Hey Playground,
I just wanted to see if anyone knew a way to have a space laser, mass driver, nuke, or what have you at an extremely low level in 3.5e. I mostly just want to be able to pull it out. Come on! can you imagine?
Dm: So, the orcs advance.
Player: Space Laser.
Dm: No.
Player: I smite it with my space laser!
Dm. It misses. And you die.
Player: Ressurection! Space Laser!
Dm. This isn't Warhammer.
Player: SPAAACE!!!!!!!! FIRE FOR THE FIRE GOD!
Dm. Not playing with you again....:smallfrown:

I recall someone making a class on this forum based on this concept. Can't remember what it was called though.

Well it's not 3.5 but for 3.0 there was the FFG Dragonstar setting

Well, I can only think of building an orbital platform and teleporting rocks there via teleportation circle to drop as mass driver slugs, but there has to be a more low-level way.
Hm. Many low-level outsiders have at-will teleport without error. They should be able to get you into orbit. You just need a way of breathing and a pressure suit.

That was me. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=223450)
I never really finished it to my satisfaction and the balance is a bit wonky in places but it should suit your needs.

My Boyz claim a 4+ cover save. 3 saves, 1 wound.

I actually tried to figure out how to build a moon laser once. You can't, really. Not without spending the entirety of your wealth on ring gates. A mere orbital laser, however would require only one ring gate. Now, unfortunately, I can't recall which spells had a great enough range to make it to the surface again. All in all, it's mostly wasted effort. Better to hire a pixie to carry around a shrunk ring gate for you, invisible, and pretend it's coming from space.

I like the way you think.
