What I'm looking for here
Basically I want input, thoughts and ideas about the way alien societies might work and how they'll react to a technologically advanced human foe literally coming out of the sky. The alien species is homogenous and is ~alien~ - we're talking Wasp-like not WASP-like :smallcool::smallbiggrin:. I'd love for any comments. Partially inspired by the request for alien food crops. Also if there are any mappers out there, I'd love someone who could put some terrain onto a map I have. I have some areas already demarcated as plains and grasslands in my mind but most of them are vague.

Humanity has unified under 1 world government and spread out to the stars. Why? Resources - specifically a lack of them. Several planets later as the Human fleets expand and Earth finds it's first opponent orbiting a small star called Epsilon Eridani.
The aliens appear to be sapient and have some level of technological developments. Earth dedicates 5 taskforces to occupy the planet after the aliens seem to refuse contact with humanity. Each taskforce is named after a Zodialogical sign and they are: Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, Sagitarrius, Aries
The Aliens live on all of the planet's continents and there are three major players along with some more poorly developed minor alien nations. The total comes to about 8, with a couple of alien groups who could potentially rise up and form their own nations.
I like the idea of them being wasplike in appearance but not having any of the cultural associations we assume they have - hive mind, caste system etc.
