I'm trying to remember the name of an old TV series I used to watch as a kid.

It was a live-action show on British TV in the '80s (I can't remember if it was BBC or ITV).

It was set mainly in (I think) an antique shop, or possibly a museum, and involved the characters dealing with various magical Ancient Egyptian artefacts.

Apart from that I can't remamber much about it, but I think it ran for at least two seasons.

Relic Hunter was broadcast around 2000-ish, so about 10 years too late.

There's the Friday the 13th TV series (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_the_13th:_The_Series) at about the right timeframe which was on ITV.

It set in an antique shop and was about a group of people trying to recover cursed relics, some of which were Egyptian or Egyptian themed.

I don't think that was it. It was a children's show, so it certainly wouldn't have
"constantly pushed the limits of "acceptable content", regularly featuring violence on par with that of the R-rated horror movies of the time. Certain episodes such as "Night Prey", depicted a level of sexuality that was taboo for network television."

Ooo, that's an important detail I didn't see in the initial post. Just because you watched it as a kid doesn't mean it was a kid's show, after all

I was thinking "Friday the 13th, the series" myself. I'd say the Senator has it.

Ah yes, that's it. Thanks.
