I would be happy to offer advice and ideas of dubious quality. It's always interesting to hear (or read as the case may be) other peoples concepts for settings. I think this is a really good idea. I guess the first thing you have to look at is what people live in your world. You've already said that humans exist, what about all the other core races. Are there all the usual monsters, or just a few different kinds? It sounds like a good concept, it just needs the details
