Hey,

So in a upcoming campaign i'll play in i want to play a kobold trapper and will start with rogue levels before i go into combat trapsmith, now i got 2 questions.

First:
If someone does not spot the trap and tiggers it does he/she count as being flat-footed for the attack the trap makes.

If so,
Does the trap deal sneak attack damage from the rogue levels?

The latter i think not but the first might be.

Cheers

Does the trap deal sneak attack damage from the rogue levels?

No, because trap doesn't have any rogue levels.

What exactly is your build going to be? Are you focusing on trapping or sneaking or both?

As a general advice, Dungeonscape and DMG II have some nice traps.

If you're focusing on trapping might I suggest a build?

Race: Earth Kobold (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/elementalRacialVariants.htm#earthKobolds) (with these changes (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060420a))
Build: Kobold Paragon (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060127a) 2 / Rogue 3 / Marshal 1 / Trapsmith 5 / Combat Trapsmith 5 / Exemplar 4
Rogue variants: 1st Kobold sub level (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20060106a&page=3), quick fingers variant ability, martial rogue (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#rogue).
Trait: Specialized (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/buildingCharacters/characterTraits.htm#specialized)

The 1 level of Marshal (from the Miniatures Handbook) is there for Motivate Intelligence. Trapsmith and the Quick Fingers variant ability are from Dungeonscape. Exemplar is from Complete Adventurer.

For feats, look at the following:
Apprentice (Craftsman) - DMG II
Extraordinary Trapsmith - Races of the Dragon
Trap Sensitivity - Dungeonscape
Combat Tinkering - Dungeonscape
Trap Engineer - Dungeonscape
Craft Expertise - Dragon Magazine #339
Guerilla Trapsmith - Dragon Magazine #342
Trap Mastery - Dragon Magazine #347
Dungeoneer's Intution - City of Splendors: Waterdeep
Trapmaster - Lost Empires of Faerun

Hey,

Thanks for the help.

I will focus on traps mostly, however i can't take any feats/builds i like since i am bound to the Furyondy Gazzeteer. However since this will be a low OP char i think i can get some things open that are not in the gazzeteer.

cheers

Focusing on traps, even optimizing using traps will still be low OP.
