I'm still rather fuzzy on what the various colors of goblin cloaks mean. Has the comic ever addressed this directly, other than the red artifact cloak? Was I just supposed to figure it out somehow?

For goblins (not hobgoblins), whitecloaks are the lowest ranking clerics, as per SoD. Greycloaks are higher rank clerics.

For hobgoblins, bluecloaks are clerics and browncloaks are wizards. Jirix has a unique darker blue cloak, and the late Hobgoblin General had a unique purple cloak.

Pretty sure the ranks go something like this:
Redcloak
Dark blue cloak
blue cloak
brown cloak
whitecloak

There is also Gray (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0093.html)-cloaks (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0107.html).

There is also Gray (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0093.html)-cloaks (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0107.html).
Different goblinoids, different method of casting, thus different heirarchy.

Cloaks By Role:
Red Cloak: High Priest of the Dark One (any goblinoid)
Dark Blue Cloak: Unique to Jirix
Blue Cloak: Priest of the Dark One (hobgoblin)
Gray Cloak: Priest of the Dark One (goblin)
White Cloak: Acolyte of the Dark One (goblin)
Brown Cloak: Arcane Spellcaster (hobgoblin)

Cloaks by Rank (speculation):

Red Cloak
|
Dark Blue Cloak
/........|........\
Blue Cloak....Gray Cloak....Brown Cloak
|
White Cloak

Also, the former Supreme Leader had a sort of turquoise-colored cloak. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0149.html)

Yes, but that's probably not the same thing (and it's been mentioned before).

:smallconfused:

If you're saying something about the former Supreme Leader being the same hobgoblin as the General... that's not what I meant to imply. What I was trying to do was point out that the Supreme Leader wasn't the only color-cloaked non-spellcaster among the comic's goblinoids. :smallwink:

No, I meant that it had been literally mentioned before in this thread:

the late Hobgoblin General had a unique purple cloak.

And I'm honestly confused by the rest of your post - all I was saying is that I doubt the general's cloak relates to the rest, given its different design (longer, no ragged edges) and the fact that he doesn't seem to have been a spellcaster (the Supreme Leader most likely was, just lower-level).

I probably missed that part of Gift Jiraff's post then, as I just noticed it now. In that case, just ignore what I wrote in the above post, as it was around 2:00 AM when I typed it (and was obviously more than a little tired).
