a friend mentioned that she was fighting with a "psionic plant" monster. I know of no plants with the subtype of psionic. I am reasonably certain that due to past experiences with this particular DM, that this is not a real monster. (player in question is playing a daring outlaw, and this plant, like the undead, oozes, etc, is the latest in a long line of FUs to the players, which is why I can't offer direct descriptions of the monster)
it was described as "an evil sunflower thing" which is sort of leaving me cold.
any ideas what this might be?

Udoroot (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/monsters/udoroot.htm), Expanded Psionics Handbook.

Nah, this is what he's using I'd bet:

Edit: to kill it, stand 25' away & shoot it (or throw rocks if you're low on ammo) until it dies.

He could also apply the Phrenic (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/monsters/phrenicCreature.htm) template to some non-mindless plant.
Edit: Or the Woodling Template to some psionic creature.
