Hi guys,
I have been trying to figure out how useful the poison from say a level 7 monitor lizard is. I've been looking around, google, d20pfsrd, the pathfinder core rule book. But I haven't really been able to figure out why should even be bothered with. That's the crux of my question. It stems from the fact that it is so hard already to find enough documented information on it that it almost feel like an afterthought.
Injury poisons are cool. They have a frequency of 1/round according to the pathfinder rule book. However an animal companion gains poison with its attack that has a frequency of 1/hour. frequency 1 hour (6), effect 1 Dex damage, cure 1 save, Con-based DC Monitor Lizard Info (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/druid/animal-companions#TOC-Monitor-Lizard)
So the question is, why have a frequency of once per hour? A monster isn't going to last that long and its not like your going to let him flee. Also, If a monster fails his saving throw so he contracts the poison, and gets bitten again, does 1) the poison effects stack?, so if he lost 1 dex from the first poison and fails from the second bite does he lose another dex? And 2) do the save DC's increase by 2 like they do with other poisons?
I know I'm asking a lot of questions but I am thoroughly confused and I've been frequenting this board for a long time so I know you guys have good answers. Thanks.
