I'm looking to get Improved Grab with the bear spirit totem, but the character is lawful. Is there a barbarian that can be lawful, a good substitution for rage, or another way to get Improved Grab with 2 levels or 2 feats? The UA swap for combat style is not a good one.

Ex-Barbarians
A barbarian who becomes lawful loses the ability to rage and cannot gain more levels as a barbarian. He retains all the other benefits of the class (damage reduction, fast movement, trap sense, and uncanny dodge).

Sandstorm's Scorpion's Grasp is better than Improved Grab (it doesn't have the awful size restrictions), but costs 3 feats (Unarmed strike, improved grapple, SG) or a monk level and a feat.

Savage Species' Scaled Horror prestige class has easy entry for anything with reptilian or aquatic subtypes (Skarn are usually the easiest). It's 3/4 BA, but its Improved Grab is better than Barbarian's (it works on creatures the SH's own size) and it gets auto-success with Ranger wands (handy with SpC).

Mancatcher proficiency has some size restrictions (only works against character's size or one size smaller), but essentially is Improved Grab with reach and the possibility for some insane grapple modifiers (all attack bonuses translate into grapple bonuses).
