Hey guys, I'm making a Conjurer to run through the new Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition, and I'm having trouble weighing the strengths of going with the Teleportation (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/wizard/arcane-schools/paizo---arcane-schools/classic-arcane-schools/conjuration/teleportation)option as compared to the Cheliaxian Infernal Binder (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/wizard/arcane-schools/paizo---arcane-schools/classic-arcane-schools/conjuration/infernal-binder).

Is one obviously superior? I had no problem rejecting the creation focus out of hand.

In general terms, I would say swift-action teleportation comes up far more often than being able to steal summons. Especially in Pathfinder, where casting in melee is a death sentence. Remember that you can't always 5-foot step away (tight quarters, large/multiple foes, enemies with reach, difficult terrain etc.)

This isn't to say that the Cheliax ability isn't interesting (does it work on Eidolons?) but speaking in purely practical terms you're much more likely to get use out of Shift. The fact that it gives you a way to teleport at first level is icing on the cake.

Teleportation seems infinitely better.
