Hey all, I was just wondering if there were any other obscure class variants in the adaptation section of a class similar to the arcane swordsage or the unarmed swordsage.

Lots, usually with PrCs. Abjurant Champion and Mindbender both suggest Psionic adaptations, without giving much detail.

Adaptation of Anima Mage states that it could be usable with Divine Magic and Psionics. Converting to Divine Magic is fairly straightforward. But some retooling is needed for use with Psionics (since the main class features were designed for use with spells + slots).

Incidentally, this makes it possible to make a Cleric 3 / Binder 1 / Divine Anima Mage 10 / Tenebrous Apostate 5 to get a CL 17 Cleric and EBL 15 Binder for 9th level spells / 8th level vestiges, in a relatively straightforward manner (and only 19 levels!)

Many prestige classes do have adaptation, though most aren't as drastic as Arcane Swordsage, generally they say you can convert an arcane prestige class to divine (Anima Mage) or Psionics (Abjurant Champion). The other adaptations are usually suggestion on how to change the class to be more in tune with other campaign settings. For Example the Suel Arcanamach suggest to be changed to the Netherese Arcanamach if you are playing in the Forgotten Realms

I was actually asking about base classes, but I am also curious about PrCs.

I prefer using archivist, and filling that extra level with tainted sorcerer.

So there aren't any?

The closest would be something like StP Erudite. Generally base class ACFs are much more detailed.

One notable one in Magic of Incarnum - There is an adaptation suggesting to remove the alignment restrictions on Incarnates and change their alignment-based abilities.

General suggestions like that one are more common on the listings of PrCs than Base Classes. Most of the Base Classes have strict rulings on them and have specific alternate class features that appear in other books.

The Sovereign Speaker in Faiths of Eberron is one such PrC. The authors suggest that the setting specific class could be used in other settings by letting the character worship a different entire pantheon than the Soverign Host.

That's the type of thing I was talking about. Thanks!

The Shadowcaster has an adaptation entry that their magic can be shifted away from coming from the Plane of Shadow.

The Truenamer has an adaptation entry suggesting players or DMs invent their own truenaming utterances (spells), since the system is simple.

The Spell Compendium lists advice for adding spells inside the book onto class lists from other books including specific advice for the WuJen, Shugenja, Healer, Spelltheif, and Warmage.

The Duskblade entry suggests changing the origin of duskblades from Elves to Githyanki or another race.

The Dragon Shaman suggests limiting the dragon choices available to only good dragons or to strange dragons like the gem or shadow dragons.

The Dragonfire Adept suggests linking the class to some other sort of monster or elemental instead of just dragons.
The Beguiler entry doesn't really say anything.

I'm assuming you're not looking for variants with explicit rules. But on the off-chance you are, here (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=7908)'s the list.

As far as handwavey "Maybe this could be a variant?" sorts of variants, the big ones are the Swordsage (arcane/unarmed), Totemist (basically rewrite everything magical beast themed to some other theme... presumably including the soulmeld list) and Spellthief (make it a Psithief.... somehow). Maybe the Psionic Artificer also counts, but it comes pretty close to written.
