have the pistol and a clearly mechanikal sword.

Yes Mr.Blackburn, I'm Caine Calvirt. I suppose I could help for a little, but I must leave with in the hour. I have to deal with something that the church has asked my help on. Caine then goes and works on cleaning up the shop.

Alacyr, seeing the veiled threat, decides to just be blunt about it, "We're here about the grave robbings, the father offered us room and board if we helped in any way we could. The grave keeper may have helpful information, so we're going to see him. But, if you have information, than we can talk to you first." He looks to his comrade and adds, "Most likely, we'll be doing our best to physically, and permanently, stop these thieves of your dead. If that's okay by you."

Cagedaar and Alacyr: At the Northern Graveyard

Ahh yes, that. I'm the watch captain in the part of the city. Father Dumas brought that to my attention earlier. My superiors said to let it go. It's a nearly victimless crime compared to some of the other happenings, gang wars and such. I'm glad he didn't let it go.

Well, in any case, you'll want to catch Gum before he gets too liquored up. The man does like his drink. I was just leaving as well.

As he walks away you notice that the name on the headstone is "Caroline Helstrom". From the dates and epitaph you conclude that this is the grave of the watch captains wife.

Caine: Union FactoryMister? I said my name was Malek. He says jokingly. I got enough of that formality crap in the service; we keep it a bit informal here. Working for the church? Man of faith huh? Which one that be, gears or ghosts? Can’t really say I subscribe to either, but I’ll admit, when I’m in a bind I’ll pass my requests to any that’ll hear ‘em.

Sorry, Malek, and I'm not true sure which one is the right way, I mean Crysiss has the knowledge, but Morrow was the religon I grew up with and welll, old habits die hard. Well anyway Malek I need to be going and meet up with my group. I will make sure I stop by whenever zi can to check on the shop's progress. Caine shakes Malek's hand and then leaves the shop, hoping he can make it to the raveyard before his friend's leave.

I move with purpose to the keeper's home, pounding on the door with unrestrained fervor to assure the possibly drunken man can hear him. As I do so I bellow loudly
"Mr. Gum! We would speak with you before your spirits take you to your sleep this night!

Caine: Union Factory (in route to Graveyard)
Malek scoops the last shovel full of gremlin bits into the back of a wagon. Sorry, I just figured that since you said you were working for a church… you know. Well which one are you working for? In any case, you’ve been huge help. Swing back by some time, you seem like you could handle a wrench.DC15 (K. Local, K.Dungeoneering, or Survival)To prevent from getting lost. Since the Corvis urban environment can be complex to the point of dungeon-like at times, roll a D20, plus whichever skill has the highest bonus.

Cagedaar and Alacyr: At the Northern Graveyard
You hear an old man mumbling curse words as he gets the door. A grumpy ill-tempered haggard old man opens the door. You're left wondering how something so frail can possibly do the level of manual labor his job requires of him. Eh.. What in the hell you banging... He pauses as he sees his odd looking guest. Hmm... you kinda small for an Ogerun? He asks calmly, mispronouncing the name. He shakes his head a little and resumes his discontent demeanor. Any case, I ain’t got no damn drink. Friggin ran out. So unless you got something that’ll quench a thirst I got no use for ya.

Alacyr, watching the captain walk away and then looking to the grave, is brought back to the present when he hears the banging. He hurries to catch up with Cagedaar, though staying behind his large companion. Alacyr chimes in from behind, "Then you won't help us find who is robbing graves?"

Ohh, no Don't worry about it. I'm only doing it because it's work, but Father Dumas just wants us to cheack up on somethings before the festival. Nothing really to worry about. Well I'll try to stop by tomorrow to help get the shop in working order.

At the Northern Graveyard:
You're here about that? It was weeks ago. I already cleaned up the mess. I don't know how I would be able to help.

You get a sense that he's withholding something.

Caine:
Since they almost got lost and had to back track a little, it took Alacyr and Cagedaar much longer to get to the graveyard than you to the shop. Having no issues getting to the graveyard from the shop, you get there pretty quickly as well. You arrive to the gates of the graveyard just as the two take their next actions. From the gate you can see them at an open door.

Alacyr looks the man dead in the eyes, glaring at him a bit before rather harshly explaining, "I'm sure you did, but father Dumas insisted we look in to the problem. And seeing as me and my friend aren't going to just leave it at that, you should really help up. The faster you do, the faster we can leave you be."

"And the faster we can assure that whatever is being done with the 'parts' doesn't come back to bite anyone in the liquor soaked pants. Litterally."

Or else what? You gonna beat an old man in his home because he minds his own damn business. Why should I stick my neck on the line here? What's in it for me?
