I'm playing a homebrew class in a game soon. Unfortunately, it has spellcasting similar to that of the Beguiler or Warmage (limited-list spontaneous), and its list has spells from three different books (PHB, PHB II, SpC). Anybody know some way to pull together the spells with stats and descriptions into one list, given names? Other than sifting through the books for the spells one-by-one?

Spell Index (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/lists/spells) covers PHB and SpC which are the big ones. You'll have to look through PHB2 on your own.

I'd say your best choice is to make a spreadsheet of them yourself. Write or copy the summarized description from the 'list' tables in the books where they're found, give a reference page, sort it by level and add columns for any other criteria you think might be important to sort by.

It looks like you only have 3 books to look through. I would just go through those books one at a time. Look for ones you think you'll want to use, and copy them down into a spreadsheet. For the others, just remember a vague sense of what they do, and have the books on hand when playing.

(Just remember kids: always look up rules during other players' turns!)

+1 Always a big fan of home made spreadsheets :smalltongue:

OK then, thanks for the tips. Would anyone happen to already know that some of those spells are good and should be on the default list? The character's role is a gish, with class abilities that buff allies and himself, and debuff enemies.
