Hi!

So, I was looking for some help in a build somewhat similiar to tarzan, from the disney movie. A friend of mine will play a human full scout, with as few prestige classes as possible (if any), focused on movement and stealth. He was looking to wield some sort of spear, and mentioned how similar the concept was to Tarzan, hence the topic's name. He really wants to move around a lot, while making the ocasional attack in combat. =P

I'm looking for a few advices on how to make the build semi-effective on combat. No need for anything extreme. Just a few tricks here and there so he doesn't feel useless when combat comes.

I remember reading about a tactical feat that doubled your damage if you strike from above, but I don't remember the name. He really liked that idea.

Does anyone have some general advice for a similar build? He'll be starting at level 1.

try the class Animal Lord, Apelord from complete adventurer

and the feat Brachiation
is this the feat you were thinking of?
LEAP ATTACK
You can combine a powerful charge and a mighty leap
into one devastating attack.
Prerequisites: Jump 8 ranks, Power Attack.
Benefit: You can combine a jump with a charge against
an opponent. If you cover at least 10 feet of horizontal
distance with your jump, and you end your jump in a
square from which you threaten your target, you can
double the extra damage dealt by your use of the Power
Attack feat. If you use this tactic with a two-handed
weapon, you instead triple the extra damage from Power
Attack.
This attack must follow all the normal rules for using
the Jump skill and for making a charge, except that you
ignore rough terrain in any squares you jump over.

Scout 3/Ranger X. Take the Dungeon Specialist acf from Dungeonscape, it replaces your Fast Movement and gives you a Climb speed. Take the feat Swift Hunter from Complete Scoundrel, your levels of Scout and Ranger stack for determining the strength of your Skirmish Damage and Favored Enemies, you can also apply your Skirmish damage to enemies normally immune to it if they are Favored Enemies. Focus more on Ranger levels as it has higher BAB, HD, and two good saves.

druid and wildshape into an ape, have an ape companion, cast spells to increase your speed, and take the feat that lets you swing through trees at your land speed
