AoO and wielding two weapons

Hey there, this is just a quick rule question.

So, I'm running a fighter, he wields a whip in one hand and a rapier in the other.

I have greater trip and whip mastery and no two-weapon fighting and use the whip to trip a foe in melee. Can I use the rapier without penalty on the resulting AoO ?

As long as you can deal with the reach issue, there shouldn't be anything stopping you.

Should've used adjacent I guess, but yeah they'll be next to me.
