Caster level progression question

Say I were to make a bard, and go into the Sublime Chord PrC. After taking the first level, could I jump into, lets say for this example, Abjurant Champion and progress the SC caster levels?

To be fair, you cannot enter Sublime Chord until you're at least 10th level, so you're still going to have a combined character level of 19, minimum, before you get 9th level spells. That's not broken, and isn't really the source of the 'brokeness' when considering the more broken theurges.

I figured I could do that, but wasn't sure. Was sleep deprived and considered making some sort of strange Bard/Assassin/Sublime Chord/Abjurant Champion character :P
