So I have been cast into doing a D20 modern (future/stage 6 technology) campaign but do not know any of the classes, feats, skills, etc of d20 as i have never even picked up a d20 book. Do you guys have any recommendations to where i can quickly build a character and learn the basics?

I usually play some sort of supernatural class in 3.5, my favorite classes are Psions, Artificers, and Sorcerers and i mainly enjoy long-ranged attacks. Is there a D20 class that you think someone from 3.5 that enjoys the above classes would like? I am not looking for super-optimized stuff, just something that would be fun.

What class do you guys think would suit me? also what resources should i use to make this character?

You can find the modern SRD here (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/MSRD:Modern_System_Reference_Document). There's not much in the way of magic-like classes unless you're specifically using the FX rules, and by the sound of it you aren't. Your best bet might be to ask if you can use the mutation rules (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/MSRD:Mutations), you might find something appealing there.

D20 Modern, and especially D20 Future, are designed to be palettes that someone builds a campaign out of. Unless your DM simply said that everything stage 6 and lower is available, you'll generally have a much more specific list of sections of the book that you have access to (especially since some sections explicitly ask that the DM decide which PL they adhere to).

With D20 modern/future I always like to know more about the campaign setting and your other players before making a character. Can we get some more background besides PL6?
