Roy wakes up in the bedroom of a Chicago apartment, next to Suzanne Pleshette!

Who?

Oh, and also a terrible, poorly-conceived idea.

I think it's a Bob Newhart reference.

Still one of the worst possible endings. It was only good for one joke ever.

Pretty sure entire plotlines being a dream sequence is why people got pissed off at Dallas in its original run, and why no one is hoping for a st elsewhere reboot. It kind of cheapens the experience for everyone involved.

What? It-was-all-just-a-dream ending? What an original and great idea!

Who?

And possibly just as importantly, why?

I also heard that the ending will reveal that the OOTS is controled by giant space cats and that Xykon really hails from modern Earth.

Don't forget that they have to break the 4th wall again.

The "it's all just a dream" ending is one of the most frustrating, obnoxious, annoying, trite, and disappointing endings possible. So I can't even find a miniscule smirk at hearing a variation on it.

I'm hoping that #857 is merely the latest episode of the comic, not the last. It's a very different thing.

Don't forget that they have to break the 4th wall again.

Which has happened - many times...

Unless you're watching things ala Inception. :smallwink:

I'm not sure if you followed the intended joke. At least what I think the intended joke was. ;)

He's humorously (hopefully; other interpretations might be valid but forbidden by the Forum Rules ;)) referencing the long delay since the last update.

Not sure whether this is a spoiler for inception so spoiler tagged just in case.

Nope, it was frustrating, obnoxious, annoying, trite, and disappointing there too.

The only 'good' part was that it was sort of ambiguous so I can at least hold on to the belief that the spinning top thing stopped spinning a second after the ending.

Well, I don't want to enter in judgements regardin' the movie, but answering to Bulldog Psion (and his concept of "it's all just a dream" obnoxious endings), I was referring precisely to Inception's final scene, so... :smallwink:

The last episode of the comic is #857.

And it's already foreshadowed in first panel. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0469.html)
