I believe they are for hunting undead.
Bash someone living and the cure mod will hopefully heal them.
Bash an undead and the cure mod is bonus damage.

Yes, I had a guy (yes a guy) who had a Cleric/Monk/Drunken Master walk around telling everyone his name was Doctor Quinn Medicine Woman and would heal people in a town by roundhouse kicking them.

He had healing touch the reserve feat too, so he's go up to them heal them to half and then face stomp them.

It was really freaking funny. If you DM is a douche then I suggest the build.
