View Full Version : Making Magus Spontaneous

I like the Magus class, but as a DM, I'm not a big fan of running prepped casters, the work is usually more than what they add to the game in my opinion.

Since I don't have any experience with the Magus, I put it to the playground, what would I have to do to make a spontaneous Magus(with access to their full list ala Warmage) that fit into the tier 3 range of things?

Personally I'd start by saying that they don't get access to any spells outside of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook, then slap on Diminished Casting as seen in several Magus variants. Would that be enough? If not, where would you go from there?

The game I'm currently running has a party of a ghast(treated as ECL 3) Hexblade with the fixes in Dictum Mortum's handbook (http://digg.com/newsbar/topnews/dictum_mortuum_s_handbooks_the_hexblade_s_handbook ), a Factotem with Iaijutsu, and a Beguiler who iirc also has iaijutsu.
